Foxtrot has arrived. >> A portal opens up and out pops a fox-woman. Hiko the Firechilde says, "Gimme time for a bit... need to relax some more." Shaft asks, "wha?" Hiko the Firechilde says, "Where's the fucking booze when you need it." Shizumaru hugs Trish. Corrine plays soft music and lights aromatic candles for Trish. Eudial hugs Trish. "Cheer up. When life hands you lemons, squeeze them until the juice gets down your top!" Hiko the Firechilde says, "Okay, crying bout is over with. I can game again." Shizumaru hugs again. o.o You page, "Erp? *hug*" to Foxtrot. Shaft draws Hiko the Firechilde against himself by the waist. He then wraps his arms about her and squeezes softly. Shaft asks, "oi, phil, toss me the log of magical prince crossdressing Shaft?" Corrine says, "I will, once I get it cleaned up tomorrow, sure." Ramon says, "Okay, let's rumble." Hiko the Firechilde hugs everyone and thanks everyone for being so supportive. Shaft says, "oocly cool, you cleanup :)" Corrine OOCly chuckles. Shaft says, "hey, anytime, trish." Shaft says, "not that I did anything." Shaft exclaims, "i'll shaddap now. GAME ON!" Hiko the Firechilde says, "This depression thing at least once a week thing is starting to piss me off." Hiko the Firechilde shakes it off. Hiko the Firechilde says, "Game on." *** Foxtrot goes IC. *** Rod has disconnected. >> gute Nacht You page, "Oh, if corrine gets involved in this -- okay for her to have contacted Fingolfin to get full status update report for the next morning on what had happened in her absence, and then trumped Misaki to get her back if possible, before her crashing for the night? *wl* That leaves her nice and in bed come the morning, and enough exausted to have missed out on Hiko's return." to Akemi. Akemi pages, "Sounds good to me." to you. You page, "Yay! Misaki gets to camp out on Corrine's couch on her room... hm. If it's lunchtime, okay for Corrine to come to the door, if she heard from Juri-Av about things?" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "Sounds good to me." to you. You page, "heck, she can even bring lunch. *wg*" to Akemi. You page, "I'll do that, then. *wl*" to Akemi. ================================= ================================= You wake up in your room after a lot of sleep. Hiko the Firechilde OOCLY says, "How healed am I?" It's around lunchtime. You still hurt like hell. Hiko the Firechilde OOCLY says, "In other words, how long before my eye is functional again?" Wombat Man says, "OOC With the healing magic, you will be fairly exhausted all the time for about a week, and then you'll have an eye again." Hiko the Firechilde OOCLY says, "What if I let it happen naturally?" At your endurance, years. It took Corwin four years to regrow his eyes, and he is ENDURANCE GOD. :) Hiko the Firechilde OOCLY says, "I'll let it heal in its own time, or do the magic on the way back to the Keep, if we go back." Dara . o O ( Get an artificial eye. Looks cool. ;) ) Hiko the Firechilde OOCLY says, "Gotta be at full strength/energy." There comes a soft rapping, a quiet tapping, upon Hiko's Chamber Door. There is a knock on your suite's outside door. Hiko the Firechilde gets up, and winds a strip of fabric ripped from one of bandages around her head, over her eye. She answers the door. Corrine is standing behind the open door, smiling slightly, clad in somewhat rumpled warden's wear, with a rolling tray of food and beverage next to her. "Hey there, Hiko. Care for a late breakfast?" Hiko the Firechilde smiles and hugs Corrine. "I'm starved, and I'm glad to see you whole and hearty." Hiko the Firechilde laughs deprecatingly. "Can't say the same for myself, though." Corrine looks like she's had a long day already, but is functional and upright, and glad to see Hiko. She smiles more fully, and hugs back. "-Damn-, it's good to see you again, Hiko. And... yeah, I'd heard that you'd dropped in last night... good unicorn what -happened-?" She lets go of the hug reluctantly, and rolls the cart into the room. She murmurs something to the other woman outside the hall, and enters the rest of the way, closing to door. Corrine says, "I mean, hell, we just got back last afternoon ourselves, and that was at the skin of our teeth..." She shakes her head, sighing. You page, "Basically, to misaki, "Make sure we're not bugged, lemme know if somebody wants to join us." *wl*" to Akemi. In a page-pose to you, Akemi nods Hiko the Firechilde says, "I'd heard from Juri... we got there just as you were leaving, and waited until nightfall to scout." Hiko the Firechilde says, "In short? I got my ass kicked by a priestess at the Keep, and I fear that I may have screwed Amber over. We need to make this a fast breakfast." Hiko the Firechilde sets the table quickly, and grabs some rolls, pastries, etc. She eats quickly as she speaks, but not rudely. Corrine winces, and nods. "Right. Fill me in on what happened with you, and I can fill you in on what we ended up learning during our travails." She sits, and does much the same. Hiko the Firechilde says, "King Tylor sent me, Shizumaru, Miki, and Tsuwabuki to the Keep to scout it out, find out what Annadil was doing there, and stop it, if necessary. We got there just fine and scouted just fine." Corrine nods, listening. Hiko the Firechilde says, "There, I found a woman by the name of Rei, who is one of the priestesses who guards the Eternal Flame... Hmm... never did find out exactly what that was." Shaking her head, she continues. "There are tons of lore that refer to the opening of the Gate, that foretell the Children coming to the Keep and facilitating the return of one named Janus, who I can only assume is Annadil, because it calls him the many faced one." Hiko the Firechilde says, "That well makes me nervous... but Shizumaru seemed to be okay in its presence. Odd, that." Hiko the Firechilde goes out to her bedchambers and brings the red-scaled book back. "It's all a bunch of prophecies, like those of the Unicorn, but it was enough to scare me." Corrine hrms, quietly, looking thoughtful. "More and more, I am becomign convinced that Annadil... or Akio, or whoever, is a catspaw. And there's a good reason, I belive. According to Gideon, one of our compatriots... at the bottom of the Fount of Power, there's apparently some connection to the Outsiders." She purses her lips, frowning, and looks over. "What was this 'Rei' like?" Hiko the Firechilde says, "Priestess-ly. Black hair, white and red robes. Very shrine maiden-like, especially when she told me I had to be prepared. You can understand my reluctance to participate in such a thing." Corrine says, "Actually, more than one good reason to be wary of the Font. Anyone who bathes in it gains the powers of... for lack of better words... a "Living Trump", increasing their strength and various other abilities, but at terrible cost, stripping them of their humanity and any form of 'good' emotion." Corrine blinks at that description. Corrine's brow furrows. You page, "And watch as corrine remembers a certain painting..." to Akemi. Akemi pages, "Heh." to you. Hiko the Firechilde says, "She was very strong... did this" she gestures to the bandage "to my eye, and broke my arm." Hiko the Firechilde says, "And I do recall her trying to Trump me somewhere while I was trying to get her to Miki... which is why I fear I've screwed Amber over." Hiko the Firechilde says, "Miki has Derith's blade, the Patternblade. And he's in striking distance from the Keep." Hiko the Firechilde says, "Four blades are needed to open the Gate, two Pattern, two Logrus." Hiko the Firechilde says, "If they reach him...." Corrine nods slowly, lost in thought. "Hrm..." She blinks. "I didn't know that. About Miki having Derith's blade. Accodring to folks last night, they thought Derith had it, and nobody had been able to contact Derith." The stress from the day before finally catches up to Hiko, again, and she starts to cry. Corrine moves over, and goes and hugs Hiko. Hiko the Firechilde says, though her sniffles, "I want my mommy." Corrine murmurs into Hiko's ear, quietly. *q* "we're here now... we'll put it right..." She considers. *q* "Want me to trump her?" Keiko says, "OOC: Hey, you got the closest thing _possible_. :)" Hiko the Firechilde OOCLY says, "It's not the SAME!" Shizumaru OOCly says, "What's '*q*'?" Wombat Man asks, "OOC Does anyone have a log of the session where Tylor briefed you two?" Wombat Man says, "OOc 'cause I can't find my log of it." Hiko the Firechilde OOCLY says, "I do." Corrine OOCly says, "*q* == 'Quietly'" Hiko the Firechilde OOCLY says, "It's retrivable... hang on." Wombat Man says, "OOC Can you send it to me, please? I beg, beg, beg of thee." Hiko the Firechilde OOCLY says, "I will... addy?" Wombat Man says, "OOC ranma@falcon.cc.ukans.edu" Hiko the Firechilde OOCLY says, "Attaching." Hiko the Firechilde OOCLY says, "Sending... sent." Corrine quirks a slight smile. *q* "Or would an Auntie do for now?" Hiko the Firechilde sniffles, "An Auntie would do just fine..." Hiko the Firechilde cries into Corrine's shoulder for a bit, then moves back. "I was afraid I'd mess things up. Don't you hate self-fulfilling prophecies?" Corrine smiles slightly, and lets Hiko pull away as she wants. *q* "In a way, it's good you didn't manage to trump Miki and go through... that close to the Font, the energies would have poisoned you and that priestess... who for some reason... hrm." She purses her lips. Corrine taps a finger against her lips. Hiko the Firechilde asks, "Yes?" Hiko the Firechilde asks, "What were you doing there? Did he crown himself queen? And who the heck is the Ravager Beast that Rei mentioned?" Corrine says, "Would you be ameinable to a quick jaunt to Ember? I have something that I think you might need to see.... and..." She chuckles a bit. "Basically, remember the Logrus Squid?" Corrine says, "Praise the four heraldric beasts, it's now -dead-." She sighs. "Unfortuantely, it did so while trying to get to Drake's fortress shadow." Hiko the Firechilde asks, "Is everything in Ember okay now?" Corrine says, "But in our escape, Gideon, one of our associates, got us to the Font instead. Gideon, as it turns out, has the sobriquet of 'The Ravager Beast' in his home universe... but oddly enough, so did the squid in our own universe, if they are indeed the same squid, which I think it was, given its cross-universe capability." You page, "Corrine read the report from Catherine that morning -- what'd it report? (Deceased/Damage/Military Status, etc)." to Akemi. Akemi pages, "Ember is working on repairing everything, but they're still banged to hell and back." to you. You page, "Right. Okay, something that'll require fasttiming to get them back up to speed with Amber. Which is not impossible, of course, thanks to Corrine's Total Time Gradient Control. *wg*" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "Yep." to you. Hiko the Firechilde rolls her eyes. "I don't even think I want to have this multiple universes thing explained... it hurts my head just thinking of the fact that I've got two mothers, but one of them ISN'T my mother." Hiko the Firechilde OOCly pokes Corrine. "Is everything okay in Ember now?" Corrine smiles slightly. "Suit yourself, Hiko. Just accept they're two seperated, different people, and one of them -is- your mother, and the other isn't, and I think you'll do fine." Her face falls a bit, then. "AS for Ember... I got a report from Catherine this morning. They're going full tilt on effecting repairs, but they're still banged to hell and back. I think I'm going to have to go up there and adjust the time differential to something favorable to get it back up to speed with the situation here and Amber." Corrine OOCly is typing, patience. *wg* Hiko the Firechilde asks, "Well, let me just get debriefed, and if this 'thing' is very important, I'll see if we can spare some time to go to Ember to take a look at is. What is it?" Corrine says, "And I need to walk a Pattern soon, just to make SURE that I'm all right... Findy tried to grab my brain again before we escaped, but I used the Pattern for defense and Juri of Avalon helped me..." She looks at Hiko. "Basically, a series of portraits I discovered in the basement of Castle Ember... one of which, I beleive, would look very much like your 'Priestess Rei'." Hiko the Firechilde OOCly biiiiidahs and flaunts her 60+ wpm abilty. Corrine OOCly is also handling multiple windows, thanks. :) Hiko the Firechilde OOCLY says, "Ditto, man." Hiko the Firechilde says, "If we can spare the time, sure." Hiko the Firechilde finishes eating, and goes to change. She returns in her rumpled uniform top, that still has blood on it, and her pants. She leaves her weapons save her sword in her room, but brings the satchel with the book and the Heart in it. "Let's go." Corrine quirks a slight smile. "I could make a thousand years in Ember pass for a day in Amber, if I needed to. I think we can get the time -- and it'd help for your wounds, if you wanted." She then nods, and gets up. "Right." She polishes off her own food, and goes and collects her bodyguard, Misaki as she gets the door for Hiko. Misaki's eyes widen when she sees how hurt Hiko looks. "What happened, Princess?" You page, "Oh, what was the Ranger report?" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "The Bison have all finally been rooted out and hunted down, for which they're thankful." to you. Hiko the Firechilde says, "Got beaten up in a fight. It should heal in time, but I don't have the energy to spare to perform any healing magic." Hiko the Firechilde says, "I wonder if there are any spare eyepatches around." Corrine says, "Oh yes. Hiko? This is Lady Misaki, my bodyguard. Misaki, this is Princess Hiko, my neice." She quirks a smile. Hiko the Firechilde bows. "A pleasure to meet you." Misaki bows, then asks, "Where to next, my Queen?" Hiko the Firechilde asks, "I need to tell King Tylor what happened. Do you know where he might be?" You page, "Right... wether or not Hiko takes the offer to fasttime in Ember, I think Corrine's still going to do it, and then come back at the end of the Amber day with things accellerated, and then deal with things in Arden, prepping it in case of assualt." to Akemi. You page, "Oh, any word on Tylor's state from the prior night?" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "He's still knocked out, far as you know." to you. Akemi pages, "Possibly still being treated by Nanami and Fuyutsuki" to you. Corrine purses her lips, and looks to Hiko. "He's... still unconcious, Hiko. When we got back and told him Annadil took over the Font, he tried to trump you... and got mentally assaulted." Hiko the Firechilde exclaims, "Oh dear...!" Hiko the Firechilde says, "That's right... Juri (a pause) said something to that effect." Hiko the Firechilde asks, "Who's next in line to be in charge?" Corrine says, "Last I knew, Nanami and Grandfather were still treating him, mentally... we suspect he's got total control of trump now in the vicinity of the Keep, and possibly Outsider support." She sighs. "I'd believe Queen Yuriko, then." She smiles a bit. Corrine says, "'He' being Annadil, that is." Hiko the Firechilde asks, "Outsider?" Hiko the Firechilde asks, "Do you know where she is?" Corrine starts leading the way to the royal suites, where Yuriko presumably would be. "According to Dworkin... an analouge of grandfather from another universe... our own universe is too close to the realm of the Outsiders, whom predate Pattern, Logrus, and perhaps even the Sidar. And to the best of my supposition, they want -out-." Corrine hrms, and snags a passing servant, querying him or her on where Queen Yuriko would be. Hiko the Firechilde says, "That must be the Great Ones that are mentioned in the Red Book who are behind the Gate... in my research on the Gate, it also talks about a PrePattern Civilization." Corrine nods. "Sounds about right, and matches what we were hypothesizing about the nature of the Gate." She shudders. "WHY somebody would leave something like that around for any mystical madman to try and open is beyond me..." Hiko the Firechilde asks, "I'm sure those scholars will be pleased to know they're right." She looks at Corrine. "How much do you trust this 'Dworkin' and his information?" Shaft says, "OOCly hi." Hiko the Firechilde says, "Why Annadil knows about it and how he found out is what I want to discern." Wombat Man asks, "OOC Are you just standing around in the hallway, or are you on your way somewhere?" Hiko the Firechilde OOCLY says, "Walking through the hallways to the Royal Suites, I believe." Hiko the Firechilde OOCLY says, "And waiting for the servant to tell us where Queen Yuriko is." Corrine OOCly says, "*nod* Dragging the servant along if need be. :)" Corrine says, "Well... he provided the device that allowed us to destroy the Squid, and is of similar status as Grandfather... in other words, he was the father of their universe's king of Amber before he died. If you trust Grandfather..." Hiko the Firechilde says, "Even when he brought me here, I didn't. And he KNOWS something about the Gate... I have a feeling he does." Hiko the Firechilde says, "My research indicates that he does, and won't say anything about it." Hiko the Firechilde OOCLY says, "So where is she??? John!" Corrine purses her lips, quietly. "I suspect you're right. Perhaps he was witholding the information to hopefully spare us from whatever was beyond it... after all, he never -did- speak what the Runes of the Sidar were, but they were on the Spoon... a form of solid 'power word', and in a book Juri glanced at down in Chaos. A book about patternblades. Odd." Corrine scratches her head, and sighs a bit. The servants don't know where the Queen is, but they guess you could start at her office. Hiko the Firechilde says, "Oh, and wherever Ota-san is, if he has his Icon, which I believe he does, he needs to be wary as well, as it, too, is a Pattern blade." Hiko the Firechilde flips pages frantically in the book. Shaft OOCly boy, wish I knew that earlier...... Corrine leads the group for Yuriko's office, then! "We heard that last night... surpised me, but apparently the blades tend to come in threes..." Corrine sighs. "And the last I knew, Annadil's got Werewindle." Hiko the Firechilde reads from the book: "Four keys there are, each found a different way. One comes by his command. One comes by his victory. Another comes through trickery and the last is a fair trade. Soon, soon comes the day." Hiko the Firechilde curses. Corrine purses her lips. She mutters, under her breath, "I -hate- prophesy." Hiko the Firechilde asks, "Werewindle... wasn't that the sword that he tried to get at that ambassador's party?" Gabrielle OOCly hands Corrine the Head of Branch. Branch says "Ya'll are so fucked!" Corrine OOCly drop-kicks Branch's head into the next country. Hiko the Firechilde OOCly sets it on fire from afar. Corrine says, "Drake's sword, yes. That one, Embra-Derith tried to grab, but it was a flawed shadow copy. According to things when we got back, one of Annadil's agents took advantage of the Squid's appearance and destruction to grab the real article." You reach the Queen's office door. Two guards stand at attention. Hiko the Firechilde asks, "Good afternoon. Is Queen Yuriko available?" Corrine looks at the guards. "Princess Corrine, Princess Hiko, and Lady Misaki to see Queen Yuriko, if she is available." Hiko the Firechilde mutters, "...by trickery or victory...?" One of the guards says, "Hold on, let's check." He raps on the door. Corrine cools her heels by the door. Vash sticks his head out in the hallway, with a donut in his mouth. He tries to say something, but instead, manages to spit the donut into Misaki's face. "Ack, sorry about that!" he says, and tries to wipe her face with his handkerchief, but only succeeds in spreading powdered sugar all over her. Hiko the Firechilde says, "Oh... here's another interesting tidbit... one of the things Rei said is that this Janus fathered the Children." Finally, he gives up and looks dejected. "Sorry about that." Misaki stares at him in utter shock. Hiko the Firechilde blinks at Vash. (Is he everywhere?) Corrine sighs, and looks wryly at Vash. "Hi again, Vash. Misaki, please don't thrash him, I want to avoid incidents this early in the morning." Corrine says, "Noon. Afternoon. Whatever." Vash says, "Hi, Corrine. You here to see the Queen?" Corrine asks, "The three of us, yes. Is she in?" Hiko the Firechilde OOCLY says, "Pause for headache medicine... will let you know once it kicks in." Corrine OOCly nods. Hiko the Firechilde OOCLY says, "As it's the 'knock you out so you can sleep' stuff." Corrine OOCly says, "Oook." Rod frowns. "Headache? sick or something else?" Hiko the Firechilde OOCLY says, "One of my raging headaches... I'm starting to fear that maybe I DO get mild migraines." He nods. "Yes. Come on in." He offers Misaki another handkerchief, but she slaps it away. Chagrined, he heads into the office. Yuriko is seated at her desk, frantically going over a pile of papers. She looks up at you. "So that's what Nanami meant," she says, then says, "Come in, come in." Corrine says, "Hey, again, Yuriko." She smiles slightly. "Apologies for barging in like this..." Hiko the Firechilde sits down. "She gave you the rundown?" Corrine sits next to Hiko, looking about. Been a long time since she's been here last, so she's got a little bit of reminisce to do. She also smiles apologetically to Misaki. Yuriko says, "She woke me up in the middle of the night, babbled at me that you'd come back badly injured and alone and that she'd had your not-mother take care of you." Yuriko says, "Then she started ranting about being ripped off by some cloth merchant, and then there were these bears and..." Corrine sighs, and eyerolls slightly. Keiko says, "OOC: Awkward Situation #3 : Having to comfort the daughter of your absent analogue from another universe." Hiko the Firechilde says, "Well, that's the short verison." She smiles at the next part, then sighs. "Long version is that in my reconnaissance, I was able to confirm that yes, Annadil's forces were at the Keep." Yuriko nods. "Go on." Hiko the Firechilde wryly smiles. "Had I known that Corrine had already done so, this major screwup might not have happened." Hiko the Firechilde says, "There are prophecies in this book" she waves it around "that tell more of what is supposed to happen, and how it happens, but not how to stop it, or close it up again. At least, I didn't get to that part yet." Corrine listens for the moment, and then hehs a little bit. "Perhaps, perhaps not. By the time we got back here..." She shrugs. "We barely managed to escape as it was, since Trump was unsafe there. Had to flambe' his dinner to get out of there. But that's neither here nor there." Corrine mutters, "next time, it's his clothes I torch, see if I don't," under her breath. Hiko the Firechilde says, "A priestess there, who cared for the Eternal Flame in the Fire Shadow section, attempted to 'prepare' me for the Return. I didn't take too kindly to that, and had her take me through one of the doors into the other shadows that fuel the Flame." Yuriko nods. Hiko the Firechilde says, "From there, I attempted to Trump Miki, to bring her back as a prisoner. At the same time as I was about to pull the both of us through, I felt a Trump contact, and a VERY BAD feeling." Vash sits in a plush chair, paging through some book as he listens. Corrine glances at the book Vash is reading... well, the cover at least. Hiko the Firechilde says, "We grappled, she made me shoot myself in the foot and shrugged off all of my magical attacks, broke my arm, and poked out my eye. I tried to teleport the both of us back here, but she managed to escape the teleportation." 'The Big Book of Barely-Clad Elven Women' Yuriko's eyes widen as she listens to this. Corrine resists the urge to facepalm. It takes some doing, but dangit, she's a Queen now. Hiko the Firechilde looks at Vash, with a bit of distaste, and a healthy dose of suspicion. Corrine then returns her attention to Hiko and Yuriko's tale. Yuriko asks, "Have they given you proper medical attention? You did see Wasyuu, right?" Vash is blissfully oblivious to surprise and disapproval alike. Hiko the Firechilde says, "Nope... got field dressed last night, and I don't have the energy to sustain a healing spell right now." Corrine hrms, thoughtful. "Always Dr. Tofu for a second opinion..." She then shakes her head. "Sorry, throwing out ideas here." Hiko the Firechilde says, "I've been walking wounded before..." Hiko the Firechilde shrugs. "You get used to it." Yuriko frowns deeply. "We haven't heard back from any of the others yet." Corrine hehs a bit. "So have I. But stressing things -too- far leaves you vulnerable when you least want it -- oh hell." Corrine winces a bit, and pinches the bridge of her nose. Yuriko says, "However, after what happened to my husband, I am too afraid of the consequences to try trumping any of the survivors." Hiko the Firechilde says, "I'd concur. If Pattern effects are allowed, we'd be able to get back there via a PatternGate from Derith, I believe. He offered once." Vash turns a page and his eyes widen for a moment. Yuriko says, "Derith is not answering trumps." Yuriko says, "Moire says she doesn't know where he is." You page, "Also taking care of why Shiz and Tusibaki didn't get trumps or other things when they escaped... *wg*" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "Heh." to you. Hiko the Firechilde gives a sour look. "Last I heard, he was hunting raiders in Nedra. He's rather moody, isn't he?" Hiko the Firechilde says, "That was about two weeks ago, by the by." Yuriko says, "Derith is a proud and noble man, but he has much to be proud of." Hiko the Firechilde asks, "Why does he dislike King Tylor so much?" Corrine purses her lips. "That's... I know he tends to be reticent on principle, but..." She sighs. "I can understand and not comprehend his point of view on not staying in Amber at the same time, nowadays." Yuriko says, "Derith and Tylor are nearly completely opposite." Yuriko says, "My husband is very...relaxed. Derith is intense." Yuriko says, "My husband only studied at swordpoint, Derith spent centuries mastering his studies" Hiko the Firechilde says, "That's no reason to hate someone so much. My foster parents were almost complete oppositees." Yuriko says, "Opposites can attract, but they can also clash horribly." Yuriko says, "I have found myself between them many a time." Corrine nods quietly, keeping her own counsel for the nonce. Hiko the Firechilde sighs. "So, as it stands, Annadil has one Patternblade and two Logrusfoils, right?" Hiko the Firechilde OOCLY says, "Oi... getyour mind out of the gutter, Trish..." Corrine sighs, and nods. "Yup." Hiko the Firechilde wonders if his name is really even Annadil. Yuriko sighs. "Tylor is always kind to Derith, but Derith tends to take it as condescension, unfortunately. But then, Tylor is kind to everyone, even those who hate him." Yuriko says, "If he has captured Miki, then he will have two Patternblades." Hiko the Firechilde nods as well. "And then we're screwed." Corrine nods a bit, smiling. "This is true, Yurkio." She then sighs. "That's possible, too." Hiko the Firechilde asks, "Because in all my research, I still don't know how we're suppposed to close the Gate... and I've not heard any news about my other two cousins. Where are Nagisa and Mikage?" Corrine says, "Save how the hell would he -get- to the Gate to use them? He can't just boogie on the Pattern, unless he gets a dupe or something else..." Hiko the Firechilde says, "Is it possible to control the weather around here to make it sunny and cloudless? That may forestall him." You page, "I know Corrine's trumped -out- of the Gate room (no other way to exit), but never painted a trump to try to get IN the room... though if Annadil had Living Trump, he could possible pop there?" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "He would have to have been there before." to you. You page, "Right. Which corrine doens't know (if he's been there or not). With her TTM, -she- could get back up there, but has no reason to. :)" to Akemi. Hiko the Firechilde says, "Until we can marshal defenses to repel him." Corrine says, "Thing is, Tir'na nog only appears on nights of the clear full moon. I think you'd want overcast nights, then." Hiko the Firechilde facepalms. "Right." Yuriko says, "Nagisa and Mikage are out in shadow. " Hiko the Firechilde asks, "Safe, I hope?" Yuriko says, "Nagisa is on a mission for Moire, and Mikage is trying to recover his Icon, the last I heard." Hiko the Firechilde says, "We need all Five Icons to close the Gate." Yuriko says, "As for controlling the weather, that can be done with the Jewel of Judgement." Corrine asks, "And all 5 children as well, I assume?" Yuriko says, "But Tylor, to whom it is attuned, is unconscious." Yuriko says, "Though I hope he will recover soon." Hiko the Firechilde sighs. "And then, we also need to make sure Annadil has not captured Miki, and to recover Shizumaru and Tsuwabuki and everyone else." Hiko the Firechilde asks, "Can someone else attune themselves? Perhaps you, Queen Yuriko?" Yuriko says, "My understanding is that it requires walking the Pattern while carrying it, or else being immense in psychic strength." You page, "This is Corrine. Hiko the Firechilde looks to Corrine. "Would you do it? As you said you wished to walk the Pattern again, anyway." Yuriko says, "I know Lina was strong enough to attune herself to it." Corrine nods. "I had to walk the Pattern myself downstairs to attune myself to the Fire DemiJewel after I inherited it... wasn't an easy thing. But... hrm. That -is- a thought, I suppose." You page, "That'd be +2 to get the "Full DemiJewel attunement" atop her existing Fire Attunement, right? (as I recall from the Throne War and Derith.)" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "Yes, two points." to you. Akemi pages, "I don't quite understand what you mean." to you. You page, "Cool. So still doable even with my current plans." to Akemi. You page, "I just remember Jeff doing the same thing in the Throne war before this. He got the Water DemiJewel first, and then attuned to the True Jewel during the game." to Akemi. Then no-one could get to the Gate ver again." Corrine hehs a little bit. "If needs must be doing it... I've always done my best for the country, no matter what form it would take."
