Awards

When you create your site, do you strive to create the best possible site? Do you have something of interest to the internet community? Is it viewable to the many systems and browsers out there? Do you care about your site? Do you want the world to know that your site is above average, that it's special?

As a bit better guide, what I will be looking out for, when reviewing a web site, is that it conforms to a few of the following thigs:

That your site's images have alt tags, where appropriate.
There's nothing worse when looking at a page, on a non-graphical browser, and coming across a whole page that just says [IMAGE] or [INLINE] all over the place!
That your site doesn't have horizonal scrolling.
This makes the page rather hard to read, when you need to scroll to the right to finish reading some information, or viewing an image.
That you use frames sparingly.
The less frames the better - it sometimes can be very easy to get lost viewing a frames-based page. But, as you can see from my page, sometimes you do need to use them!
Make your content interesting.
Sometimes it's hard to catch a viewers interest - just try not to let your content read like a high school maths text book! ^_^ (But do try to check your spelling!)
Test to make sure that you don't have broken links or images.
If you've got a large site, it's hard to catch them all... but test what you can, and keep your site fresh and as up-to-date as possible.
Be willing to work on your site!
Don't enter a half-finished site. Be patient, do the hard work, and bookmark this site! When you're ready, and your site has been perfected, come back and enter your site!

Download a copy of the lynx browser from http://lynx.browser.org/ and test out your site on lynx - it will show up any missing alt tags, if links don't work, etc, because it's a text only browser.

There are two awards that you can apply for.

First there is the Church of Ryouga Award - this is an award specifically for Ranma 1/2 pages. To stand a chance of winning this award, over half of your content must be to do with Ranma 1/2.

If you don't have a Ranma 1/2 site, enter the Kunoichi's Home Page Award! In this case, content can be about anything else! (Don't confuse the two! ^_^ )

Submitting your site.

Please double check your site's URL when you enter, and make sure you enter a current e-mail address. Without these two important bits of information, I can't give you an award! ^^;

Now, unfortunately, my perl server is pretty unstable, and people often can not access it. If this happens to you, please send me an e-mail at kunoichi@thekeep.org with the subject - Award Me, your e-mail address, your URL, the title of your web site and a short description of your web site. Don't forget the award title that you wish to apply for! ^_^
