Sean Gaffney's Fanfics
A short trip into my mind...beware of slight inclines...
This is the page where I keep most of my finished writings. Started writing in May 1996 with very short fanfics released very quickly, and continued through the present day with the fics getting longer and also taking longer to get released. Though I have written more Ranma fics than other universes (see Akari above), I have tried to branch out as well, with a variety of animes covered. So if you don't like Ranma, stick around, there's bound to be something you'll like!
- Sour Times (Nobody Loves Me)
This was my first fanfic, and I still get the occasional mail about it from irate Ukyou fans. I do like her, btw.
- Cast No Shadow
I really don't care for this one now. Oh, well, the archive needs to be complete. Ranma and Akane schmaltz.
This was about when I discovered Akari, and wanted to write something with her. I still like this one, as Ryouga is a favorite of mine.
- Old Red Eyes Is Back
This was my first songfic, back when I realised I wanted to do a music video but didn't have the time, money, or anime shots of Akari. So I wrote it up as a short fic instead. The song is by The Beautiful South.
- I Know Him So Well
My second and favorite songfic, this one is the most like a film script, with tracking shots and everything. The song is from the musical Chess.
- Death Is Not The End
My third Ranma songfic, this one is based on events in Zen's fanfic The Bitter End, and contains spoilers for that story, It's also very dark.
Based off of Chris Willmore's Ranma 2096 series, but not in the same continuity, this is what I came up with when I wanted to give Childra Jansen a happy and fluffy ending. It is very non-canon, and Chris likes to make fun of it now. Oh well...
- Now It's Time to Say Goodbye
Oddly enough, one of my most popular works, which says a lot about the minds of my readers. A Maison Ikkoku fanfic, taking a turn Takahashi probably didn't consider.
The first of a trilogy set in the Ah! My Goddess universe. It's dated rather badly, especially considering new manga chapters, but I still think it works as a sweet little romance...
The second part, which features...a wedding. Fancy that. Note: the third part has been written, but features an explicit (yet tasteful) sex scene, so is on my lemons page. Try to be of age if you read it.
- No Grudges, Part 1
A side story set in Mike Smith and Fred Herriot's controversial Urusei Yatsura: The Senior Year universe.
- No Grudges, Part 2
It features Ryouko Mendou, and does its best to avoid mentioning lesbian clone robots.
- Alternate Lum-san III: Repercussions
This is a sequel to a sequel. Both the prequels were written by Fred Herriot. It's in the TSY universe. It's depressing and angsty. AND it requires a huge knowledge of continuity to fully understand. Despite that, I hope those who choose to read it enjoy it. All two of you. ^_^;;
- Hammer to Fall
A Urusei Yatsura/Ranma crossover that got complicated. And another answer to the perennial mallet question.
- I Am One, Part 1
The Dirty Pair, once one of the most popular fanfic worlds, now rarely used. But I still like 'em. This story only features them in minor roles, though, and mostly focuses on Shasti and Cory Emerson, from Adam Warren's manga.
- I Am One, Part 2
This is part 2, which is much more action oriented, and a little disturbing in places. But our heroes don't die. I promise.
- Made of Stone
A Sailor Moon fanfic, starring myself. No, I'm not making this up. It also features Hotaru, aka Sailor Saturn, and is easily my most popular fanfic to date.
- Trials and Errors
This is a semi-sequel to Made of Stone I co-wrote with Jeff Hosmer. Sean only has a minor role in it, however, because it starts Sailor Pluto. In fact, it stars a lot of Sailor Plutos.
- Won't Get Fooled Again, Part 1
The sequel to I Am One, this features the Dirty Pair Universe, the Heinlein Universe, and characters from Neon Genesis Evangelion. It's the closest I've come to an epic.
- Won't Get Fooled Again, Part 2
In Part Two, things get really, really incredibly complex, angst happens, a lot of people die, and a good time is had by all.
- Won't Get Fooled Again, Part 3
In Part Three, believe it or not, we get even MORE angst and pain than in Part 2. There are crucifixions, emotional breakdowns, and lots of other stuff. Bring the kids!
- Won't Get Fooled Again, Part 4
The final part. Jimmy gets worse, Shasti gets better, Rei goes bonkers, Asuka stays home sick, Kei and Yuri act cool, and Cory insults Lazarus some more.
- The Light That Burns Brightest
Based on the anime Kodomo No Omocha, aka Child's Toy. The fic can be read without it, but it helps to have seen through Episode 11. Oh, and though it's not dark, it is a serious fic.
A Sakura Taisen fic, taking place right at the start of the second game. It's very Matrix-esque, despite my never having seen that movie.
- Three MCs and One Chimera
A rather silly Slayers fanfic, based around a Beastie Boys song. This is meant to be fluffy, folks.
This is based on Martian Successor Nadesico, and focuses on the three female Aestivalis pilots before they arrived on the battleship. It's my usual brand of angst, humor, and light drama.
A Slayers fanfic, starring Lina Inverse and Naga the White Serpent. This is essentially a fanfic about memories and how they shape us, and about sometimes taking the easy way out rather than the right way.
- Dream a Little Dream of Me
A short, sweet Sol Bianca the Legacy fanfic, taking place after the final OVA.
- Everything in Its Right Place
A fanfic in the Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure anime, dealing with Mitsuki Sanada's feelings and the consequences of what happened midway through Episode 13.
A Shoujo Kakumei Utena fanfic. Juri and Shiori talk to each other at graduation about their pasts and their future.
The sequel to Release. A trip through Germany, and a few revalations, told through the journal entries of Shiori.
- In Hiding
The third in the series. Juri travels to Paris, drowning in self-pity, and meets up with a couple of faces from her past.
- So It Is Written
A Read or Die fanfic, drawing on both the novels and the anime. Nenene has been involved in a loving relationship with Yomiko for years. So why is she so worried about Nancy's release from prison?
