The gentle sounds of birds chirping, the soft rustling of leaves as a breeze blew past. The whispering of a nearby village performing their daily chores. Just another morning for forest, village, and a little run down cabin. *** "AAAAARRGGHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!", came a scream from within the log cabin, followed by the sounds of paper tearing. "Damn! I've only a few hours left..." More sounds, seemingly that of a heavy object being banged against the wall. *** >From outside, the lone figure of a young man can be seen huddled over a table, pencil in hand. A closer examination reveals a small pile of crumpled notes sitting next to his table. From the look of his bloodshot eyes, he's been at it for a while with apparently no success. Gripping his pencil tightly, the young man begins in earnest again, scribbling onto the piece of paper. *** Scribbling on yet another sheet of paper, he was really starting to lose his patience. Getting lost was one thing. Ending up in Africa? Then this strange place called France. But now, finally home with his pencil, nothing came to mind. "I can't believe this.. six hours.. six long hours and nothing to show for it... RRrrr.. Saotome Ranma.... this is ALL YOUR FAULT!!!", cried the young man as he crumpled yet another piece of paper up and tossed it aside. Sighing, he let himself fall backwards, looking up at the ceiling. "Akane... I wonder if I'll be able to finish this in time." Sighing heavily, the young man closed his eyes and pictured the girl of his dreams. *** "Bweee!!" Somewhere, a little piglet was dashing back and forth along a forest path, big sweat drops hanging onto the side of his little bandana'd head. Further down the path, a small party of hunters were following the heart shaped footprints in the soft dirt, eager to return with dinner. *** Opening his eyes again, the young man sat up and started to write again, a thoughtful smile on his face. He writes down, 'One day, my mortal enemy... Saotome Ranma... ran before I arrived at our meeting place.' "Yeah... that sounds right" 'Fearing for his life.. the coward abandons the lovely...' "Hmm.. no... better make that 'kind and lovely'" Scratches out the word, lovely. '...the kind and lovely, Tendo Akane. I, Hibiki Ryouga, met with her and had lunch..' "No wait.. that doesn't sound too heroic. Let's see..." 'I, Hibiki Ryouga, arrived at her side and she invited me to lunch.' "Yeah... that seems better." 'During lunch, Saotome returned and taunted me and my love...' Blushing, the young man erases the end of that sentence, rewriting it slightly. '..Saotome returned and taunted me and the fair Akane. I had no choice but to try and defend us, but Akane was much quicker, sending him into the pond with one swing of the table.' Scratching his head and tugging slightly at his bandana's, the young man sighed, once again stuck. Crumpling and tossing the sheet of paper into the corner of the room, he stood, shouldering his large pack and stepped out the door for some fresh air. *** "This way!" By now, the villagers were hot and sweating. Tracking a pig in a forest was hard work and thick brush didn't help much. The sound of dry leaves being crushed deeper into the forest caught their attention and they continued on. *** "Ah....... it sure feels good to be out of that cabin. Wonder if I'll.." His words were cut off by the appearance of a water balloon, coming from the nearby trees. Its impact was followed by the sounds of children laughing could be heard as footsteps signalled their retreat. The young man's form vanished, his pack and clothes falling to the ground as a small black piglet clawed it's way out from under the heavy pack. Tears brimmed as the piglet waved a paw at the sky, as if cursing someone. "BWEE!!!!!!" *** "I think I heard something over there!!", cried one of the villagers. His clothes were torn in several places and he was breathing heavily. He pointed towards a clearing, where he had heard the sounds of a piglet. The others in the party just nodded tiredly, not noticing their original prize slipping by in the brush, heading the other way along the trail, back towards the village as it was chased by a couple of children with water balloons. *** The young man, now black piglet, was in a truly bad mood now. Sitting atop of his clothes, he sighed. Not only had the curse given him this form which while endearing to Akane, left him vulnerable. Looking about and turning as he heard the sounds of leaves rustling and a few weary looking villagers burst into the clearing panting and holding spears, the piglet just sighed. *** "There it is!", cried the villager in the lead as he charged the black piglet, leaving the others to fall to the ground in exhaustion. As if knowing his thoughts, the piglet easily dodged the man's spear and clung to his face, bwee'ing and clawing as the other villagers watched, surprised at the abilities of the small piglet. Rising to stand and help their leader, they too were assaulted, the black piglet leaping from one to another, leaving them unconscious on the ground. *** Quite a few hours later, a somewhat calmer and more humanoid young man sat by a small campfire somewhere. Apparently, in trying to find some hot water to reverse his cursed state, he'd managed to get lost and wandered until he came upon this empty lot, a small fire setup with a kettle of water boiling, which aided him in freeing him from his cursed form. "That Ranma... he's to blame for this.", muttered the young man which by now, most people should recognize as Ryouga. :p "Yeah, he sure is, Ryouga", came a female voice. A red haired girl walked out from behind the ever present stockpiles of lumber to sit beside Ryouga, bapping him on the head. "That was my hot water." Smiling, Ryouga gestered to the now steaming kettle. "I heated up some more water. Do you know what I had to go through today? And to top it off, I wasn't able to finish my fanfic for the contest." "Really? That's too bad. Hey, at least you get to read some of the other fanfics with Akane, right... P-chan?" "GRRrrr.. Don't call me P-Chan!!!!" Laughing as Ranma kicked the kettle up into the air and over herself, she changed herself into a young man again and started to spar with Ryouga, their shadows dancing along the walls of the empty lot. *** Back in the log cabin, somewhere in some forest, a little black piglet was scribbling on the piece of paper with the pencil Ryouga had left behind. '...table. Bwee... bwe bweee... mrmrmr..bwee bwee. BWEEEEee bwee bwee wee.. WeeeEEE!! bwee wee. Wee... Bwe!' The piglet signed her little fanfic with two little black heart shaped prints on the piece of paper and curled up, going to sleep in Ryouga's peaceful cabin. *** At the Tendou Dojo later that night, a bruised Ryouga sat beside a slightly bandaged Ranma-chan. Akane, Nabiki, and Kasumi were reading their email, giggling every now and then. Groaning in unisen, Ryouga and Ranma-chan hung their heads. The End. ============================================================================ The Comments: Okay, this is a last minute fic. I had intended to write something with substance, but realised a few things in the past few days. Namely, working half of the day away and sleeping the rest left little or no time to write up a real fanfic. So, I wrote a bad fanfic. ^_^;; Gomen nasai!!! This fanfic was not pre-read and was not spell-checked. So there will most likely be errors and gross gramatical problems. You've been post-warned. ^_-
