"The Way Things Are" is set in the same continuity as "The
More Things Change", and takes place some time after that
story.  The person he refers to is "The More Things Change"
character Ryo Muhoshin, by Rod M.

Aside from the way this scene ends, it is a direct cut from
part 11 of "The More Things Change".

Belldandy Tendo is from Ross McKenzie's "Descents and
Inversions".

Skeride Gosunkugi is from Chris Willmore's "Ranma 2096"

The Gosunkugi Collective is first seen in the Ranma 2096
story "GOSUNKUGI: Generations" by Rod M.

final scenes yelling each other's names angrily.

Once again, "Gilligan's Island".  Ratiko has taken his
stress out on the poor remains of the S.S. Minnow.
