sn100 challenge #56: Winter
There's something about a thick snow in winter that just makes everything quiet. It's times like this that he feels the worst: he's had his share of problems, sure, but it's nothing compared to the people who have nowhere to go to avoid this. The soft crunch of his cane against the fallen snow seems to punctuate his every thought.
"Isaac," came a gravelly voice from the side of the sidewalk, the cup of change jingling softly. "Whaddaya know?"
"How about I buy you a cup of coffee today instead, Richard? The warmth would do you good."
"Thanks, old friend."
