For five hundred years, Catherine of Pariseau, the Regent of Ember, has held a suite of rooms on the fourth floor of Castle Ember. When Queen Corrine returned and regained her throne, Regent Catherine stayed in these suites, so as to always be on-hand should her Queen need her. Those visitors and dignitaries who have non-pressing business with the Queen are often routed to Catherine, who serves as a 'screen' for her Majesty, taking care of requests and trivial matters without interrupting Corrine's importaint duties.
Catherine's suites consist of an office with adjacent small library and painting studio, her bedrooms, and a combination dining area and lounge where she sometimes entertains personal guests. The suites overlook the Vesuvius Pass and the Desert of Darah to the north.
