Akemi pages, "Howdy!" to you. You page, ".... John! What PERFECT Timing!" to Akemi. Corrine of Amber OOCly says, "blinks." Corrine of Amber OOCly blinks, even. Corrine of Amber OOCly says, "You know, that could NOT have been better timed." Akemi pages, "What makes my timing perfect?" to you. Juri of Avalon says, "La la la" You page, "We (Mike, Alan, me), were just about to start continuing Corrine and Juri in Squid Gumi Amber." to Akemi. Ishmael exclaims, "Lolly la! Lolly la!" Juri of Avalon asks, "When do we get to kill something?" You page, "So, if you're interested, get yer rear down to Arden. :)" to Akemi. Ishmael says, "Waiting on John... if he don't decide, I'll take over." Corrine of Amber OOCly nods. Akemi pages, "Looks like Mike will run you this time while I watch; I need to run Rod when he returns or Drew if he doesn't." to you, Kima and Mike. Ramon has arrived. Kima pages, "Hey, whatever, as long as we get to continue this. :)" to you, Akemi and Mike. You page, "Let's do this thing, then." to Akemi, Kima and Mike. John tapdances. Corrine of Amber OOCly waits patiently for Mike. Really. John says, "Nothing rushes Mike's Tea." Corrine of Amber OOCly says, "Ah, so ka." Mike teleports into the room. Mike has arrived. The Tennessee Shad says, "Right. Sorry, was getting tea." Corrine of Amber OOCly says, "Neg probs." The Tennessee Shad says, "At any rate... when last we left off, Juri, Corr, Ish, and Rose had just finished speaking to Fiona." Corrine of Amber OOCly says, "And as I recall, a random servant had just appeared, asking for the two of them." The Tennessee Shad says, "Ayup." Corrine of Amber OOCly says, "(after Ish examined Juri's Julian Manifestation.)" =========================================== =========================================== Joe Servant says, "If you ladies will accompany me, the King will see you now." Ishmael coughs. Corrine of Amber nods, smiling slightly. "Thank you. We will." She quirks an eyebrow at Ish. Juri of Avalon follows in silence. Joe Servant says, "And, I quote, 'tell those two walking natural disasters to come along as well'." Ishmael looks hurt, Rose looks satisfied. Juri of Avalon looks amused. Corrine of Amber follows as well. Corrine of Amber OOCly lags. Gr. Corrine of Amber OOCly thinks it's better now, tho. proceed. You follow the servant down corridors, up passages, along balconies, and across a catwalk, thank you very much, finally reaching an impressive looking grand hall. A regal looking man in a formal robe is sitting atop a dais, while an underling in motley is tinkering with some sort of cables and machinery on the far side of the hall. Corrine of Amber . o O (The catwalk's an interesting touch...) The servant who brought you here announces, "The King," and leaves. Juri of Avalon. o O (The fabled Roving Catwalk of Amber, long thought lost!) Juri of Avalon kneels to Random. "King Random, an honour." The man on the throne looks embarrassed. "Please, Lady Juri, don't do that." You page, "What's proper response for a Queen to respond to a King of a foreign land? She wants to balance between respect and her own... then again, she's faking it. *wg*" to Akemi. You page, "NM! :)" to Akemi. Juri of Avalon blinks, looks confused, then rises. Corrine of Amber quirks a smile, and just bows to Random. "A pleasure to meet you, King Random. I'd curtsey, but I left my skirt back home." Juri of Avalon asks, "OOC: This is the old 'The king is the guy in motley' gag, ain't it?" The man in motley walks past Juri, pausing briefly to pump her hand. "I'm glad you show proper respect to a good bass guitarist." Corrine of Amber blinks at the man in motley. The Tennessee Shad oocly swears as the damn formal slows his already slow typing speed. Corrine of Amber looks at the guy on the big chair and robe, and then at the man in motley again. Random takes his throne back from the bass player, who looks apologetic and leaves. "Um. Yeah. Nice to meetcha. From another universe, riight? Something like that?" Corrine of Amber says, "So it appears, in light of all the evidence so far." Juri of Avalon stares at her hand briefly, then laughs. Corrine of Amber grins at Juri's laughter. Ishmael hands him a thick manila folder labeled 'INCREDIBLY URGENT, UNIVERSE-DESTROYINGLY SO'. "Our initial report, sir." Corrine of Amber quirks an eyebrow at the size of Ishmael's report. . o O (Where did he find the time to -write- it?) Random takes the folder, looks harassed, and waves Ishmael away. "I also heard the name 'Brand' come up. Repeatedly." "Not your Brand," Juri says, somewhat apologetically. "Another one. From my universe's version of your Amber. He's dead now." "My understanding is that yours was simply knocked back into the Abyss after he got out for the second time." She sounds slightly disapproving of this. Corrine of Amber glances at Juri, and hehs a bit. "And all the knowledge I have of this 'Brand' is from what I've heard told by Juri of Avalon, and by those of your own reality. Ishmael, Rose, and Prince Julian, etc." Corrine of Amber says, "To the best of my knowledge, there is no 'Brand' in my own." She shrugs. Juri of Avalon murmurs something about Corrine being damn lucky. Corrine of Amber looks apologetic towards Juri, shrugging a bit. Random looks somewhat appalled at the thought of more than one Brand, then somewhat cheerful at the thought of a dead one. "Well, that's good news. Hm? No, our's never actually got out, because our good subjects here slaughtered his entire family and caused a massive diplomatic incident with Chaos using a giant Pattern-destroying war machine." He twitches slightly. "For which we rewarded them richly." Ishmael poses. Corrine of Amber glances in the direction of Ishmael and Rose. "I see." "Oh." Juri nods. "My cousin Horatio once aggravated our own situation with Chaos by attacking House Hendrake using a giant pink and gold train." Corrine of Amber blinks at Juri. Corrine of Amber says, "ah.", eloquently. Ishmael frowns. "I'm of Hendrake. We've only ever been attacked by hats." "Different universes," Juri points out. Random twitches again, pulls a bottle of something alcoholic from behind the throne, and takes a long pull. "Anyway, that's water under the squid. I also heard the name of Finndo come up." Juri of Avalon nods. "Finndo was my rebel uncle; he raised civil war against Avalon, and was killed on the field by my brother Trucido." Juri of Avalon spreads her hands. "Frankly, King Random, I have very little clue as to just why Corrine and I were brought here by the Questing Beast. I had no pressing business in my own universe, but Corrine's family was facing a crisis of seemingly epic proportions." Random brightens again at the thought of dead Finndos. "Your universe sounds like a nice place." Random says, "Well, we've got a crisis ourselves." Juri of Avalon looks at the floor. "I have only mentioned the positive points so far," she says drolly. Random says, "The MacFinndo gang broke jail the other day, and have headed for parts unknown. It now appears the fuckers took Rose and Ishmael's calamari juggernaught." Corrine of Amber hehs a bit, and nods. "Likewise as before, I know of no 'Finndo' in my universe, so I could be easily be mistaken. But yes, our own reality is beset by rampant prophesies, the Golden Circle making war against Amber, a madman named Annadil with powers unseen manipulating an insane version of my family against us, and various other odd things. It's very frustrating. And so we heard from Rose and Ishmael." Juri of Avalon says, "We've heard. Having little better to do and no apparent way of returning to our homes at presence, we have offered our aid." Corrine of Amber nods. "Indeed." Random shrugs. "I have no idea what you're here for. I guess we can use all the help we can get, but Benedict will probably want to give you the once-over to make sure you're not spies or something, and Corwin will probably want to be drunk and moody at a real live Avalonian." Juri of Avalon says, "Well, I'm not from his Avalon." Corrine of Amber says, "And I'm not from your Amber. So I suppose it works out." Corrine of Amber quirks a smile. Juri of Avalon says, "Big place, existence." Random says, "Doesn't matter. Corwin likes excuses to get drunk and moody and sing depressing stuff about ships and dead swans. Great guy, but a bit of a downer when he's not saving the universe or composing ballads." Juri of Avalon says, "Oh. All right. I'd swear I'm not a spy, but I doubt you'll take my word for it." Corrine of Amber says, "As do I." Random says, "Oh, I will, but Benedict's who you need to convince. I'm just the King." Random says, "Benedict's Benedict, and so outranks me." Corrine of Amber nods. "Where is he, then?" She quirks an eyebrow. Juri of Avalon shrugs. "I'll do my best. The one I met seemed a hard man to convince." Random says, "I'm not sure where he is right now. You should probably also have a talk with Vialle; she's good with weird people. No offense. And maybe Dworkin, as he's our expert at universes and stuff." Juri of Avalon shrugs again. "All right. I place myself at your disposal for the moment, King Random." Corrine of Amber smiles. "None taken. And I as well, King Random, as a gesture of goodwill, etcetera." Random says, "Cool." He takes another pull from the bottle, and offers it to you. "You can work with Ishmael, who's in charge of the situation by reason of being the only one who rounded up the MacFinndo gang to begin with who at least pretends to know what he's doing." Juri of Avalon sips from the bottle, then offers it to Corrine. Corrine of Amber accepts the bottle, and then sips from it. "Note the 'pretends,'" Rose says somewhat dreamily. Corrine of Amber . o O (He reminds me SO much of Tylor.) Corrine of Amber chuckles, and hands the bottle back to Random. Random says, "So, like, did a really cool guy who plays a mean set of drums wind up reigning over a bunch of backstabbing egotists in your universes?" Juri of Avalon says, "If you mean to ask whether you are also king in my universe's Amber, the answer is yes." Corrine of Amber says, "Well, I don't know if my brother Tylor plays drums, but he is pretty cool, and a sailor..." Random says, "Hey, hail to me." You page, "Does Random happen to look like corrine's "Random"? :)" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "Exactly." to you. Juri of Avalon facetiously salutes Random. Corrine of Amber makes the vulcan peace sign. "Live long and prosper, King Random." Random says, "Anyway, Ishmael, Rose, take them to see Vialle and her severed heads. I want their take on this." Corrine of Amber . o O (Mentioning to King Random that it would appear that an alternate him works in my Forest Rangers would probably not be a good idea.) Ishmael salutes. "Yessir, severed head, right away sir." Juri of Avalon says, "Oh. Boy. Severed heads." Random says, "Seeya, Juri, Corrine. Hope the universe thing works out." He returns to tinkering with the cables. Juri of Avalon calmly follows Ishmael to the severed heads. Corrine of Amber says, "Interesting hobby your wife has, Random... and oh, how do you manage to get that setup to work here... oh, wait, nevermind, later!" Corrine of Amber waves to Random, and follows after Juri. Ishmael leads the two down some halls, up some stairs, and finally into a sculpture studio. A tiny woman in a green dress is working some clay into a bust of a man in a beard and ponytail and glasses. On a bench beside her are finished busts, one of a greek god, and one of an evil-looking, skeletal visiage. Vialle looks up, although her eyes don't seem to focus on you. "Hello?" Juri of Avalon says, "Queen Vialle, I am Juri of Avalon. It is a pleasure to meet you." Ishmael says, "It's Ishmael, Queen Vialle. The Man had me bring the two visitors up." Corrine of Amber says, "And, I am Corrine of Amber." She bows. "A pleasure to make your aquaintence, Queen Vialle." Corrine of Amber glances at the sculpture, eyebrows raised, trying to place the busts. Vialle says, "And I'm pleased to meet both of you." She smiles. "I think Random wanted me to pump you for information. Would you like some tea first?" Juri of Avalon says, "Yes." Corrine of Amber smiles. "Yes, please." Vialle says, "Ishmael?" Juri of Avalon says, "I mean, please. Tea would be very nice. It's been a long last few days." Ishmael waves his hand absently, and a steaming teapot appears. Vialle coughs meaningfully. "I'm going to be drinking the tea too." Ishmael turns slightly pale, gestures, and the teapot seems to blink for a second. Vialle says, "That's better. Thank you, dear." She carefully pours out a cup. Corrine of Amber quirks an eyebrow at Ishmael, and looks for a place to sit. There are chairs scattered about the studio. Juri of Avalon pours herself a cup when Vialle is finished and sits down in a chair, as close to Vialle as possible. Corrine of Amber gets a trio of chairs, dragging them into a pairing and a single for Vialle, and for herself and Juri. Ishmael pours out cups for Juri and Corrine, and one for himself. Corrine of Amber, okay, gets chairs for Ish and Rose, too. Corrine of Amber accepts a cup, and then sits down. Vialle sips at her tea and waits for the others to get confortable. "Are you sisters?" Juri of Avalon takes a moment to answer. "No." Corrine of Amber considers. "Not really, no. Juri's sister Darako looked like me, and my sister Juri looks like Juri here. But we are not directly related, no." Vialle nods. "There's a kinship in your voices, with Juri the elder in more than one way." Corrine of Amber mms?, and then looks curiously at Juri, and then nods. "Hm. Yes, I could see that, I think." She smiles a bit. Juri of Avalon just silently stares into her teacup. Corrine of Amber's smile falls, and she looks down at her own tea, before sipping. Vialle says, "Sisters, I've found, tend to be very complex. I once scupted a pair, in Rebma... it was hard to tell where one face began and the other left off. There's a great deal of overlap, which is not always pleasing. In an artistic sense." "Sibling relationships are very complex," Juri murmurs. Corrine of Amber quirks an eyebrow, and then nods. "Oh yes. But at the same time, one can find the differences, and highlight those. Or try to acheive a synergy with the overlap, which helps reinforce. And... yes." You page, "Great. We've put two artists in the same room. They'll either get along swimmingly, or start a style Jihad." to Mike. You page, ":)" to Mike. Vialle says, "Goodness, yes. At times I think it's the differences that keep us all together. Random's family has had it's share of troubles along those lines... Corwin and Eric come to mind." Juri of Avalon says, "It is not a story with which I am familiar." Corrine of Amber says, "Nor I. Though my brothers Touga and Saionji had a bit of a rivalry for a long while. I think it's settled down though... too early to say." She shrugs and sips more tea. Vialle says, "Corwin and Eric were brothers. Very similar; probably more alike than any of the rest of the family. They hated each other, and wars were fought and people I care about were hurt over their feud." Corrine of Amber winces. Juri of Avalon doesn't make any visible response, nor say anything, and calmly sips her tea. Vialle says, "Eric eventually died defending Amber, with Corwin marching an army to help him do so. They never reconciled, but they had by that point found a common enemy, and more importantly, a common love worth defending. I think, had Eric lived, they would have mended things. Or killed each other. It is hard to say." Corrine of Amber just purses her lips, quiet, and sips again. Juri sips her tea again and looks distant, and slightly sad. Then she speaks. "It's impossible to say. How matters might stand, if someone had lived instead of died. Impossible." Juri of Avalon says, "So, agonizing over it is futile. Perhaps even self-indulgent." Vialle says, "Yes. Unfortunately." Corrine of Amber nods, slightly. "Even if one seeks in Shadow... the circumstances leading up to that instance are different from the one in Reality." Her lips quirk a bit. "Though there is always the hope of a second chance... perhaps, at least, to do better with others, so as not to let the prior be in vain." Juri of Avalon finishes her tea. "Such is the hope," she says softly. Corrine of Amber nods, slightly. You page, "(this is corrine, trying to bite her tounge and NOT mention half her staff in Ember. ;)" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "Heh." to you. Vialle says, "I understand that you are unsure why you are here?" She smiles slightly. "That is, even moreso than the rest of us?" Ishmael mumbles, "Well, I know why _I'm_ here..." Rose nudges him. Juri of Avalon says, "We were brought here by the Questing Beast. Beyond that, we know little" Juri of Avalon says, "Having recently learned of the sentience of the Pattern, and knowing the Beast's connection to it, I surmise that it was acting as an agent, perhaps in some act of cooperation between various Patterns for reasons unknown." Corrine of Amber says, "Various circumstances and events between our realities and your own have some parallels, so perhaps an effort to pooling knowledge in some fasion. But other than that...." She shrugs. Vialle says, "Oh, that scamp. Hm." She thinks. "It would seem to point at a deeper power being behind things. Would you be willing to assist in an experiment to learn more?" Corrine of Amber quirks an eyebrow, curious. "What form of an experiment?" "As long as it doesn't involve evil black tar," Juri says dryly. Vialle says, "It doesn't. Merely the asking of questions." She gets up, and carefully arranges the three busts around the two of you. "These are trumps. Of a sort." Juri of Avalon quirks an interested frown and peers at the busts. Corrine of Amber blinks at the busts, and then peeers at them, trying to use her Trump Skills to see if they are indeed Trumps (of a sort) as she would recognize them. Vialle says, "Most trumps are tuned to a specific person and the visual. These are more recievers, picking up a concept or universal current rather than a set target." Mike pages, "Yes, they are imbued with trump energy, but of a strange, almost alien kind." to you. Corrine of Amber whistles, softly. "...Impressive. That bespeaks of great skill..." Her eyes are somewhat unfocussed before she re-focusses again, looking at Vialle. Juri of Avalon blinks. "Abstract trumps?" Vialle says, "Not so much skill. Just... a different perspective." Corrine of Amber says, "And different perspectives are -always- worthwhile." Corrine of Amber quirks a smile. Vialle smiles. "I like to think so." Vialle says, "This one," she points to the greek-like one, "is Orpheus. This," she points to the skull, "is Vecna. And this," she indicates the ponytailed bust, "Is Branch. Ask them questions, and we will try to sift the answers." Juri of Avalon somewhat hesitantly asks, "Why were Corrine and I brought here?" Orpheus says, "The beast seeks its own." Vecna says, "Destruction calls to destroyers." Branch says, "It seemed like a good idea at the time." Corrine of Amber blinks at these answers. Juri of Avalon looks to Corrine, as if to say, "Your turn". Corrine of Amber glances at Juri, and then nods. She addresses the three busts. "How may we return to our homes?" Orpheus says, "Ride the phoenix at the heart of leviathan." Vecna says, "Kill the dreams of a family." Branch says, "Jump through the hoop, boy!" Juri of Avalon thinks for a moment. "'Leviathan' would seem most obviously to be your, err... Logrus Squid." Juri of Avalon says, "The family, perhaps, is this Finndo Clan..." Corrine of Amber quirks an eyebrow, and glances back at Juri. "And the dreams of a family... hopefully... would be those of the MacFinndos." Ishmael nods agreement. "Although the Phoenix isn't in Fido." Ishmael pauses. Juri of Avalon says, "Perhaps the phoenix is a symbol of something else?" Corrine of Amber asks, "Mmm?" Juri of Avalon says, "I remember, Tomas, Brand's son... his sign was the Serpent and the Phoenix." The Tennessee Shad yelps, whips out a trump, and vanishes. The Tennessee Shad says, "argh." Ishmael yelps, whips out a trump, and vanishes. Juri of Avalon says, "..." Corrine of Amber asks, ".... the hell?" Juri of Avalon says, "It would have been good for him to stay and tell us just what he'd concluded." Rose says, "I just work here." Corrine of Amber glances at Rose. "I take it your Phoenix here is more a physical entity, Rose?" Juri of Avalon asks, "As I was about to say, perhaps the Phoenix represents Brand?" Rose says, "Yeah, and it's currently curled up at the heart of Ish's Pattern." Juri of Avalon says, "...or perhaps not." Corrine of Amber says, "... Ish.... has a Pattern." Corrine of Amber asks, "This... wouldn't happen to be your Fire Pattern, would it?" Rose says, "Yeah. It used to just be a broken pattern, but then he repaired it and hosed down the old fire pattern with blood. I got to be a burning puddle of logrus, and Rhianna stepped in me." Juri of Avalon puts her head in her hands and sighs gently. Juri of Avalon asks, "So, what do you think he concluded?" Rose says, "I think he ran off to make sure Fido hadn't eaten his Pattern and swallowed the Phoenix." Corrine of Amber purses her lips. "That somebody likely tried to grab the Phoenix or...." Corrine of Amber says, "Urg." Juri of Avalon says, "Well, I suspect that may have already happened." Rose says, "We probably won't see him for a bit either way. He's be upset if it did get eaten. He went to so much trouble to make that deal with the Phoenix, too." Corrine of Amber considers. "And since we have no ready means of following Ishmael...." She frowns. "Though... hrm. What deal?" Corrine of Amber looks thoughtfully at the 3 busts still standing there. Juri of Avalon murmurs, "Destruction calls to destroyers..." Rose says, "Well, I don't understand it all, but the Phoenix gets freedom, power, and a Primal Symbol, and Ishmael gets the power of a universe editing god." Rose says, "In theory, at least." Corrine of Amber says, "...the apparent duplication of Logrus Squids, perhaps? It would tie with the prior statement... either that, or the Questing Beast feels we're kin in some way, and we've been brought here to put the kibosh on a destroye----" Corrine of Amber looks at Rose as if she gained a second head. "...good Unicorn." She then shakes her head. Rose says, "I think they were still trying to decide what their Primal Symbol should represent, since Order and Chaos were already taken. We were trying to convince them that 'Asskicking' wasn't really a suitable concept." Juri of Avalon sighs and looks at the busts. "Look, can you just please tell us plainly what the hell we're supposed to do, you stupid primal powers?" Juri of Avalon exclaims, "Because I'm frankly sick of being jerked around!" Orpheus says, "Pursue the pawns of your sister's killer, Princess Juri." Juri of Avalon looks as though she's just been slapped across the face at that. Vecna says, "Destroy those who would bring revolution to your universe, Princess Corrine." Branch says, "Damn, y'all be SO fuckered, it ain't even funny." Corrine of Amber BLINKS, and looks at Juri quickly, and her head then snaps back around at the second head. It's a wonder she doesn't get whiplash. Corrine of Amber says, "If the Finndos gained control of the Phoenix... they could Revolutionize the world." She shudders... "... and Annadil's stated goal is to open the Gate of Revolution in our own Tir'na-Nog." Juri of Avalon says, "The Revolution was brought to my universe; it was the means of Brand's release. But they may not be the same." Juri of Avalon rises from her seat. Juri of Avalon says, "I have a faint idea of what may be going on. The Finndo Clan may be being manipulated somehow by Brand's son, Tomas; he... is the only one I can think of who would qualify as my sister's killer in this situation." Juri of Avalon says, "I am unsure if that is correct, however; most times, when I make logical leaps, they turn out to be hideously and tragically wrong." Vialle says, "But, as you point out, this is a different universe from your own." Vialle says, "How would he have gotten here, or found them?" Corrine of Amber purses her lips. "It's more similar to my own in some ways.... Queen Vialle... is there a trapdoor or room beneath the Tir'na-Nog Pattern here?" "Through the Logrus, perhaps?" Juri paces. "I... I don't see how it can refer to anyone _other_ than him... Corrine of Amber considers. Vialle says, "I don't believe so, Corrine." Corrine of Amber says, "Annadil is a Chaosian in our Universe, Juri. He presumably could have used the Logrus, though I shudder to think of him assisting people here." Juri of Avalon looks at the busts again. "Is it him?" she hisses. "Is he the one behind this?" Orpheus says, "You're one microscopic cog in his catastrophic plan, designed and directed by his red right hand." Vecna says, "You have not spilled enough blood; your stabs are false and mislead you, you have not killed enough or correctly." Branch says, "Boy, are you in for a shock, bud." Juri of Avalon stands for a moment, looking from one bust to another with a fierce wallaby on her face, then sits back down and stares at her hands. Juri of Avalon says, "The _fuck_? Fierce _scowl_. Fucking filters." The Tennessee Shad says, "A fierce WALLABY? O.o;" Juri of Avalon facepalms. Rose says, "OOC ............" Corrine of Amber OOCly says, "It's the Wallaby of Amber, Mike." Juri of Avalon says, "Well, that utterly ruined the atmosphere." Corrine of Amber OOCly patpats Alan. Corrine of Amber mmms quietly, and looks levelly at the busts. "How can I assist Juri, and destroy those who would bring revolution to my universe?" Orpheus says, "Be sun to her moon, light to her shade, support and strong arm, and stand united together against the unity of your foes." Vecna says, "Destroy the Finndo With No Name before he can kill her, destroy the daught of the dead before her vengeance is enacted, destroy the two who pull the strings of the squid." Branch says, "Juri needs to get laid. Get it on with her, girl!" Corrine of Amber says, "................" Juri of Avalon asks, "...Vialle?" Vialle coughs. "I haven't quite finished that one, and it may not be the most reliable..." Juri of Avalon asks, "Why _exactly_ did you include that third bust in this trio?" Corrine of Amber says, "Time for another revision cycle?" Juri of Avalon averts her gaze from Corrine, looking quite embarassed. Corrine of Amber is blushing a bit as well, thank you muchly. How you can tell through that tan is anybody's guess. Vialle says, "There have to be three. It's symmetry. And while Orpheus and Vecna are deeper, Branch does tend to cut to the heart of the matter in plain language." Vialle says, "Most of the time, anyway." "Not this time," Juri mutters. Corrine of Amber says, "Ah... yes. Hrm." She coughs. "Any more questions for the trio? If not I think I may have one or two more..." Juri of Avalon looks to the trio one last time. "Are we to pursue the Finndo Clan and the Squid, then?" Orpheus says, "Go forth, seek them, and build a bond between three emperiled universes." Vecna says, "Go forth, seek them, and bring death to those who would ruin three besieged realities." Branch says, "Go forth, find them, and some hot lesbian action would be nice too." Corrine of Amber facepalms. Juri of Avalon looks as though she's tempted to swat Branch onto the floor, but refrains. Vialle says, "I can see I'll need to put this one back in the kiln when we're done." "That would seem like a 'yes' from all three," Juri says drolly. "I think we're done with the trio." Corrine of Amber says, "Ah, yes. If not start over from scratch." She then considers, and addresses the trio. "One last from myself... how may Juri and I regain our connections to our constructs, Julian and Gabrielle, so as to be able to use their abilities here?" Orpheus says, "The principle of similarity should be your guide." Vecna says, "Crush those who would deny you the Cave of Worlds." Branch says, "It just ain't meant to be, babe. Nice outfit, by the way." Juri of Avalon says, "OOC: Next time, I spend those 13 points on a really nice crossbow. -.-" Corrine of Amber coughs, and blushes again. "Thank you." She glances at Juri and Vialle. "Well, I had to ask." Juri of Avalon shrugs. "I suppose we'll just have to do without. While I dislike being without my missile weapons, there seems nothing to be done about it." Juri of Avalon says, "My concern now is with how we will pursue the Finndo Clan, given that our Shadow-walking abilities do not seem to function in this universe." Corrine of Amber hehs a bit. "True. Hrm. Queen Vialle, is there a nearby reputable armorer who works for the Royal Family here that I can use to replenish my crossbows?" Corrine of Amber pauses. Corrine of Amber looks at the three busts. "Can our Shadow-walking abilities work here in this reality?" Vialle says, "The castle armorer should be glad to see to replenishing your stock." Corrine of Amber glances at Juri, somewhat wry. "After all, we -did- appear rather deep in Arden." Orpheus says, "You are beyond the scope of your art." Vecna says, "You may not impose your reality on this one." Branch says, "No shirt, no shoes, no native Pattern, no service." Corrine of Amber sighs a bit, and shrugs. "Again, hadda ask. Thanks, you three." Juri of Avalon hmms, then shakes her head. "No. That wouldn't work." Corrine of Amber looks at Juri. "Hm?" Juri of Avalon says, "I momentarily considered the possibility that we might walk this Amber's Pattern. But there are too many arguments against it." Corrine of Amber nods. "We're not of their drawer's blood, as far as I know. I'm not too eager to have myself fried alive, thanks." Juri of Avalon says, "I suppose we could talk with this... Dworkin, was it? He might be able to enlighten us further." Rose says, "You'd make a career change to sparkly bits if you tried." Rose says, "Oh, Dworkin's wise. But he's even more mystic than the talking heads here." Corrine of Amber says, "Like grandfather, I suppose." Corrine of Amber quirks a slight smile. Rose says, "He also is more nuts than a squirrel convention, and seems to encourage Ishamel." Rose says, "And he has a hat." Rose shudders. Juri of Avalon shrugs. "Well, as long as we're working with you, we can travel through Shadow. I merely have a heavy dislike for the idea of getting stranded permanently in Shadow if we become separated." Corrine of Amber considers. "If we could have native trump decks, it would be greatly appreciated." Rose says, "Have Ish make you a shadowguide. And we can provide you with trump desks as well." Corrine of Amber says, "Whenever Ish gets back, that is." =============================== =============================== Corrine of Amber OOCly mrgs, getting to the point of needing to thud, but thinks that we can at least get them headed for the Dworkinmeister before forking the scene. And then other things can be done later as well. Rose says, "OOC Well, now I can say I've seen someone call Morgoth a bitch in an RPG :)" Corrine of Amber OOCly long-distance cheers on Shaft! The Tennessee Shad says, "Well, unless you had anything else here, Rose will take you to see Dworkin. I need to collapse now, though; early class tomorrow." The Tennessee Shad says, "So that's all for tonight. See you lot later..." Corrine of Amber OOCly says, "Night, Mike! Good stuff!" Mike pulls out a pasteboard card and studies it intently.
