Mike teleports into the room. Mike has arrived. Michelle has arrived. Chris teleports into the room. Chris has arrived. Corrine of Amber OOCly does some deep knee bends and stretches. The Tennessee Shad says, "When last we left, our heroes were in Gideon's harem being fitted for see-though gowns..." The Tennessee Shad says, "Or his library, waiting for him. One of the two." Juri says, "" Juri says, "Well, Dara was escorting us to the library." The Tennessee Shad says, "Right. Lights, camera, action." Chris drops Mikaze. ==================================== ==================================== Juri follows Dara to the library. After a short time, she hesitantly asks, "How old are you, dear?" Corrine of Amber follows Dara as well, looking around the place curiously, allowing her tourisimness to show, despite the pirate queen disguise. Dara looks over her shoulder, grinning at Juri. "Fifteen, auntie." Juri nods. "And have you lived here all your life? Do you attend school?" Dara blinks and barely avoids walking into a wall. "School? What's that?" Corrine of Amber hehs a bit. "Organized education arranged by others instead of your parents." Juri looks ever-so-slightly shocked. "Then Gideon and Kim have been responsible for your education?" Dara nods, "Daddy has so many books about neat stuff. He made me try the school thing once, but after the third time it blew up, he stopped making me go there." Corrine of Amber chuckles. "Sounds like my daughter." Her expression then saddens a bit, and she sighs. Juri asks, "Have you been to Avalon, dear?" Dara turns around another corner and leads you down a narrow stairway. "Not yet. Daddy says they're not ready yet. Whatever that means." Corrine of Amber nods slowly. "Understandable, if he's decided to stay around here for the nonce." "I see," Juri says, clearly not seeing. "Have you met any of your relatives before me? Corrine of Amber looks rueful at Juri. "I had Ember isolated from Amber for ten years, just so I could get up to speed with what I now was, so it's not a biggie." She shrugs. Dara hms, "Not really. You're the first, auntie." She stops in front of a heavy stone door. A push, and it swings open. "Here's the library." Corrine of Amber looks into the library, curious. Juri smiles faintly. "I'm flattered." Juri looks around the library. "Impressive." It is, indeed, a fairly nifty library. Corrine of Amber looks around the library, and if there's any windows in this library, and what sorta books it's got. It's a typical library ... only fairly large. Books, scrolls, more books and scrolls, reading tables ... if the books are sorted in any way, the system is not readily apparent. Windows there are none, but paintings cover the walls that are not hidden behind shelves. Corrine of Amber ooos at the paintings, and looks at -those-, then! Juri looks to Dara. "Your father mentioned he had some books that we might find useful?" Fairly nice paintings, of a beach, a clearing in an old forest somewhere, a lone tower in a scorched wasteland ... Corrine of Amber nods at the landscape, her eyes and senses idly probing for Trump Energies in the paintings. "Who made these paintings, Dara? Your father?" Dara shrugs again, hands in her pockets. "No idea, auntie." She nods to Corrine. "He does that sometimes, when he's in the mood." Corrine of Amber chuckles a bit, and nods. "Perfectly understandable." She smiles. "He's quite skilled." Juri idly goes looking for 'Battling Logrus Squids For Dummies'. Corrine of Amber says, "I think Gideon was implying he'd give more information whenever he made his decision, Juri." Dara waves and heads out again. "Have fun looking around." Corrine of Amber waves back. "Thank you, Dara! We will!" She smiles. Juri says, "Take care, niece." Corrine of Amber watches Dara head out. "Nice kid." She smiles a bit, and starts idly looking at the shelves, seeing if anything sticks out to her own interests (ie, Trump, Demi-Jewels, Pattern, How To Defeat Insane Sons Of Logrus Keepers, The Outsiders, etc...) There's several tomes on Trump, at least from a quick review. Juri just browses around the shelves to occupy her time. Corrine of Amber hrms, and idly pulls one of the books out, and thumbs through it, leaving a sheet of paper to mark her place. "So, Gideon's a Trump Artist, you were saying?" Mike pages, "If Gideon actually reads these things and can comprehend them, as opposed to just collecting them, he's clearly a very advanced Trump artist. The theory in some of these is advanced to the point of near-abstraction." to you. Juri says, "Yes. Probably the expert in my family." Corrine of Amber whistles softly. ".... damn... I can see why. I can't get half of this, and I like to consider myself pretty up on what Trumps can and Can't do, even if I can't do it myself. I wonder if he gives lessons?" Corrine of Amber looks wry. Juri smiles faintly. "I understand that's how he met his wife." Corrine of Amber says, "Oh. Darn." She winks. "Ahwell, such is life." She continues reading, making thoughtful sounds at the things she reads and can actually tangentally grok. Mike pages, "Several weeks of study here would probably do wonders towards your skills as a Trump Artist. Pity you probably don't have the time to spend." to you. Juri browses the titles, impressed. Corrine of Amber sighs a bit, and replaces the book on the shelf where she marked the page. "Pity we can't stay here longer... if I spent a month or two here, I could REALLY improve my Trump Skills." Corrine of Amber looks rueful, and browses a bit on other topics. "But, I -suppose- we have to focus on the immediate concerns, while also worry about my long-term stuff at home... Hoorah, huzzah..." Juri shrugs and smiles. "With the apparent time differential between our universes being what it is..." Juri hrms. "You know, as long as we're waiting... how quick could you sketch a Trump of Roderick, so we can tell him where we went?" You page, "Should take corrine about 15-20 minutes to do a TrumpSketch of Roderick, right?" to Akemi. You page, "A9dmittedly, with True Trump Memory she can do instantaneous, but hey...." to Akemi. Gideon walks in, dressed in his old 'working outfit' of black and red leather, holding a satchel. "Ladies ... the hunt can begin, as far as I am concerned." Juri nods. "You said you had materials...?" Akemi pages, "You can do them pretty quickly." to you. The Tennessee Shad asks, "OOC: Were you going to be needing Merc's services tonight?" Corrine of Amber hehs a bit, and sits down at a table, and then blinks, looking up. "Va--- no," She shakes her head. "Hello again, Gideon." She smiles. "Actually, I'd like to be able to -confirm- the time differential before committing, but there is that... and yes, I can do a Trump Sketch of Roderick pretty quickly." Corrine of Amber says, "For that matter, we ought to trade trumps, Just to be on the safe side." Juri says, "OOC: Not sure. I expect by the time we come up with a plan, I'll want to go to bed." Corrine of Amber produces two of her spare Corrine Trumps (Pre-Ember-Tan), and hands them to Juri and Gideon. Juri nods, slides out the Trump of herself, and gives it to Corrine. Corrine of Amber takes the trump, looks at it, and smiles. You page, "What does Juri's trump look like, IC?" to Kima. Kima pages, "This one is my favourite of the ones I've made: http://www.thekeep.org/~harnums/Avalon/juritrump2.jpg" to you. You page, "Spiiify." to Kima. Gideon nods and takes Corrine's trump, handing one of his over to her. Gideon glances at Juri, "You still have one of me?" Juri smiles. "Yes, dear brother. If you recall, it was how I contacted you earlier." Corrine of Amber accepts the Gideon Trump, and pockets that as well. Gideon shrugs, "You could have borrowed one of Trucido, for example." Juri waves her hand absently. "I have a Trump, yes. Let's discuss just how we're going to deal with this Logrus Squid." Corrine of Amber glances up at the folks. "So, you want me to make a Trump of Roderick so we can get back while you two chat for a bit?" Corrine of Amber says, "Well, sketch, actually, but hey." Juri says, "You should be in on this too, Corrine. I'm more interested in informing him of where we went." Corrine of Amber hms and nods. "Point." Gideon nods to a table, "And I'm interested in hearing about it." Corrine of Amber turns the chair around, and then drags it over to the indicated table. Juri sits. "You've already heard the short version, Gideon. The long one is very long indeed. The pressing matter at hand is the Logrus Squid, which even now may be on the move." Gideon perches on a chair and nods. "How much do you know about the workings of the squid?" Corrine of Amber says, "Ishmael and Rose suggested that there may be a way to control the squid by psycichally dominating it... but given everything we've been through so far, I think by this point, it's moot. It'd better off reduced to its component elements, it's caused WAY too much damage.]" Juri says, "Little, I'm afraid, although Roderick might know more. It was formed out of an entire Shadow by King Oberon of Squid-Amber, and imbued with the desire to eat Fire Patterns." Corrine of Amber says, "Various legends of its creation, stories told by the folks from Squid Amber on how they got it under their control, and personal experience on fighting that thing." Juri says, "It's about a mile long on the outside, and slightly larger than New England on the inside." Gideon raises an eyebrow. "Fire Patterns. Are there enough of those to feed the thing?" Corrine of Amber nods, and mutters something about by the four heraldric beasts, there'd better not be TWO of them. Corrine of Amber says, "Queen Anthy said that after it tries to eat one, and wether or not it succeeds or fails, it then retreats to rest due to the damage caused." Juri says, "It has Logrus tendrils for tentacles, and seems to be able to Trump-teleport in a similar manner to Brand." Corrine of Amber says, "Ember, my Kingdom, originally fell due to damage caused by the Ravager Beast when its tentacle hit the Final Veil. I repaired it with the Fire Demi-Jewel." Gideon winces. "Please, Corrine ... do not use the term Ravager Beast when I'm around." Juri says, "There seems to be one Fire Pattern in every universe. Jigoku, the Ashen Prince's citadel, contains the Fire Pattern of our universe." Corrine of Amber says, "It also tends to be Logrus-charged, and Trump-Charged... using pattern and trump abilities during combat appeared risky, and we were specifically advised NOT to let pattern-blades peirce it..." She then blinks, and winces, and bows towards Gideon. "My apologies, Gideon, I spoke without thinking." Juri looks sympathetically at Gideon. "Do they still have those bounties on you?" Corrine of Amber says, "There's also broken Fire Patterns, of course, but I don't know if you could 'distract' the Logrus Squid to eat -those- instead...." Gideon just points behind him to the Wanted poster at the door. Corrine of Amber glances at the Wanted poster. Corrine of Amber says, ".... that answers that...." Juri looks at it. "Nice picture. Shows off your teeth." Gideon hms, "Both Logrus-charged and Trump-charged ... and I doubt I can trump-block something of that size." Juri starts. "Oh. Dear." Gideon smirks. "Thank you, sister." Corrine of Amber blinks, and considers. Corrine of Amber says, "You know, Juri...." Juri says, "Broken Fire Patterns..." Juri asks, "I wonder... did Horatio build Julian on one of those?" Corrine of Amber says, "That's probably why I couldn't contact my people in Ember when we returned. Gabrielle likely was trying to block the Squid from arriving." Juri says, "What we really need is some way to destroy the squid without causing too much collateral damage. The best tactic might be to seize control, and then see if a way can be found to dispose of it in a peaceful manner." Gideon says, "Lure it into a shadow, seal it, then dispose of it ... any damage would likely be confined to that shadow then." Juri nods. "If we could get it into a shadow where Trump and Logrus won't work, but Pattern will... then we could escape, but the squid couldn't." Corrine of Amber nods. "Which is what we've been trying before, but without MUCH success... draws at the best. At least the MacFinndos are no longer on their home turf, so their pattern imprints won't work.. but that still leaves Demon Armor and Nameless..." She hms. "How would the 'disposal team' get out, then?" She looks rueful. "... Hm, true." Juri says, "Well, we need to come up with... a cunning plan." Juri says, "Consider the weaknesses of our foes and exploit them." Gideon says, "I'll leave the MacFinndos to you ... you're the warrior princess, Juri. I'm just a scientist." Juri says, "The MacFinndos have all been addicted to coffee. I'm not really sure _why_, but..." Corrine of Amber asks, "Sheer perversity on the part of Nanami?" Gideon hms and glances at Corrine, "You said the Squid is charged with both Logrus and Trump energies?" Juri says, "I'm not sure whether or not she was the one responsible. Squid-Suhuy said she lost control of them." You page, "There was both Logrus and Trump energy in the Squid when she was on-board, correct? Though I think it went down eventually, so that Corrine was finally able to SAFELY trump out...." to Akemi. Juri says, "I think Nanami herself might have been being used by some higher power... perhaps these 'Outsiders'. The ones who want their lawnmower back." Corrine of Amber frowns at the mention of the Outsiders. "Manipulating others by offering Power Tools..." She looks thoughtful at that statement, and taps her fingers against her chin. "As for the Squid...." Akemi pages, "Yes, it had both." to you. Juri says, "It had to travel by the Logrus to reach Squid-Amber's Fount, I believe, which implies that its Trump abilities may not be permanent." Corrine of Amber says, "Yes, it had both. And at one point, I dared not even -try- trumping within it, for fear of blowing my mind apart... but later, to escape, I was able to do it." Corrine of Amber says, "And I think, at one point, Ishamel was mentioning some trump-machinery he'd installed to help it figure out where to move in-Shadow." Gideon says, "If it has undergone part of the living trump process ... hm. Maybe there is a way to do some damage that way ..." Juri nods. "I managed to disrupt Brand's trump-teleporting at a critical moment during the final battle. Barely. If we could figure out how to do something like that on a larger scale... perhaps how to even turn the power against it." Gideon smiles, "That's what I'm planning to do, dear sister." Juri says, "You've had control of the Fount for forty years now, Gideon; I assume you've made extensive study." Juri says, "As I expected, brother dear." Corrine of Amber says, "Cooool." She smiles. Juri asks, "First of all, we should decide what our objective is going to be. Will we try to seize control of the squid again, or simply to destroy it?" Gideon says, "And yes, I've studied the Fount whenever I could." Juri says, "The objective may change midway through as opportunity presents itself, of course, but we should have a clear idea in mind from the beginning of what our goal is to be." Corrine of Amber says, "The Fount's effectively a natural source of Trump Energy, right? Or am I off-base, here?" Gideon says, "It's not as simple as that, but close enough." Corrine of Amber nods. "Right. The reason why I was asking was that I'd figured a way, I think to boost trumps-cross universe, and thereby eliminating any possible need to keep that Squid around. Ishamel's just going to have to deal." Gideon asks, "What would that way be?" Corrine of Amber says, "I have a feeling eliminate MacFinndos first, then take over squid and dispose of it 'safely', as far as that goes, is the best for dealing with that..." She then hehs, and pulls out her sketchpad. "Basically, while we were examining the site of the detonation of Squid-Amber's Fount, I started thinking on a way to boost trumps to get us home. If one was to, say, set up an equivelent of a 'Geothermal tap' into the source of Trump Energy, and then use the machinery to process it, you could use that machinery to boost the trump itself. With a computer-analouge to store the images, etcetera, so you don't actually -expose- yourself to it and go all Brand on somebody." Corrine of Amber shows her note-sketches to Gideon. "Admittely, that'd only really workj for People trumps. Place trumps, I think you'd have to be in the physical analouge of a place for it to work well." Gideon nods, "I've done some experimenting with filtering the Fount energies myself. Your idea sounds workable ... might need some more work on the details, though." Juri listens to the conversation with the expression of one utterly clueless in the area discussed. Corrine of Amber hehs a bit, and nods. "Well, if I was going to go through with it, I'd definitely need to hammer out the details. Back home, I'd consult my brother Miki, who's a better Trump Artist than I, or Drake, who's experienced with technology or machinery.... but that's neither here nor there, it just presents an avenue of returning home that doesn't involve Logrus Using Squids or the Cave Of Worlds." She smiles, and hehs a bit. "And we're losing Juri. Sorry 'bout that tangent...." Gideon says, "We'll talk about that some other time. I might be able to help you there." Juri asks, "Not a problem. Gideon, I assume you still possess the Eye of Water?" Corrine of Amber nods towards Gideon. "Thank you, Gideon." Gideon nods, "Of course, Juri." Juri asks, "Good. Have you any idea what effects its properties have upon Logrus-charged things? Are they quite so... explosive as a Patternblade?" Gideon says, "Sorry, can't help you there ... I think asking Logrus masters to cooperate in finding such out would have been futile." Juri raises an eyebrow. "The Lady Kozuen wouldn't oblige?" Gideon says, "No. Besides, I tend to keep the Eye dormant when I'm in Chaos. You know how the Logrus dislikes me using it." Corrine of Amber quirks a matching eyebrow at the mention of "Kozuen". Juri hrms. "I was thinking we could flood the squid's bridge with Order-charged coffee. It's mostly water, after all, and it would distract the MacFinndos. And the Order-charge might short-circuit the squid without making it go up like a firework." Gideon hms ... "Coffee is a lot easier to make than diamond." Corrine of Amber blinks, and then starts giggiling. "... Order-Charged... Coffee... oh Pyricorn, that's just -perfect-! Poetic Justice, here we come...." Corrine of Amber grins. Anybody who had any lingering doubt that Corrine was Darako would have been killed at that point, 'cause Darako NEVER giggled like that. (or at all.) Juri says, with utmost seriousness, "I was thinking we could find a lake of the best coffee in the universe, charge it with Order via the Eye of Water, and then send it through a Trump gate into the squid." Corrine of Amber finally stops giggling. "And then we trump in somewhere else, and start working to clean up the mess and aybody still standing and non-drowned?" A pot of steaming coffee appears, smelling like the mother of all Blue Mountain roasts. Corrine of Amber whimpers. She looks at Gideon. "You're -gooood-." Juri nods. "Or, possibly, simply come through with the coffee, with the appropriate protections. I assume the Eye can do such things. As can the proper spells, provided no one is about to dispel them suddenly." Gideon smiles, "Juri dear ... would you please test the amount of Order in the coffee?" Juri quirks an eyebrow. "You expect me to drink it straight from the pot, do you?" Gideon rolls his eyes and produces a pair of matching cups, placing them on the table. "If you want to drink it, be my guest." Juri pours herself a cup and has a tiny sip. Juri says, "It's Order-licious." Gideon nods, "Good. Let's hope the squid doesn't like coffee." Juri smacks her lips. "Well, the MacFinndos certainly do. Perhaps Demon-Armour and No-Name have succumbed to the peer pressure by now." Corrine of Amber nods. "You should have seen their setup in Squid-Amber. Coffee Refineries as far as the eye could see." Gideon chuckles. "Oh, right ... that reminds me." He pulls two rings from a pocket and puts them on the table. "These might help with your disguises, such as they are right now." Corrine of Amber hmmms, and takes one of the rings, peering at it. Not that she can TELL anything about it, but..... Juri picks the ring up and examines it. "What's it do?" Gideon says, "These are my old shifting rings." Corrine of Amber says, "I get the feeling our little illusions are pretty obvious to anybody with any decent degree of magical sight?" She looks wry. Gideon nods, "Let me put it this way ... wearing glasses and a fake moustache would be more convincing." Corrine of Amber says, "oh dear." Juri puts the ring on. "And these are not?" Corrine of Amber slides on her own ring, next to the shadow-shifting one. Gideon smiles, "I did a good job of fooling you back then for a while, did I not?" Corrine of Amber quirks a curious eyebrow. Juri says, "Of course, 'Brandon'." Corrine of Amber OOCly pauses. Corrine of Amber OOCly says, "GReat, now I'll need to do an AIB pic with Corrine, Juri, Trucido, Roderick, and Gideon now, you know. ALL In suits and sunglasses." Gideon OOCly snickers. Juri says, "OOC: Well, we'll need to find Trucido first. :)" Juri asks, "OOC: Have you seen that, BTW, Brem?" Gideon asks, "OOC: Seen what?" Corrine of Amber OOCly says, "http://www.dkcomm.net/rhea/AmberRPG/Utena/Ember/corrine_juri_aib_cc.jpg" Corrine of Amber OOCly grins. Corrine of Amber asks, "This is one of those 'Long Story' moments, isn't it, Juri?" Corrine of Amber grins. Juri says, "Yes, one of the long stories that I'll tell you one day when reality isn't threatened." Corrine of Amber yays. Juri asks, "So... Order-charged coffee. Gideon, you said you were going to do something with the Trump charge on the squid... details?" Gideon says, "No details yet ... I need some detail info on squiddy first ... but if I can, I'll try to invert the power flow. Instand trump black hole." Corrine of Amber says, "Yeeek." Juri whistles. "Which will do... what, exactly? Tear it apart through implosion?" You page, "What were the things Corrine could grok about the Trump-Workings of the squid while she was on it and while she heard/talked with Rose and Ishmael about it?" to Akemi. Gideon says, "Only suck all trump energy out of it, I'm afraid. Of course, if you know something that Squiddy doesn't like and that we might be able to gate in, one might try to use the energy for that." Juri hmms. "Just... how big a Trump gate would it create? For how long?" Akemi pages, "It seemed to be infused with Trump energy, but you had impression that was due to massive fount bath, not a normal state." to you. Corrine of Amber hms. Gideon asks, "How big do you want it, and for how long?" Juri smiles faintly. "If we had enough, could we fill a squid the size of New England with Order-charged coffee?" Corrine of Amber says, "As far as the Trump Energy goes, from what I could tell, the Infusion of Trump Energy was purely due to a fount bath.... not that it was its natural state... but be -damned- if I know how it could hold so MUCH energy and be logrus-charged without blowing up in the process." Corrine of Amber says, "So it could be conceivably be in the process of 'running out' of the Trump Energy inside it... which could be accelleated by your ideas, Gideon, Juri..." Gideon smiles, "Indeed." Juri asks, "What do you need to know about the squid? Is it anything we can tell you, or would you have to observe it?" Gideon says, "I'd have to look at it myself, I'm afraid." Corrine of Amber says, "I can give you drawings of it, of places we were inside it.... ah..." She hehs a bvit. Juri says, "If Mr. Demetrius's ship keeps recordings of its monitoring system, you could have a look at those. I'm not sure how sophisticated his instruments are, but..." Gideon hms and looks at Corrine. "Can you give me one of those drawings, please? Of the squid itself, not internals." Corrine of Amber nods, and gives Gideon the earlier sketches of Fido in action. Corrine of Amber says, "Admittedly, we weren't -around- much in the Squid, or did much exploring, but I could get us back to those places if need be." Juri hrms. "I wonder if they're still controlling things from the secondary bridge." Juri says, "Because, if so, it might be difficult to Trump there, since we haven't been there." Gideon takes the sketches and looks through them, selecting one. Squinting a bit, he examines it closer. You page, "If the bridge Corrine saw the MacFinndos on was the secondary bridge, then she should be able to trump them there, yes?" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "During the Sub vs. Squid fight you mean?" to you. You page, "Yeah." to Akemi. You page, "(I have no idea myself, since Corrine hasn't actually BEEN there, and that was just an image....)" to Akemi. You page, "For that matter, did the image on the sceen match up with the Primary Bridge?" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "You think that might have been the secondary bridge; it looked much lik the primary one though." to you. Corrine of Amber says, "I -think- that was the secondary bridge we saw them on... but it looked a lot like their primary bridge, though." Corrine of Amber says, "After all, we rather damaged their primary bridge... but I suppose Faenor could have repaired it with conjuration." She looks rueful. Juri hrms. "Could you manage a Trump to the secondary bridge just from seeing it on the monitor?" Gideon hms, "Big boy, your squid, and fast for its size ... too much Logrus in it to get a reliable reading on Trump energies from afar ..." You page, "Coooould she?" to Akemi. You page, "Since she -was- having thoughts towards that nature during the battle...." to Akemi. Akemi pages, "You think you cou8ld." to you. Corrine of Amber nods. "I think I could. I'd proably want to do it straight to paper than trying to go it via mind, but yes." Corrine of Amber whistles at Gideon's studies. Corrine of Amber says, "wanna learn how to do that." Corrine of Amber looks sheepish, and grins a bit. Gideon puts the paper away, looking troubled. "It seems to be looking for something ... and it's damn fast. I hope I'm wrong, but I have a feeling they might be doing a tour of Patterns, starting with the water one." Juri nods. "So... we get things ready. A big lake of Order-charged coffee. Protections to let us go in and operate effectively amidst said Order-charged coffee. Then we go find the squid. Gideon does his nifty energy reversal. We use that to power trump gates to flood both the secondary and primary bridges, keeping that up as long as possible--oh dear." Corrine of Amber frowns. "Hell. Trying to find a way to boost their own abilites? Or ones for Fido to eat?" Gideon asks, "Does it matter?" Juri says, "I know they've already been to the Fire Pattern at Jigoku; it's where they picked up Demon-Armour." Corrine of Amber winces. "Point. They're sure to cause massive devistation along the way, regardless." Juri says, "I suspect we don't have the time to wait for Mr. Demetrius's sub to be repaired, then." Corrine of Amber nods. "Retreive Roderick or go to his side, find Trucido, and start moving?" Juri asks, "As soon as we have a definite plan. Once we've flooded the squid, then what? Do we wait and see what happens, or do we rush in and try to dispose of them while they're--hopefully--surprised?" Corrine of Amber says, "It'd depend on how much they'd be hampered, I suppose. Findy's my big worry, as she might be able to counter anything Trump-Based we try. Faenor has his Silmarils, and Arwen's their mage, so they've got mysical backup. They've all got 'Living Trump' ability, but if we flood enough of the place..." *she pauses* "... would it be possible to drain a 'Living Trump' person of their trump energies as well, Gideon?" You page, "Any thoughts on Corrine's end, tactically, given her relatively low Warfare? *wry look*" to Akemi. Gideon seems a bit distracted, but shrugs. "You can block them. Haven't tried to drain one yet, but it might be possible." Akemi pages, "Coming up with some way to blind them might be useful; you can't trump if you can't see." to you. Corrine of Amber hrms. "If we could blind them, somehow, then that could help hamper them... you can't trump if you can't see." Corrine of Amber OOCly says, "(Oh, how folks holding out here, energy-for-RP-wise?)" Juri says, "Well, if they're floating in a floor-to-ceiling sea of dark Order-charged coffee..." Juri says, "I'm out of here in the next ten minutes." Gideon . o O ( Still okay for a while. ) Corrine of Amber OOCly nods. "When's the next you'll be around, Chris?" Juri says, "That is, I would _like_ to be. Once we find a good point to stop, basically, I'm out of here." Gideon . o O ( I'm free until tuesday. ) Corrine of Amber says, "That's true." She hehs a bit. "So we've got a way in, a distraction, and if we can move around the coffee more ably than them..." Juri says, "And see through it. That's important." Corrine of Amber says, "Exactly." Corrine of Amber says, "Wish there was a way to deal with Findy's Massive Brain, though..." She frowns. "I don't relish going a second round with her again." Gideon says, "Easiest way to deal with one is a bullet into it." Juri hrms. "We could find... a shadow with huge lakes of excellent coffee. Inhabited by a race of people who have developed technology specifically designed from plumbing the depths of the lakes. Goggles that can see through the coffee, and such." Corrine of Amber nods, and hehs a bit. "I've got a Whalekiller mode on one of my Manifestations... that count?" Gideon nods, "Works too, if your whalekiller is something that causes some serious pain." Juri frowns. "I hope Finn and Horatio get my messages soon, as I'd like to have at least an equal ratio of us to Finndos if we're going in." Juri says, "Or I suppose I could find some kind of assault squad in Shadow to lead aboard. Something to keep us from being overwhelmed and distract them." Juri says, "Perhaps the sabretooth cows? They did well against Brand..." Gideon says, "I still have some bunnies around ..." Corrine of Amber nods, and pulls out her dagger. She points it away from the group, and has it shift to Whalekiller mode -- ie, a 6-foot-long powered crossbow. "Iiiii think it can cause sufficent pain, Gideon...." Corrine of Amber quirks a smile. "Hell, I still have the silver-tipped cold-iron shaft for the crossbow forms." Gideon raises an eyebrow. "Niiiice. A bit larger than I like them, but that's not a problem." Gideon snickers. "Cold-iron with silver? You too?" Corrine of Amber says, "Oh, this is for special occasions. My Nephew, Shaft, uses the original as his signature weapon." Corrine of Amber has the crossbow shift back into dagger form, and she secures it on her belt above her trump case. "Hey, helps against magic and shapeshifters, so get two in one." She smiles. "I -could- use fire-pattern charged fire bolts, or trump-energy bolts if I was at home, but I'm not, so I won't." She grins a bit. Corrine of Amber says, "And in the squid, they'd be dangerous anyway, so best I'm not. Less temptation." Corrine of Amber says, "though... hmm... in the water... well, Coffee, Crossbows might have difficulty." She hrms. Gideon shrugs, "These days I tend to just put people on ice. Anyways, Juri ... I fear I don't have any sabretooth cows around, only bunnies and a t-rex." Juri says, "Well, we can take a detour to find a suitable mercenary force along the way to the squid." You page, "Would crossbows have difficulty under water, etc?" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "No, Crossbows work fine, although eventually they'll rust." to you. You page, "Her gun-forms of her manifestations have normal ammo, but no telling if they'd work around the squid, so she doesn't tend to bother.... OH! Okay, cool. :)" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "A harpoon gun is pretty much just a crossbow." to you. Corrine of Amber asks, "I take it the bunnies are more dangerous?" You page, "Hmm... ginve the actions of stuff in Ember, when half the navy suddenly turned against the other, that'd imply that the MacFinndos could take over a merc force?" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "If they have inadequate psyche defenses, yeah." to you. Juri hrms. "Gideon, could we Trump Patter-charged coffee aboard the bridges, then freeze it?" Gideon says, "Just use pattern-charged water, then. I doubt they'd tried licking the coffee anyway if cuaght." Juri says, "It's the poetic justice aspect that appeals." Corrine of Amber hehs, and nods a bit. Gideon says, "I prefer efficiency and ease of use over poetic justice." Juri says, "Perhaps that's the kind of thing to be considered as a backup plan." Corrine of Amber then mmms. "One thing to be careful of, Juri... if we -do- grab a Merc Force, we'd best make sure their psychic defenses are up to par. I've got a bad feeling the MacFinndos managed to turn half my fleet against the rest before we boarded the Squid." ============================ ============================ The Tennessee Shad says, "At this point I'm bowing out, as I'm literally falling alseep." Juri says, "As am I. G'night." Corrine of Amber OOCly nods. Corrine of Amber OOCly says, "Night!" Gideon . o O ( Okay, stop here and continue tomorrow if you can make it? ) Mange falls asleep.
