I thought I was done with fear. I'd lived with it every day, while Andrew and Simon were off being heroes, and I'd survived. Lived through the last days with Henry, and I'd survived. I've lost so many people I cared about, I thought I'd gone numb. I think that was why I was so good at my job: I just couldn't be afraid of anyone, or anything, anymore.

Or so I thought... until Margaret turned up that darned TV and I heard that reporter droning on about...

Jed.

Jed's been shot.

Oh God.
