EGYPT REVEALED, ET AL - INFORMATIONAL REPORT #8 DATED 02/23/03

REGARDING: Discovering Archaeology, Archaeology Today, Egypt Revealed, 
The Glory of Ancient Egypt (ordered through Circa Media) and Dinosaur 
Magazines. ALSO REGARDING: Egypt Revealed Expedition Tour of Egypt that 
was canceled in August of 2001 and no refunds yet given. 

Dear Fellow Subscriber or Interested Party:

At long last I have news to report regarding Jeff Leach and the above 
mentioned magazines and canceled tour.

The State of Texas, through its Attorney General's office, filed a 
Petition against Jeffrey D. Leach for violations of Deceptive Trade 
Practices Act and injury to consumers. The damages requested in the 
Petition include the payment of civil penalties of $2,000.00 per 
violation, not to exceed a total of $10,000.00; pay restitution; pay 
pre-judgment interest on all awards of restitution, damages or civil 
penalties, as provided by law; pay all costs of Court, costs of 
investigations and reasonable attorney’s fees; and payment of post-
judgment interest. Additionally, the total damages listed regarding 
the canceled trip to Egypt is $111,218.75.

WHAT THIS MEANS TO YOU, THE MAGAZINE SUBSCRIBER: 

If you have not yet contacted James Daross, Assistant Attorney General, 
Consumer Protection Division, 401 E. Franklin Ave., Suite 530, El Paso, 
TX 79901 at phone 915-834-5800; FAX 915-542-1546 or his E-Mail address 
of james.daross@oag.state.tx.us (preferred method of communication) with 
the monetary amount of your damages from the canceled magazine subscriptions, 
PLEASE do so as soon as possible.

Jeff Leach has been served with the Petition filed with the Court and has 
until March 10th to file his appearance with the Court. If he fails to do 
so, James Daross will take a default judgment against Mr. Leach. He will 
include in the restitution portion of this default judgment a listing of 
everyone who has been "scammed" regarding the magazine subscriptions with 
the monetary amount of your loss. You MUST notify James Daross of your 
monetary loss to be included in the judgment as a damaged party. If you are 
not listed on this judgment it is highly unlikely you will ever be 
reimbursed for your magazine subscription monies paid. (Please note that 
the inclusion of your damages in the judgment in no way guarantees 
reimbursement to you. But it's a step in the right direction and the only 
action available to us at this time.)

Listed below are the names of those who James Daross does NOT need to hear 
from at this time as he has received the monetary amount of your claim 
through a listing I have been keeping. NOTE: If you do NOT see your name on 
this list then you DO need to contact James Daross.

Some of you from time to time have posted information I have sent to you 
regarding Jeff Leach, the canceled trip and the magazine subscription 
scams to your personal web sites and/or to "chat" or other groups with 
which you are involved. Due to the length of time it has taken to move this 
action forward against Jeff Leach to this point, I'm sure that many, many 
E-Mail addresses of involved parties have changed of which I have not been 
advised of. I would sincerely appreciate it if this entire message could 
be posted to the Internet so that as many "victims" of Jeff Leach can be 
supplied with this important, updated information.
