ContikiAnime Expo 2000

Well, here's a day by day report on both my Contiki and AX trip(s)!! The photos are at the bottom of each page!

28th June 2000

Today was to be a quiet day - I didn't want to spend any more money, because I was heading off to LA tomorrow. I needed cash to spend there, too! So today I packed most of my things and hung out by the swimming pool for the morning. Swimming and tanning - I had to prove that I was in Hawaii, after all!

Anyway, in the afternoon I went for a last walk around Waikiki and eventually found an internet cafe, where I spent a little time reading and replying to my e-mail...

Another walk around the shops before I went back to the hotel. Coral was sleeping, so I watched tv. Not just to get out of the sun for a while (I didn't want to burn again!), but for a bit of rest and relaxation after the days of running around, getting up early, etc.

For dinner, we decided to go to Maccas (MacDonalds, FYI)... man, it was weird. I ordered a small, and got a medium sized meal. I then found out that what I consider to be a small doesn't exist. Everything is a size bigger in America! (Or at least in Hawaii.) I saw the large. Gyah! Gigantic things!!!

Why does everyone server so much food in the US?! I'd so much rather have half the food on my plate for half the price, and stop wasting both money and food, if I don't have someone to share my meals with. :(

We went down to the beach, so she should take a video of the people surfing out there, and we both enjoyed the nice evening air of Waikiki.

I'd met Dan, while at Maccas (he was wandering past), so while Coral went back to the hotel, as she was leaving that night, I went out with Dan and the new Contiki group who had just started their Hawaiian Discovery tour! We met up at... yep, Dukes for drinks. ^_^

Wow, hardly an Aussie among them! O_O

Then it was back to my hotel to do a bit more packing... then to bed. Tomorrow would be another tiring day.
