Breakfast was going to be at JB's house around nine in the morning. Because I'd volunteered to cook (okay, I HAD to cook, it's a compulsion, I tell ya) I checked out the night before with Dande and Farli and had ordered a wake up call for me at eight. However, I was woken up at seven, because David had to take bum back to the airport and didn't know how to get back there from the hotel. No problem, I said, here are directions. They left, and I slept again. Then, I got up later and went to the supermarket where I got muffin mix and headed over to JB's. She was already awake tending to her birds, with a few other people. Chelsea was making pancakes, and I was on eggs and muffin duty. As today was a "catch as catch can" and a "get people to the airport day" the atmosphere was relaxed and casual...

...except for us finding out that David's van had broken down on the freeway and bum's plane took off without her on it. We sorted things out over a series of frantic phone calls and bum made it back to San Jose safely without having to pay extra for another flight.

Here are the pictures from the morning: Kitarra and I were very evil to Icewing, because we had mentioned Mile High Comics as being part of the plans for Sunday (it being a con tradition, now) and then I was talking about Disneyland to Farli (I was going to take her, the Aussies and Staff on Tuesday). He made the mistake of saying that he wished that he could change his flight arrangements, and that's when we got to work. We told him that he could check and see if he could change his flight without penalty. We cajoled him, saying "When's the next time you're going to be in the area?" We dangled Disneyland in front of him, like a carrot on a stick. Kitarra even called his airline company for him, saying that there was a flight that he could get on and it wouldn't cost him any extra. Finally, he said, "Alright, fuck y'all. If I'm going to stay, we're going to Disneyland, damnit, and y'all are going to watch my plane leave." We agreed, and left him alone to tell the "bad news" to Jason that his flight was overbooked and he would be getting home the next day. Kit and I exchaned high fives.

No one was really sure what they wanted to do on Sunday. After most of the dishes had been cleared, like magic, JB appeared with sidewalk chalk, and seeing as there was this nice big black cul-de-sac to play with, we grabbed the chalk and went to town. The group split at this time. It had to happen. Dyce and Falstaff wanted to go back to their rooms, and seeing as Mile High was in Orange County (along with Disneyland and their hotel), I decided to lead Falstaff to the store. Kitarra had to take Kielle back home and she said she'd meet us at the store. Everyone else went to Starbucks, where I was told they stayed for about two hours, then went to a park where they got to watch Pebbs and Dande shoot hoops. You'll have to check the Miscellaneous page for any accounts of that.

So after a long drive, some of us found ourselves at Mile High Comicswhere Dawnielle and Daniel the manager were not in, but Orion was. As usual, everyone fell in love with the store, with again the usual exclamations of people wanting to live in the store. It was Icewing's turn to be evil to Falstaff, for every time he said, "Oh, there's another Alex Ross poster", Falstaff would look at the poster in awe, then turn to him and say, "I hate you, man." We got our usual discount (how much is it? Come to Subrealicon and find out!) and took this year's Subrealicon goes Mile High pic. Dyce and Falstaff went to the hotel and we went to Disneyland.

Bonus section: Sluts at Disneyland

Seeing as I was the designated Mouse employee for this con, I signed in Icewing, Kymscrazy and Melodist, girlyskin bought her own pass, and I bought one for Chandri, because she had gone with us to Mile High Comics. Kitarra had her own annual pass, so off we went. We did most of the major rides, and even went to Hell (on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride). We had to almost drag Melodist away from the Star Trader, because that's where they have the Star Wars merchandise. She bought a Darth Maul baseball cap that unfortunately got lost on Big Thunder Mountain.Icewing and Kitarra left around nine because his plane left at 11:45, which left us five girls to our own devices. And then, we saw Fantasmic!, took some more pictures and left. Hey, we were tired, okay? I dropped them off at the gazebo at Kielle's, then went home.

Here's a smattering of pics of the Sluts at Disneyland: So there endeth the webmistress' account of Subrealicon. What? You want more, you say? Oh, alright...
