Several months have passed since the Second Day of Darkness.

Gideon, working with Wasyuu and Miki, has finally completed and
multiply tested the Trans-Dimensional Trump Gate, and it's ready to
send you home.

It's as safe as anything built by Gideon and Wasyuu could be, really.

Corrine idly waits for the group to gather, rocking on the balls of
her feet, trying not to look TOO nervous, clad in her Ember-slacks
getup and having a small bag of stuff nearby.  Her hair's grown out,
shoulder-length, and she's got an arm again.  Misaki hovers nearby
like a mother hen.

Wasyuu bounces about the machine, running final checks as you gather
your stuff, and prepare for a final goodbye.

Juri of Avalon arrives with Roderick, Eternity's Rose on her right
hip, Ilvig on her left, looking coiffed and elegant, and a little sad.

Roderick alternates between looking confident and brief fits of
intense terror every time he looks at the machine.  He's strapped
Narsil across his back, and the shadow spikard on his right hand
gleams. [spoofed by Akemi]

Corrine looks over as Juri enters, and she manages a smile.  "Hey
there... got everything you think you'll need?"

Corrine looks between Gideon, Roderick, and Juri, but mostly lingering on
Juri.

Miki, Madoka, and Kozue are here to see you off.  Miki's been here
most of the time anyway, and is still in his work clothing.  Madoka
wears her usual blouse and pants.  Kozue, on the other hand, wears a
quite elegant dress and seems faintly annoyed the other two aren't
dressed up.

Sadly, it appears Prince Shizumaru will not be appearing, as Gabrielle has
informed you he's in the middle of a rather dangerous part of his shadow
quest to find his mother.  There's a Gabrielle present, but she seems
constantly distracted, and sometimes numbers dance around her.

Gideon finishes final adjustments and heads over to the others. A
metal chest with his belongings already stands by the gate.

Juri of Avalon nods.  "Everything I can take with me," she says,
smiling softly.

Shizumaru OOCly says, "Oh, and I did give the other Flawed
Patternblade back to Juri."

Corrine looks worriedly at Gabrielle, and makes sure that Gabrielle's at
least got a a recording monitor on.

Juri of Avalon says, "OOC: Juri would've returned it to Shizumaru,
saying she had more than enough weapons already."
Shizumaru OOCly says, "Oh. Nifty. :)"

Corrine nods to Juri, and looks among the group, as if not sure who
shouls speak first.

Juri of Avalon coughs into her fist.  "I forget.  Do the guests or the
hosts go first?"

Corrine says, "I"

Corrine says, "I'm not sure."  She smiles slightly.  "This is kinda a
first.  Isn't like we got a big sendoff from Rod's amber, or Avalon when
we breezed through...."

Wasyuu walks quietly over to Gideon and whispers to him.

Roderick says, "Well, we didn't quite realize the full extent of what we
were getting into when we left my Amber." [spoofed by Akemi]

Juri of Avalon glances over at him and smiles.  "No.  That we didn't."

Roderick says, "For good or ill." [spoofed by Akemi]

Corrine chuckles a bit.  "This... is true.  But even so."  She takes a
breath.  "I'm glad you came along.  Here, there, and everywhere.  You
three have helped to expand my horizons when I thought I knew what it all
was... I hope that I'll be a better Queen and mother now for going through
it with you."

Gideon chuckles softly and hugs Wasyuu, whispering something back to
her.

Corrine says, "Know that wherever you travel, wherever you roam, three
flames will burn for you in Ember, eternal, to light the path home." She
manages another smile, trying not to look like she's going to break down
-that- much.  "And... hell, here, lemme get the last of the Queenly bits
out of the way..."

Corrine rummages in her bag, and pulls out three sub-bags, which she
hands to Gideon, Roderick, and Juri.

Wasyuu floats up high enough to actually kiss Gideon and nods at him.

Roderick takes his and looks inside. [spoofed by Akemi]

Juri of Avalon rolls her eyes at Gideon and Washuu, but smiles
slightly, and looks inside the bag.

Miki, and Madoka, and Kozue move a little closer, and you can tell
they have something for those departing as well.

Inside each bag is a small trump case with the Ember Pyricorn on it, a
small snap-close box like those for jewelry, two paintings bound together
(about tabletop size)... and a Corrine Plushie, tanned and wearing her
warden's uniform.

Gideon steps back from Wasyuu and smiles at her, slipping something
into a pocket, before turning to Corrine and taking the bag, looking
into it.

One of the paintings is the same for each of them -- the four of them,
posed together on the slopes of Kolvir, looking out over a clear ocean,
clad in the stuff they were adventuring in.  The other three paintings are
different.

Juri of Avalon's eyes tremble a bit.  "Thank you, Corrine... I wish I had
parting gifts for you, for everyone, but..."  She chuckles, somewhat
throatily.  "Well, I did give Shizumaru that list."

Juri's painting is her posed with trenchcoat, blowing in the wind,
ilvig in one hand, Eternity's rose in the other, a spoon in her jacket
pocket, and a broad smile on her face.  Its title: "The Crusader."

Corrine smiles wavers, and she manages a chuckle.  "I'm sure it'll
find good use, Juri..." she blushes, and coughs.

Gumi-Roderick takes Juri's hand.

Roderick's painting is him posed, smiling towards the viewer,
partially in profile, hands lifted as he conjures a twist of roses
between them -- orange, silver, red, purple.  It's title, "The
Conjurer". [spoofed by Aerianne]

Corrine moves over to Juri, lookign up at her eyes, her own trembling a
bit.  "Well... um... hm..."

Juri of Avalon smiles at the painting.  "It's lovely, Corrine.  I'll
hang it in my room.  To remind myself of how others see me, in those
times when I find it hard to see myself in the right light."  She
squeezes Roderick's hand.

Corrine smiles more fully.  "I'm glad.  You need more reminders."

Roderick grins and looks at his painting.  "I'll have a copy made and give
it to Otho."  He laughs.  "Thanks, Corrine.  I just hope I can keep it
from getting torn until I can mount it." [spoofed by Akemi]

Juri of Avalon chuckles, and removes her hand from Roderick's,
flourishing an orange rose in it.  "The Conjurer indeed."  She extends it
to Corrine.  "Take this, Corrine.  To remember me by.  In Avalon, it is
the sign by which I am known."

Gideon's painting is him in his red and black leathers, his normal
hand holding his gun pointed down, his other hand lifted up, fingers
crossed and liquid blue, holding a trump of himself between it. His
look behind his glasses implies that he knows the secrets of the
universe within him.  Its title: "The Creator."

Corrine smiles, and takes the rose carefully, as if afraid to crush
it.  "I'd give you a silver rose, Juri, or a maple leaf... but Anthy's not
around." Her hands tremble a little, and she hands the rose over to
Misaki, so her own hands can be free.

Misaki takes it.

Gideon smiles and closes the bag again, his clothing shifting slightly to
add a belt which he attaches the bag to. "Thank you, Corrine," he says
quietly.

Roderick asks, "So what does that make you?" [spoofed by Akemi]

Corrine says, "You're welcome Roderick, Gideon..." She looks like she's
trying harder to keep back the tears now... She then blinks, taken off
guard by by the question.  "Um... I dunno?  The Cute One?"  She tries
smiling impishly.

Gideon reaches into his pocket again with a look of concentration,
then pulls something out again. A small plush Gideon wearing a squid
like a hat, and looking unhappy about it. He holds it out to Corrine
with a grin. "Would you accept this little bit of Ravager Beast
merchandise to remember me by?"

Juri of Avalon nods and grins.  "That will do, I suppose.  Or perhaps The
Comforter." She reaches out her hands to Corrine.  "The Compassionate
One."

Corrine blinks at the little plushie.

Corrine can't help herself, and starts giglling, and accepts it.  She hugs
it close to her chest, and kisses the little gideon on its forehead. 
"Accepted and treasured, Gideon of avalon."  She then hands it to Misaki
as well, as Juri takes her hands, and she starts a little, and blushes,
but smiles, a slight bit of tears gathering at the corner of her eyes. 
"That... that works.  We've all needed it. 'strives to be water, to bring
healing to all'... I just hope I've managed to do it."

Roderick says, "Well if all this didn't build a bond between three
imperiled worlds, I don't know what would."  He claps Corrine's
shoulder.  "Next time you come visiting, try not to bring a giant
squid with you, though, Corrine."  He grins. [spoofed by Akemi]

Juri of Avalon squeezes Corrine's hands tightly.  "I worried sometimes
that it would be your downfall," she says softly.  "I have heard some
people say there is such a thing as being too kind.  I do not believe it. 
I only wish I could have your strength of heart, Corrine."

Corrine laughs, a little tremously.  "I'll try not, roderick.  With my
luck, though, it'll be Demetrius's Abyss Sub or something."  She squeezes
back, looking up at Juri again.  "I think you do, Juri... you just need
practice with it... with roderick by your side." Her smile faulters
slightly.  "And I only wish I could have your steel when needed, Juri. 
Tempered yet strong to bring justice..."

And for a moment, in the distant back of your minds (Well, Corrine and
Juri's minds...), a bust speaks as it did long ago.  Orpheus says, "Be sun
to her moon, light to her shade, support and strong arm, and stand united
together against the unity of your foes."

Corrine -blinks- at that, eyes wide, and then HUGS Juri.  Not
crushingly tight, but very close, head against shoulder, crying.

Gideon takes a step back, watching Juri and Corrine with a smile.

Corrine murmurs, choked up, into Juri's ear.

Roderick steps back. [spoofed by Akemi]

Juri of Avalon kisses Corrine's hair and holds her tightly, beginning to
cry herself.  "You complete me," she whispers, "sister, friend, light,
sun; oh, my sun, how am I to go on without you?"

Corrine blushes lot at this, but continues holding, murmuring back.
"... i dunno... i dunno... sister in spirit, good unicorn and pyricorn I
do not know... we have to, for all our worlds, moonlight and sunlight
together, cycles in day and night..."

Roderick puts a hand on Juri's shoulder, but otherwise stays back.
Miki quietly approaches Gideon while they're busy. [spoofed by Akemi]

Gideon turns away to give the two at least some semblance of privacy, and
walks over to Miki as he sees him approaching.

You page, "[Corrine] *mentally sent, through skin contact* <<*support*
*reassurance* *fear* *love* *acceptance* *longing* *hope* *need*
*sisterhood* *-family-*>>" to Kima.

Juri of Avalon practically clings to Corrine, no longer speaking,
simply holding her.  At last she croaks, "I will miss you so much."

Kima pages, "[Juri] *love*doubt*love*fear*love*darako*corrine*love*"
to you.

Miki quietly hands a small sphere to Gideon and talks to him quietly.

Corrine holds Juri just as tight, wanting to extend the moment as long as
she can damn well do it.  "...as will i, juri... as will i, sister juri...
don't wanna loose another sister but isn't losing just moving out of touch
for a while...."

You page, "[Corrine]
*love*doubt**love**fear**love**juri-Amber**juri-Avalon**love*" to
Kima.

Corrine manages, somehow, to whisper something in Juri's ear, even
through the crying, unheard by the rest.

You page, "[Corrine] *vvvq* ... can't be darako -shouldn't- be darako but
dammit gonna be the best damn -corrine- for you that i can be, juri..." to
Kima.

Miki says a little more loudly, "And if you don't end up needing it,
it'll make a good memento."

Juri of Avalon shakes her head.  "No.  We will find some way to visit. You
will come to my land.  I shall show  you the gardens, the terraces, the
rivers, of Avalon... my school, my family... I will return to yours. 
These last few months, it has been as though I were a part of your family,
so like and so different from my own."

Gideon chuckles softly and adds another something to the contents of
his pockets. "That it will do."

Corrine nods, pulling back a little bit so as to look Juri in the eyes
again, managing to compose herself somewhat.  "Yes... somehow... good
unicorn and pyricorn we will.  someday.  it's not a goodbye, it's just a
delayed "hello, again"..."

Juri of Avalon nods and finally lets Corrine go.  "I... well... this
could go on forever.  But... well..."  She sniffles and wipes at her
eyes.  "If I let myself go on, I'll never be able to leave.  And I
think my family--the family whose blood I share--will need me soon."

Miki steps forward.  "If we can have just a moment of your time."

Juri of Avalon turns to him and smiles.  "Of course," she says gently. "Of
course, Miki."

"For I still owe you a debt of gratitude, I doubt I will ever be able to
repay."

Corrine nods.  "Right." She lets go as well, clearly reluctantly.
"Should you ever need me to come for you, Juri... to help out with
anything, y'know... don't hesitate to call."  She manages a smile, and
pulls back to let Miki speak.

Madoka says, "We all do."

Juri of Avalon blushes a little.  "I was just glad to be able to
help," she murmurs.  "I... it was an honour.  A pleasure."

Kozue steps foward, holding a small object which resembles a snow
globe, although the room it shows inside is the conservatory of Castle
Amber, not a place you'd expect to find snow.

Juri of Avalon looks at it inquiringly.

She says, "I was never very close to our Juri.  In fact, I think she
probably still despises me.  But you..."Her voice begins to choke up, and
she thrusts it at you.  "Miki and I made this." She paused. "Madoka
helped."  Another pause.  "Shake it."

Corrine manages a slight smile at Kozue, and then looks curiously at
the snow-globe-thingie.

Juri of Avalon takes it gently from Kozue, letting their hands touch
for longer than needed, and shakes it.

The snow rises up, and then as it falls, images flicker into life, and the
snowglobe grows to become the world.  And as you watch, the events of the
night you rescued Miki re-enact themselves.

Juri of Avalon's eyes widen in wonder.

The music rises around you, and those who were present can see
themselves from the outside, gazing upon what they did.

Corrine just -stares-.

Gideon arches an eyebrow, but says nothing.

Corrine looks like she's trying to -intently- study the events within the
globe -- er, room... er , seeing where she is among the people, actions
and reactions. *q* ".. by the four heraldric beasts..."

Music and disharmony clash in a rising crescendo, until the triumph is
achieved, and Miki stumbles into your arms and cries.

And as you cry together, the music fades, and the images dwindle, and the
last of the snow falls.

And Kozue says softly, "Whenever the night is dark, and you wonder if you
have ever made a difference to anyone, shake that, and remember what you
did for us, and know that you made all the difference in the world for us.
 For we will never forget you."  Two tears are leaking from her eyes.

Juri of Avalon looks up at Kozue and Miki and Madoka, tears in her
eyes.  "Thank you," she whispers.  "It's... perfect.  The most
wonderful, perfect thing the three of you could give me."  Then,
hesitantly, she holds out her arms to Kozue.

Corrine nods, moving back and watching the four.

She steps foward and embraces you, beginning to cry on your shoulder.

Juri of Avalon hugs her tightly and strokes her hair, whispering
something in her ear as she does.

Kozue whispers back to Juri.

Juri of Avalon pulls back from Kozue finally, kissing her gently on
the forehead as she does and looking down at her with tremendous love and
affection and understanding.  She turns to Miki and Madoka, opens her
mouth to speak, then cannot seem to find the words.

Kozue steps back, smiling through her tears.

"I..." Juri stumbles.  Then she just holds out her arms to them, as
she did for Kozue.

Shizumaru OOCly sighs. Heading home...send me a log, Phil.

They rush forward and embrace you.  Miki is crying.  Madoka simply has a
strange look of mingled pain and joy.

Shizumaru has disconnected.
>> Shizumaru bows, says, "Gomen nasai. Mou ikimasu," and runs off.

Corrine manages a slight, sad smile, brushing tears from her eyes
again.

Juri of Avalon holds them both, sobbing and murmuring to them.

Roderick has the look of a man pretending he isn't bothered by another man
embracing his girlfriend. [spoofed by Akemi]

Wasyuu stomps on his foot, so he can think about pain instead.

Gideon looks at Wasyuu and shakes his head, smiling briefly.

Juri of Avalon lets them go, kisses them both on the forehead, and
steps back, looking pretty ragged emotionally, tears streaming down
her face.

You page, "(... you don't know how hard it is Corrine's trying to keep
herself from rushing over to Juri and -kissing- her tears away. *fwl*)" to
Kima.

Wasyuu says, "Oh, Juri, there's something important I have to tell you
before you go."

Corrine considers, and moves over, and offers Juri a hankercheif, with a
little embroidered silver maple leaf on one corner.

She holds up a piece of paper. "I finished the tests on your checkup
from two days ago.  I'm afraid you're pregnant.  And it appears that
Utena is the mother."

Corrine says, "......"

Roderick, now recovered, steps on Wasyuu's foot. [spoofed by Akemi]

Corrine says, "Don't make me mallet you, Wasyuu."  She manages a grin.

Wasyuu waves the paper!  "I'm serious!  You're preggers!  And Utena is the
mother!!!!!  Why won't anyone believe me???"

Juri of Avalon turns to Washuu and clears her throat, trying to look
composed.  She takes the handkerchief and blows her nose on it.  Then she
blinks.  "I think I would remember if I had slept with Utena." Pause.  "At
least, I _hope_ I would."  She turns to Rod and smiles. "Got any ideas for
names?"

Roderick asks, "Boy or girl?" [spoofed by Akemi]

Wasyuu says, "Girl."

You page, "I take it this was the first time Corrine's heard of this?" to
Akemi and Kima. Akemi pages, "It's the first time either has heard this
:)" to you and Kima. Kima pages, "First time _Juri's_ heard of it.  :)" to
you and Akemi.

Corrine blinks, as something finally gets through corrine's brain.
"Wait a second.... you ARE pregnant, Juri?"

Corrine -stares-.

Roderick looks thoughtful.  "How about Horatia?  Name her after your
nephew.  I'm sure he'd be honored."  He sounds ever so slightly
nervous about this. [spoofed by Akemi]

You page, "I beleive Corrine's known of her own pregnancy since
Shizu's departure on his quest, but I don't know how far the info's
spread." to Akemi and Kima.

Gideon just looks at Roderick.

Corrine looks at Roderick, too.

Corrine looks at Gideon, then back at Roderick, then at Juri.

Gumi-Roderick blinks at Gideon.  "What, does that mean 'Die screaming' in
other universes or something?"

Juri of Avalon nods and smiles, looking a bit stunned.  "I think
that's a good idea.  He'd be flattered."  She turns to Gideon.  "Gid, what
do you think?"

Corrine says, "I'll just keep myself out of the blast radius, thank
you very much..." *she quirks a smile*

Gideon shrugs. "Poor girl, to be cursed with such a name."

Corrine says, "Hey, I'm sure she'll overcome it."

Juri of Avalon grabs Gideon and noogies him.  "Want to be her
godfather, freak?"

Corrine says, "With parents like -them-," she jerks a thumb towards
Juri and Roderick, "And an uncle like -you-, welll...." She grins.

Gideon baps Juri on the head. "Who are you calling a freak, hm? -I- am not
planning to name my daughter after nerdboy."

Corrine giggles a bit more, and idly lets her left hand drift briefly
towards her abdomen, before clasping her hands behind herself and moving
over towards Juri again.

The machine pings.  "Four minutes to the maximal dimensional alignment for
the next forty years."

Juri of Avalon puts Gideon in a headlock.  "He's not a nerdboy, he's
just... well, okay, he's a bit of a nerdboy.  But he's very sweet.  I
wonder if he's met somebody by now."  She looks up.  "Thank God.  This
thing is on a timer.  That means we'll actually be forced to stop saying
goodbyes at some point."

Corrine looks at the machine, sighs, and nods.  "Right.  WEll.  Best
grab what you need up and stuff... but first, juri?  One little
thing... well, two, actually.  Okay, -three-."

Roderick says, "Oh, I'm sure he probably has lots of girlfriends.  If
there's anything being a prince is good for..." [spoofed by Akemi]

Corrine taps juri on the shoulder and gets on her toes to whisper in
her ear again.

Miki heads over to the machine to monitor a few things.  Kozue and
Madoka drift after him.  Wasyuu floats up to give Gideon another hug
and kiss.  "You did framgle the framistan, right?" she asks him.

You page, "[Corrine] Not sure if you knew this already, 'cause it
may've slipped my mind.. but well, my own tests came back, and I'm
with child.  That's one.  A girl.  That's two.  And.... if it's all
right with you, both Carl and I would like to name her... Kanna Darako
Kusanagi.  That's three." to Kima.

Gideon hugs Wasyuu and nods. "Did that. Don't worry ... everything
will work as it should, and with a bit of luck I'll be back just in
time."

Kima pages, "[Juri] That would be perfect.  How does Horatia
Corrine... I don't know.  I'll have to see if Roderick has a last
name." to you.

You page, "[Corrine smiles.  "I'd be honored... and I'm sure you'll be
able to figure something out.  Kusanagi was harold's last name, the red
knight doesn't -technically- have one.  It just flowed well."]" to Kima.

Corrine hugs Juri again, one last time, and gives her a kiss on the
cheek.

Wasyuu nods.  "Just remember, don't blow up."  And then she floats
over to the machine to take up her operating postion.

Juri of Avalon hugs Corrine back, kisses her on the cheek, and steps
towards the machine, sniffling and waving.

Juri of Avalon says, "Say goodbye to everyone else for me, please.
Shizumaru.  Hiko.  Nanami.  All your family."

Corrine then moves over to Roderick, shakes his hand, then hugs him
breifly.  "You take care of my sister, Roderick.  Treat her well.  Or else
I'll have to hop universes AGAIN just to kick your ass, y'hear?" She then
kisses him on the cheek, too.

Gideon winks at Wasyuu, "Don't worry ... even if I do, I'll get
better."

Corrine nods.  "I will, Juri.  WE've got gaby recording,b ut I know
it's not nearly the same... and Gid?"

Juri of Avalon nods.  "He will.  I've seen it happen."

Corrine turns, and hugs him quickly.  "Don't blow up, either.
Otherwise it'll make it hard to send correspondance to all your bits
and pieces."  She grins, and gives -Gideon- a quick kiss on the cheek.

Roderick kisses Corrine back on the cheek.  "I'll treat her the best I
can.  Goodbye, my friend.  Don't be a stranger, Corrine."  He then heads
over with Juri, quickly checking to make sure Narsil is stowed securely. 
"This thing had better work better than the Quantum Leap accelerator,
Gideon." [spoofed by Akemi]

Corrine says, "Just you wait, one day I'll turn up on your doorstep
with my library card, Gideon!"

The voice of Kafuin bellows down.  "We may have a minor problem, lads and
lasses."

Corrine hums the Quantum Leap theme, despite herself.

Juri of Avalon murmurs, "Horatia Corrine... Roderick, do you have a
last name?"

Corrine blinks, looking up.  "What is it, Kaifun?"

Gideon chuckles and hugs Corrine. "I'll be waiting." He then heads
over to the Gate, picking up a chest with his stuff.

Roderick says, "I usually just call myself Bleyson if I need one."
[spoofed by Akemi]

Corrine says, "There's always d'Ambrelle... that's what I tend to use for
a last name alias..."

Corrine looks worriedly up again, towards where Kaifun's voice spoke.

Juri of Avalon hrms.  "Horatia Corrine Bleyson?  Horatia Corrine
d'Avalon?"  She pauses at Kafuin.

Corrine says, "That second seems to work better..."

Gideon hms. "What's the problem, Kafuin?"

Gumi-Roderick smiles.  "Perhaps just d'Amber for the last name, as
Father uses that as well at times."

"War Rocket Ajax approaching."

Corrine says, "... erm."

Corrine says, "That sounds bad."

Gideon sighs. "War Rocket Ajax."

Juri of Avalon blinks.  "Pardon?"

"Ping.  Two minutes to Maximal Alignment."

The gateway begins to hum, and soft music plays.

Juri of Avalon says, "What the hell is War Rocket Ajax?  Is everything
going to be all right?  Maybe we should..."

Juri of Avalon looks around with her hands on her weapons, as though
in search of something to maim or kill.

Gideon says, "What you should is get ready to go through the gate as
soon as we reach maximal alignment."

Corrine takes deep breaths, trying to calm herself.  "Is it something to
do with Shizumaru and Michelle, Kaifun?"

Juri of Avalon sighs.  "But... oh well.  I suppose they can handle a
mere War Rocket."

A voice drifts out of the gate, a memory of times past...It is the
voice of Corrine.  "How may we return to our homes?"  Orpheus says,
"Ride the phoenix at the heart of leviathan."  Vecna says, "Kill the
dreams of a family."  Branch says, "Jump through the hoop, boy!"

"I believe the makers of that train sent it.  Shall I cast it into the
Shadow of Fire?"

Kozue says, "I will deal with this 'war rocket ajax', whatever it is. Go
now while you still can."

Her face is grim and she scans the sky.

Corrine looks at the three cross-dimensional travelers.  "Go and do
it, guys.  We'll hold the line here."

Juri of Avalon says, "Be careful, Kozue."

Juri of Avalon says, "And all of you."

Corrine nods; "We will.  May the four heraldric beasts guide your
path, and may the sun always light your way."

Gideon nods and gets ready. "Good luck, all of you, and fare well
until we meet again."

Kozue turns and grins confidently at Juri.  "Nothing good comes unless you
reach out with both hands and grab it.  Then hold on and don't let go. 
I'll show these fools what it means to trifle with a princess of the
blood."

Corrine chuckles.  "And with the full power of the Queen of Ember, if need
be."

Juri of Avalon prepares to go through the gate whenever it is time.

In the distance, you can see a war rocket approaching.  The words
'Ajax' and 'Zig-01' are painted on its side as it arcs over the shadow of
fire.

Corrine looks over, and sighs.  "Don't these fools -ever- get a clue?"

And then, from across the water, a bi-plane rises and flies towards
the rocket.

Corrine raises eyebrows at the biplane.

Kozue begins to smile.

And then the biplane opens fire with advanced energy weapons.

Corrine OOCly says, "Oh, question.  Who's got the Spoon?  Just for
reference's sake."

"Ping.  Twenty seconds to maximal alignment."

Corrine OOCly says, "(since I figure that would've been decided
beforehand.)"

There is a terrible silence.

Juri of Avalon says, "OOC: Juri would have snapped like a rabid dog at
anyone who tried to permanently take the spoon from her.  :)" Corrine
OOCly says, "That answers that! :)"

And then the war rocket explodes.  For a moment, you see a man in red
armor plummeting, and then he vanishes, trumping out.

The biplane roars up into the clouds above and vanishes.

Corrine OOCly says, "Red Armor look familiar?"
OOC HE's too far away to tell.
Corrine OOCly says, "darn. Ohwell."

"Ping.  Maximal Alignment."  You hear the voice of Juri drift out of
the gate, another memory.  "Look, can you just please tell us plainly what
the hell we're supposed to do, you stupid primal powers?  Because I'm
frankly sick of being jerked around!"  Orpheus says, "Pursue the pawns of
your sister's killer, Princess Juri."  Juri of Avalon looks as though
she's just been slapped across the face at that.  Vecna says, "Destroy
those who would bring revolution to your universe, Princess Corrine."

The gate roars to life, and through it, you can see the Keep of the
Four Worlds flickering.  It is night there.

Corrine closes her eyes as the words drift out, and tears fall from
her eyes.  "Jump, Juri... Jump, -now-!"

Corrine opens eyes wide, HAVING to watch.

Roderick seizes Juri's hand.  "See you later, alligators!" [spoofed by
Akemi]

Gideon nods, "Okay, let's go." Two steps take him through the gate.

Juri of Avalon takes Roderick's hand, casts a look behind, whispers,
"Goodbye", and leaps through the gate.

You see a figure running furiously towards you all.

For a moment, the trio hangs in the gate as it begins to shunt them to
another universe.

Corrine waves back.  "....goodbye... and hello?"

Corrine's head snaps towards the figure running towards them.

And then there is a discordant jangle.  Smoke belches from the
machine.

But given the moment, it doesn't seem importanat.  Still....

Corrine says, "..."

"...aaaait... waaaaiiiit..."

You hear a strange cry, "Telekeli!"

Corrine exclaims, "What THE?!"

And then the voice of Branch... "Damn, y'all be SO fuckered, it ain't even
funny."

Corrine's eyes widen further.  "--- the HELL?"

"..... paaaaaage seeeeveeeeeeen!!  whaaaat's oon paaa.."

Corrine looks at Wasyuu and Miki.  "What's Happening?"

Corrine scans with Trump senses and Patternsight.

Juri of Avalon blinks, and then her eyes widen with realization.  Juri
shouts back, "Check with Corrine!  She has the full version!"

Miki sweats and begins furiously flipping switches and adjusting
knobs.  "Something's gone wrong!"

And then there is a flash, and you see the world beyond the gate
change.

And Juri and Gideon and Roderick wink out.

Juri of Avalon suddenly says, "No!  Gideon, what you--" And then her
voice cuts off.

Shaft comes running into the scene just when the flash hits.  "WHAT'S ON
PAGE SE- Shit."

Corrine exclaims, "GAH!"

And then the machine begins to emit smoke.  "Ping.  This device will
dramtically explode in five seconds.  four..."

Corrine exclaims, "SHIT!  Duck and Cover!"

Shaft stares at the machine.  "Wha?"

Miki grabs Madoka and Kozue and sprints towards Corrine.

Corrine gets folks out of the way, even as Misaki moves to cover her
Queen.

Kafuin quickly trumps the device into the water shadow.  You see a
HUGE EXPLOSION.

Corrine says, "...... good unicorn and pyricorn what happened...."

And then, you hear the voice of Fiona, "Vengeance is mine."

Shaft stares.  "Oooh, this ain't good."

Kafuin says, "It blew up, lass."

Corrine BLINKS.  Her eyes narrow. "... -Fiona-?!"

Kozue says, "Show yourself, bitch!!!!"

Corrine's fists clench at her sides.

Shaft draws Justice forth.

You page, "Draw on Gabrielle for mental defense." to Akemi and
Mercutio.
Mercutio pages, "Sure, why not?" to you and Akemi.

Corrine says, "Careful, Shaft... Fiona, any of them, is a powerful
sorceress."

"Only stupid villains in pulp novels come out to gloat.  And only
stupid heroes expect them to do so.  Have a nice day.  This has been a
recording."

Shaft blinks slowly.

A small rock near where the device was bursts into flames and burns
away.

Shaft approaches the rock curiously

Corrine snarls under her breath, and -stares- at where the rock was.
"Well.  -Fuck-."

The rock hangs out in a rock like manner.

Shaft says, "Um... yeah."

Well, its ashes do.

Shaft pokes at the ashes with Justice curiously.

Corrine says, "... dammit... damnit... damnit.... Wasyuu, Kozue, scan the
area for anything possibly left behind by Fiona... I don't know if you'll
find anything, though."

Shaft mutters, "Yeah, he'll find Fiona's mom is Utena...."

Corrine says, "don't know if it was the Fiona of the Black
Unicorn... for all I know, it might've been one of theirs..." she
shakes her head, and lets out a long sigh.

Corrine looks over and down at Juri's orange rose, and gideon's little
plushie w/ squid hat.  She trembles a little, and falls to her knees, and
starts to cry.

Shaft says, "...."

Corrine wraps her arms around herself, and cries more.

Miki comes over to Corrine, kneels, and hugs her.

Kozue says, "Shaft, keep watch.  I'll try and see if they left
anything behind."

Misaki looks at her queen with concern, and moves over to be a
supporting presence.

Corrine whimpers, "good unicorn and pyricorn i miss them already,
miki... and now... now i don't know... good unicorn...."

Shaft nods and watches, cursing Fiona for ruining any chance of him
asking about page 7 and beyond for the foreseeable day.

Madoka yells at Kafuin, "Did you get a reading on this?'

Corrine rocks in Miki's arms.

Kafuin says, "I'm afraid most of my processing power is currently
running a golem in hand to hand combat with Shub-Niggurath, and so I
didn't get much data, lassie."

Mikage says, "OOC I thought she got dumped in the whirlpool."

Shaft taps his ring.  "Mo, property scan, outsider an' magic."

Gumi-Roderick says, "OOC Outer Gods don't die easy :)"
Corrine OOCly says, "maybe it was her twin sister."
Gumi-Roderick says, "OOC To be precise, Shizumaru is currently in a
Shadow where the Gate of Revolution is open and the Outsiders rule. "
Corrine OOCly says, "Which, to put it bluntly... sucks." Shaft asks,
"OOCly NOW you see now far you've wandered, Droo?"

There is a pause.  "Ahh, he's out.  Much better."

Shizumaru OOCly gapes.
Corrine OOCly says, "I.e, Embra"
Mikage says, "OOC Bloody hell. Nice one, Shiz."
Corrine OOCly says, "For once, Derith had done something RIGHT in
sealing it away."
Seamus says, "Luckly, you have the good stuff for Deux Exs."

Mikage says, "That would be Deus Ex. ^^;"

Corrine manages to calm a bit, looking back up, wiping the tears away from
her eyes.  "Good unicorn.. where -were- they?"  She shudders.

Corrine OOCly says, "Well, they got it off a back lot."

attacked by Black Unicorn-Amber' to the Keep writeup?"

Corrine OOCly says, "It gives the folks their chances to practice
their skills... why not?"

Gumi-Roderick says, "OOC No, they won't try again for a while :)"

Gumi-Roderick says, "OOC Especially as they think they killed their
main target :)"

Shizumaru OOCly says, "When Shizumaru realizes the BU-Amber folks were
behind this, he may just declare Jihad on them."

Corrine OOCly says, "Ah-hah.  Ahwell.  So. Anything else left in the
scene or we pretty much gonna wrap up on 'em?"

Gumi-Roderick says, "OOC That's a wrap."

Shizumaru OOCly says, "Cool. Phil, send me a log when it's cleaned
up. :)"

Gumi-Roderick says, "OOC Wasyuu stays a while, investigating the
wreckage, then gloomily hops on a flying bed and zooms off silently
afterwards."

Corrine OOCly says, "Righto. *wl*"

Corrine OOCly says, "Corrine looks around as well, sighs quietly,
tells shaft that she'll get him a copy of The Abridged List when she
gets home, and then trumps off with Misaki and her remaining
items... mentally promising to check up on things later.  For the
moment, she's going to grieve."

Shaft says, "OOCLy shaft goes and... you know."

Corrine OOCly says, "(the thing to be later checked... Did Miki,
Wasyuu, and Gideon leave -notes- for that thing. *wl*) But that's for
another day.  Or year.  Or 4 decades.  You know how it is."

Shizumaru OOCly says, "Wait, won't Corrine meet Angus, then? :)"

Shizumaru OOCly says, "Since we arrive back at the Keep about 20
minutes later."

Corrine OOCly says, "Hrm."

Shizumaru OOCly says, "And we do so want to see Angus meeting
Darako. I mean, Corrine."

Corrine OOCly says, "She might have, but you guys played it as if we
weren't there, I think.  Though, hm."

Corrine OOCly looks to the GM's verdict for that one.

Shizumaru OOCly says, "Well, Angus might have stepped into the Keep
Fortress just before leaving, to catch his breath."

Gumi-Roderick says, "OOC Hmm. "

Gumi-Roderick ooc waffles.

Shaft exclaims, "TOSS THE COIN!"

Gumi-Roderick says, "OOC R8ight.  Call it, Phil :)"

Corrine OOCly I'm good either way.  If Angus leaves by the Metal
shadow, he could encounter corrine looking quietly over the battle
plain.

Corrine OOCly says, "Hm.  Heads."

Gumi-Roderick says, "OOC Okay, you won.  One Angus scene coming up :)"

Corrine OOCly says, "Woohoo!"

"Heads," the GM lied ^.-

Shizumaru OOCly laughs.

Gumi-Roderick says, "OOC Nyaaah, spoofer :)"

Corrine helps with the investigation for a little while, but as things
prove to be not entirely fruitful, she heads over to the front gate of the
Metal Shadow, standing by its open doors, looking out over the battle
plain where the Assault of the Keep of the Five Worlds once transpired,
scrabbling for memories within her head and not finding them.

Corrine holds the Gideon plushie under one arm, and has tucked Juri's rose
into the breast pocket of her Ember-Slacks getup.

Corrine lets out a quiet sigh, and brushes a tear away from her eye
again.

There are quiet footsteps behind you.

Corrine blinks at the footsteps, and tilts her head to the side,
curiously.  Her chestnut hair moving, shorter than normal so that her face
can be more clearly seen in profile, and in perhaps in the right light,
mistaken for somebody else.  "..mmm?"

A man in a white shirt and black trousers, wrapped bundle on his back, is
approaching from the direction of the Keep.  He has pale white-blue hair
and doesn't look too healthy.

You page, "And, as sometime before this, Juri re-told corrine that
Angus was her father, and had shown her the Avalon trump deck and gone
through a bit of the known geneology, okay to recognize?" to Akemi and
Kima. Kima pages, "Yup, definitely." to you.

Corrine pauses and blinks, and rubs her eyes.  She blinks again,
unsure if this is a hallucination or not, given everything.
".... -angus-??" she says in a croaked whisper.

Corrine coughs, clearing her throat, and raising her voice, turning
more fully to face the man.  "Prince Angus... of Avalon?"

He nods.  "And you must be Corrine, Princess of Amber."

Corrine quirks a slight, sad smile, and bows to Angus.  "Indeed I am. And
Queen of Ember as well."

You page, "Patternsight the man. (okay, so sue me, paranoia) Does he
have the same sort of Pattern Imprint Juri of Avalon had?" to Akemi.
Akemi pages, "Yes" to you.
You page, "Coolness." to Akemi.

Mikage says, "OOC idling for lunch."

Corrine looks at Angus, curiously.  "How did you get here?"

"I had a very long walk."

He looks around, then says, "Apparently, I missed her."

Corrine ahs, and nods.  "... Yes... yes you did." She sighs.
"Somewhere, somebody is laughing, I'm sure.  I'd knee them if I could,
but..."  Corrine then rubs her brow, and looks down at the gideon plushie.
 "Gideon had built a device to transit between here and your universe's
keep, and at the moment of transit, sabatouge struck."

Angus nods.  "By who?"

Corrine says, "Fiona, we think.  Most likely the one associated with
the Black Unicorn Amber forces that fought once on this very plain..." she
gestures at the Metal Shadow, "... defeated by my armies led by Juri, who
slew their Benedict, Bleys, and Corwin.  Fiona and Dierdrie were
unnacounted for in the final tallies."  She looks at Angus again. "I don't
think they're dead... I REFUSE to believe it... but wheever they ended up,
damned if I know."  She sighs again.  "I'm sorry."

Lucien OOC Night!
Gumi-Roderick exclaims, "OOC Night, Jeff!"
Autolyca has disconnected.

He listens and nods.  "I see Juri's been improving.  Hopefully, it
won't go to her head much."

Corrine giggles a little bit.  "Well... her mood's improved.  Greatly. I
think she was looking forward to seeing you again and challenging you. 
And whatever other masters of the sword your family has."

Corrine says, "Though now..." She sighs again, and rubs her brow.

"Oh, she's survived worse," Angus says.  He looks you up and down.
"Hnn."

"Well, that's a relief."  She smiles slightly, and then arches an
eyebrow.  "Yes, the commentary of my similarities to Darako have been made
before.  By Juri, and others.  I like to think I have better fasion sense,
though."

"Cleaner mouth," Angus says.  "Would you have a brother named Tomas?
Or something similar?"

Corrine says, "Touga, actually.  Tall, red-haired, white clothes
trimmed in red." She pops open her trump deck, and shows the card to
Angus.  "And yes, Juri was surprised by the similarity, too.  Son of
Gendo and Sakura, both of whom are dead."

Corrine says, "well, physical at least.  Last I checked, Touga didn't try
releasing people out of the Abyss."

Angus nods.  "Always strikes me strange as to how some mirror and some do
not."  He shrugs.  "Good for him."

Corrine nods, and takes the trump back, putting it away.  "I'm
learning to appreciate the differences and similarities... our
travels... were an eye opener.  For both of us, I think."

Corrine then looks at Angus curiously.  "Why'd you ask about Touga?"

"Our Darako died in part because of his manueverings.  The thought
came to mind."

He continues, "Though ours was not a very close relative of Darako."

Corrine nods.  "So I had heard, from Juri... -- and hmm.  Through the
patternghost of Corwin, the King Without A Name connection.  That -would-
have made him a relative of a sort, after all.  Hnh.  Well, our Touga
spoke in my sister Juri's defense when she was declared a traitor, and
resigned his post in protest of my exile during the same time, so..." She
shrugs.  "Different universes, different histories, different struggles,
but when you get down to brass tacks, same motivations.  Love... hate...
vengeance... justice..."

Corrine hehs a bit, managing a slight smile.  "My apologies, Angus.
I'm rambling."

"Tess rambles," he says, nodding.  "All those get tangled together
when one is as old as I," he says.  "It can be hard to tell the
difference."

Corrine chuckles a bit, and then looks curiously at Angus, and then
shrugs.  "Yeah. That's where the problems creep in when you're not
looking.  Though perhaps, with vigilance, we can keep watch upon
others and ourselves..."  She sighs, and looks up at the sky above the
Keep.  "I suppose I shouldn't keep you here much longer, Angus... just..."
She hesitates, gathering her thoughts.  She then looks at Angus, straight
in the eyes.  "... I doubt that I'll be able to figure out what happened
to Juri anytime soon.  My duties at home and in Amber are likely to
consume my time and energy for a long time to come.  But... it lightens my
heart a bit to know that somebody from her family -is- looking for her,
and has the werewithal and means to track her down, even across the
Universes.  Thank you, Angus of Avalon.  Whenever you catch up with her,
let her know that Corrine misses her sister deeply?"

Angus says, "I will take her your..."  He pauses and looks at you.
"Sister?"

Corrine blushes a bit at that, but nods.  "In spirit, at least, if not in
blood.  With everything and all, it kinda snuck up on us.  Well, Juri and
me, that is.  Your Juri."  She giggles a bit. "'Hi, I'm Corrine, and this
is my sister Juri, and this is my other sister Juri. One has a Spoon.'"
She blinks, and shakes her head.  "A little bit of the sillies, there."

Angus blinks.

Angus . o O (Perhaps everyone in this Amber is like this)

Angus says, "How long have you known her?"

Corrine says, "But then again, she just decided to name her and
Roderick's daughter Horatia Corrine d'Amber, and mine shall be Kanna
Darako Kusanagi, soooo...."  She shrugs.

Corrine thinks.  "Two... now, 'bout six, seven months.  Time gradients got
wonky around here."

Corrine says, "Ember was fasttimed for a few months, and so was the
Keep."

He nods.  "It is...wait, child?"

He gives you one of those penetrating stares.

Corrine says, "She's pregnant, as am I.  Her by her boyfriend,
Roderick of Amber, I by my consort and love, the Red Knight of Ember.
After we defeated Annadil, everybody decided to celebrate life."  She
blushes, but grins, not concerned by his penetrating stares.

Mikage says, "OOC Oh, yeah. :)"

You page, "I think I have managed to break Angus's brain. :)" to Kima.

Shizumaru OOCly merely made smoochykissyface with Rimururu. u.u

Corrine's hand also drifts towards her abdomen, unconciously.

Angus says slowly, as if perhaps he imagined the whole thing, "She has a
boyfriend?"

Corrine nods.  "Yes.  Roderick of the Amber we first ended up
visiting.  If you see a man who looks like Horatio, but is actually,
well, -cool-, hanging around Juri (not that I've ever met Horatio),
don't kill him?  Juri loves him, very much, and he in turn with her,
and I think she'd be ticked off if it happened."

Mikage says, "OOC bye guys."

TimeRunner has disconnected.

little pieces...." to Shizumaru.
In a page-pose to you, Shizumaru giggles madly.

Angus asks, "Can you spare these?"

Corrine chuckles a bit, and then nods.  "Here.  And here's mine of
Gideon... he's had a kid by Amber's court doctor, Wasyuu, but I have
yet to meet Lian." She hands the cards to Angus, including one of
Wasyuu.  "I'm a trump artist, and I've got spares at home.  Made 'm a
while back when they were running around with us in our Universe."

He pockets them.  "Thank you.  This will save time later."

Corrine nods.  "You're welcome.  And I hope so." She quirks a smile.
"we've got to meet up SOMETIME... how else would we exchange baby
pictures?" She then grins more fully, her sadder mood from earlier
starting to lighten.  "May the Unicorn, Alicorn, Narwhal, and Pyricorn
guide your path, Prince Angus of Avalon, and may the sun always light your
way and drive back the darkness.  Until we meet again, fare thee well." 
She gives Angus a full courtly bow.  The effect is somewhat ruined by the
gideon-with-squid-hat plushie under one arm, though.

Angus bows.  "A pleasure to have met you, Princess Corrine of Amber.
Until we meet again."  And then he turns and strides away.

Corrine nods to Angus as he departs, and watches him for a long time
as he walks off towards the horizon.  "And you", she murmurs, as his
image finally fades in the distance.

barrier that has the outsiders in it, so hey."

Gumi-Roderick notes Mikage will be one of Amber's main diplomats in
the Next Gen :)

Gabrielle says, "You know he's spectacularly good at breakdancing,
John. ^_^"

Shizumaru asks, "Really? To where?"

Shaft asks, "ah, so it's announced?"

Corrine exclaims, "besides, Shizu eventually finds the REAL touga, so
that's okay!"

Corrine says, "'Touga In A Bottle'.  The new scent for men, from
l'oreal."

Shaft asks, "how long ya on, phil?  Can we toss someone 6 feet under?"

Corrine says, "Nope, sadly time for me to bail.  NEED TO WORK
