Mikage asks, "What me do today, John?"

Miki asks, "Do you have any plans for the day before the Final Showdown?"

Mikage says, "Me? Hmm. After healing up... ^^;"

Corrine says, "You've also got those two months or so at the Keep, though
once you leave the fasttime, you'd best be in Amber proper."

Mikage nods. "Is Trump safe again?"

Miki says, "Trump is safe again."

Mikage asks, "Can Corrine give me a Trump of the Keep? Just in case?"

Rod says, "OOCly can't game yet, john, swamped ATM at work X.x"

Miki says, "Yeah, she could do that easily."

Miki says, "OOC No problem, Rod, will run Mikage."

Corrine OOCly says, "I beleive Corrine will be making several trumps of
the Keep for folks, once she's centered a bit, yes."

Corrine OOCly says, "And she and Gideon would have confirmed trump was now
safe there."

Mikage says, "OOC Ahr."

Mikage says, "OOC Proper preparation... all things in proper order and
sequence... ah, of course. I'll speak to Tylor, and then Anthy."

Mikage says, "One moment, reconnect..."

Mikage says, "Back"

Rod says, "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRUUUUUUUUUUGHHH"

Rod asks, "okay, in THEORY I'm clear... what's going on here?"

Mikage says, "Nothing yet."

Miki says, "Righto."

Miki says, "Okay, Rod, if you'll step into Arden, I'll handle you there
and Mikage here."

Rod says, "righto"

Rod has left.

Mikage asks, "Btw, I take the Horn and I sanitize a Spikard. What does it
tell me?"

Miki says, "Once you scrub its brain, it tells you that they came to fight
your army at the command of King Random, because your Amber was plotting
to destroy theirs."

Corrine OOCly ponders how to give a Noogie to a Spikard.

Mikage says, "Brilliant."

Utena asks, "What else do you ask the ring?"

Mikage says, "What it knows about Annadil and/or the Keep."

Utena says, "It doesn't know what an Annadil is."

Mikage says, "Double brilliant."

Mikage says, "Oh well. As long as it knows its place, I'll ask no more
questions."

Utena says, "It knows the Keep was some sort of trump energy source ruled
by a weird Elemental Cult."

Mikage asks, "OOC Does Corrine want to talk to Mikage about something
first?"

Corrine OOCly says, "hrms."

Mikage says, "OOC Because after I leave, The Keep'll zoom by for months
^^;"

Corrine OOCly says, "Prolly ask him to check for any risks on those flawed
pattern blades they recovered, or other nasties; mostly she's going to be
busy healing, herself, gathering info on Ember (it's not good, but
dealable at the moment), probably do a little musical dueting. *wl*"

Mikage says, "OOC Ah. :)"

Mikage says, "OOC Cool."

Corrine OOCly says, "And also gathering info on Amber's current state
before the group goes back.  And helping Gid/Shizu with their construct
setup.  Therapy Through Hard Work and all that."

Mikage says, "OOC Ah. Okay."

Corrine OOCly says, "in 4 days, who knows?  Perhaps Saionji's captured
'Eowyn' after all.  Not that she can follow up on it right now, with the
universes to save and all."

Corrine OOCly says, "Oh, and everybody who -survived- the Keep Assault got
an Ember Commondation of Valor.  Across the board.  Which means Mikage
gets one. ^_^"

Utena asks, "OOC Okay, so you two gonna have a convo then before Mikage
runs off?"

Shizumaru has connected.

Mikage says, "OOC Thanks then."

Mikage says, "OOC Er, I dunno."

Mikage says, "OOC Hi, Shiz."

Corrine OOCly says, "Hm.  Prolly a safe thing to run, if y' want -- make
it a week or two after Corrine and Mikage have managed to heal up fully...
Corrine would've coped with most of her trauma by then, having gone to
'Let's Do This Thing' mode."

Corrine OOCly says, "And, what IS the news from Amber, john? *wl*"

Shizumaru OOCly says, "So what's happening? Anything IC here?"

what rate does the Trump conversation go? Do they speed up or do you slow

Shizumaru pages, "Oh, tell me that you're going to RP Juri telling Corrine

I'm hopeing so... *wl*" to Kima and Shizumaru. Kima pages, "When we get a

It's a pleasant afternoon as Mikage makes his preparations to depart.

When Corrine approaches.

Mikage says, "Oh, good day, Corrine."

Corrine smiles a bit, looking into the room which Mikage had claimed
during their stay at the keep.  She's looking... well, she's looked worse,
and she's looked better, but at least she has her ear back now, which is
good.  "Hey there, Mikage.  Getting ready to head out?"

Mikage says, "Yes. I have preparations to make in Amber before our friend
Annadil arrives."

Corrine nods.  "So do we, which we'll be handling once we pop back to
Amber as well.  But for the moment, while we're here, we're upping the
defenses of the place." She chuckles a bit, softly.  "With things as they
are, we'll probably appear back in Amber just minutes after you do."

Mikage says, "Yes, I suppose you're right. Oh, I enjoyed our duet together
very much, by the way."

You page, "Can we assume at this point that Corrine's at least heard about
the Blue Knight/White Knight situation from the Red Knight, when she
trumped him in for a mutual consolation session?" to Akemi. Akemi pages,
"Yes." to you. You page, "I can gloss over most of the Amber sitch, though
I'll need the info more for Juri/Corrine convo, later(earlier)...." to
Akemi.

Corrine blushes at that, but smiles.  "As did I.  And it went over well
with those who listened.  We should do more of that when this all blows
over."

Mikage nods. "We should." He smiles back.

Corrine nods, and then hrms.  "Yeah.... hrm.  Mikage?  Were you able to
get anything out of the items we claimed from the Dark Unicorn Elders? 
Any nasties or traps?"

Mikage asks, "So," changing the subject, "how are you and the Red Knight,
if I may ask?"

Corrine blinks, and coughs, and blushes, and sighs.  "... we've... been
better."  She looks up, again.  "Not in the relationship end, but..."

TimeRunner whispers, "Don't worry, I'll answer the question in a while ^^;
Didn't know you were going to say something. ^^;" to you and Akemi. You
page, "No problems. *wl*" to TimeRunner.

Corrine says, "While we were on the march here... the Blue Knight died."

Mikage says, "Oh. I'm sorry to hear that, then..."

Corrine rubs her eyes. "... the Blue Knight dead, the White Knight
missing, probably dead... Carl was pretty ripped up over it."

Corrine smiles a bit.  "Thank you, Mikage."

Mikage says, "You're welcome."

Mikage says, "...the items weren't trapped, or anything like that, by the
way. They're pretty much safe to use."

Corrine nods.  "That's good to hear, then." She quirks a wry, sardonic
smile.  "After the LAST time I got an artifact of tremendous destructive
power and what it made me do, I'm sowmwhat wary of other things that drop
into my lap by chance."

Mikage chuckles. "I tend to have less problems of that sort, actually, but
I do know what you mean."

Corrine hehs a bit.  "Yeah, I can imagine, I suppose.  But I don't like to
take chances on that score.  Not when family's at stake."  She glances up
at Mikage.

Mikage meets her gaze. "Yes?"

Mikage asks, "What is it?"

Corrine hehs a bit.  "Just..." she shakes her head, and chuckles.  "Just
that one way or another, no matter how one looks at it, you're family to
me.   I just wanted to say that." She coughs, and chuckles. "And I'm
-damn- glad that you and Falme came along on this.  If you ever need a
place to rest and recover, hop up to Ember for a spell... well, the
offer's open." 

Mikage smiles. "Thank you. That means a lot to me."

Mikage says, "OOC Could Corrine do a Trump of Nemuro Hall? ^^; I'm kinda
tired of having to shadowwalk there all the time." Corrine OOCly says,
"She'd need a Psyche Impression, since she's never been there before, but
if you mention it, I think she could do so nowadays." Corrine OOCly says,
"GM's ruling on that, mind." Utena says, "OOC You'd need to give her a
psychic impression of it, or take her there." Mikage says, "OOC I would."
Mikage says, "OOC Give her an impression, that is." Corrine OOCly says, "I
can work with that." Mikage says, "OOC There's the ring, but no one trusts
them so... ^^;"

You page, "And gives me a good comedy beat. ;)" to Akemi.
You page, "(since there's Nemuro Symphony Hall in -Ember-, and Corrine's
never BEEN to HIS place... :)" to Akemi.

Corrine says, "You're welcome." She smiles, hrming. "I -think- that's
about it, save for my general advice to at least try to walk a Pattern to
clean out anything left over from the various psychic combats you were in
back during the assault;  but surely you knew that already."  She grins.

Mikage smiles. "Well, the trouble with that is I'd have to wait for
moonrise to walk the Air Pattern, but I'll see what I can do."

Corrine says, "Well, you shouldn't have any problems walking the Metal
Pattern, or Fire, or Wood if I knew where it -was-..." She gives a wry
look.  "At least in my experience.  Any of them would work for
brainscrubbing." She shrugs.  "But that's just my advice."

Mikage nods. "Thanks for the advice. I think I'd best be off now." He
grins wryly, takes Corrine's handm and kisses it. "By your leave, your
Majesty."

Corrine chuckles at that, and blushes, but grins, having gotten used to
that sort of thing over the years.  "You have it, Prince Mikage."

Corrine doesn't pull away, either.

Mikage lingers a bit, then lets her hand go.

Mikage says, "Fare well." He pulls out the trump of his room in Amber, and
concentrates on it.

Corrine smiles, and waves.  "And you as well.  Safe Journeys, and we'll
see you on the flip side."

Mikage nods.

Blink, you're in Amber.

Mikage says, "Time is of the essence here... to Tylor, then."

Mikage strides out of his room.

You page, "Hrm, I forgot to tell you this, which amuses me." to Akemi. You
page, "At Katsu, when Liam finally got in, I explained to him how I hadn't
been working on ser, due to TAMD...." to Akemi. You page, "So I summarized
TAMD, or at least Corrine's particpation in it, from the Throne-war on."
to Akemi. You page, "Only took me about an hour.  And Liam -understood-
it. :)" to Akemi.

And where do you go?

Utena says, "OOC Oh, right to Tylor."

You stride through the castle, looking for Tylor.

The servants tell you that Tylor is down in the harbor and has gone out in
a boat towards the storm.

Mikage says, "Brilliant. He will have to wait."

Mikage asks, "OOC What storm?"
Corrine OOCly says, "Prolly the big-ass Shadow Storm over the Rebma
Whirlpool." Utena says, "OOC The now permanent storm blocking the Gulf
of...what she said." Mikage says, "OOC Ahr. Never mind. First to mother,
then to Anthy." Mikage says, "OOC And yes, I know what's happening in the
next room :)"

Mother is out on the boat with Tylor.  But you do get directions to Anthy,
who is in the library.

Windir wakes up.

Mikage says, "I trump Tylor."

Mikage says, "OOC While walking to the library."

Tylor does not take your trump call.  Do you try trumping your mother?

Mikage says, "OOC Yup. Trump Utena."

You page, "Oh, fyi, I assume with Corrine reporting back to Yuriko et. al
prior in the stay at the keep with her getting Amber info, she would've
informed herr about the successful capture of the place, etc." to Akemi.
In a page-pose to you, Akemi nods

Utena answers the call.  She's on a boat near a massive storm.  "Hi, son,"
she says.

Mikage asks, "Hello. Where are you headed?"

"The King is trying to see if he can push back the storm with the
Demi-Jewel of Metal," she replies.  "We've had some luck, for which I'm
grateful."

Mikage asks, "Ah. What of the preparations for tonight?"

The_Prof pages, "What's happening at the moment? o.o" to you.
You page, "BAsically, slowly starting to get things planned as we get
closer to the final showdow." to The_Prof. The_Prof pages, "Ah. Gonna be
interesting..." to you.

Utena says, "Everything is set in place.  I can't say more as we fear
someone is tapping Trump Conversations."

Mikage says, "True. The Keep is secure for now. I'm here to make final
preparations of my own."

She nods.  "Well, I'll be out here on this boat just in case assassins
show up until Dinner.  I think Tylor wants to meet with everyone then."

Mikage nods. "Very well. I'll meet you then."

"How did the assault on the Keep go?"

You page, "Oh, did Yuriko report the suspicion of folks tapping Trump
Convos?  And what made them think that?" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "They're
being paranoid, mostly :)  And if someone IS doing it, they want that
person to think they're on to them" to you. You page, "Coonless. And gives
Corrine another reason to work on developing Trump Jamming skills." to
Akemi. You page, "(Corrine + Gideon + Gabrielle + Trump Jamming == TCCM! 
SecureTrump!  And other goodies!)" to Akemi.

Mikage chuckles. "It went well, considering."

Mikage says, "A little less help and we would've lost. It was that close."

She winces.  "Are you okay?"

She looks you up and down obviously looking for injuries.

Mikage says, "I'm fine now. Took a few weeks off to heal."

Shizumaru pages, "Hm. What's Corrine's psyche? Just remembering how John
said that she'd be able to waylay Gerard in a brain fight." to you. You
page, "Corrine's bought up to 30." to Shizumaru. Shizumaru pages, "Ah, I
see." to you. You page, "Corrine used to be 20, and kept getting eaten in
FoF, so I figured during the 20 years with Hiko... *wg*" to Shizumaru. In
a page-pose to you, Shizumaru nods. :) You page, "Corrine's now a pretty
'decent' character, I think, attr wise.  Going to have to boost her
End/Str again, for the heck of it.  Just to keep to theme. ;) But she's
now a lot more capable queen." to Shizumaru. In a page-pose to you,
Shizumaru nods. :)

She nods.  "Good.  Have you been to see your father yet?"

Mikage asks, "No, not yet. Is he in Amber?"

Utena says, "I think he's helping Wakaba and Nanami build magical devices
for the battle tonight in Nanami's lab."

Mikage nods. "I shall not keep you, then. Fare well."

"Goodbye, son.  See you later."

Mikage continues toward the Library.

You reach the library, where Anthy and Travis are consulting together on
some books.  Anthy looks up and smiles at you.

Mikage gives a slight bow. "Good day, Travis, Anthy."

Anthy nods.  "I am glad to see you are well, Mikage.  How did things go at
the Keep?"

Travis, the Royal Librarian bows to Mikage. "Good day, Prince Mikage."

Mikage says, "It went well, Anthy. You seem busy."

Akemi has connected.
Akemi has disconnected.
Mikage says, "OOC D'oh."
Mikage says, "It went well, Anthy. You seem busy."
Utena asks, "OOC What last I say?"
Mikage says, "OOC Good day, Prince Mikage."

Anthy says, "Travis and I are discussing the interpretation of certain
obscure prophecies in the light of some old notebooks of Gendo's that
Travis managed to dig up."

Mikage asks, "Gendo's old notes, you say?"

She nods.  "I'm trying to figure out if the fungal creatures invading
Talma and northern Uila are indeed the Red Death of the Prophecies."

Corrine OOCly says, "AUUUUGH!  THE FUNGUS!"

Mikage says, "Mmm. Let me have a look." He goes to stand beside Anthy.

Travis, the Royal Librarian points out a passage. "In the time of the
Threats from Outside, let Arden note well the Destroyer of the Mind."

Travis, the Royal Librarian asks, "I'm not sure exactly what this refers
to -- some sort of super-Psyche wielder?"

Autolyca OOC Derith waves his hand for attention. :)
Moriya OOCly cuts off Derith's hand.
Corrine OOCly says, "'I'm sorry, but the Uber Psyche Master you wish to
reach is Not In Service.'"

Mikage says, "Destroyer of the Mind..."

Anthy says, "Gendo devoted an entire notebook to theories on what this
could be."

Mikage says, "One thing I'll say about Gendo, he sure was thorough." He
chuckles softly.

She pages through it, showing various theories, ranging from a giant
floating brain to tiny parasitic mind-infestors.

Travis, the Royal Librarian nods. "Have you ever heard of someone known as
Azeraphale? He seems to figure prominently in the interpretation notes."

Mikage says, "No, Im afraid not."

Travis, the Royal Librarian says, "Hm. Pity. If we could dig him up, we
could use his assistance right now. Some of these references are obscure
even for me."

Anthy nods.  "Unfortunately, he's all the way down in Singh."

Mikage says, "Brilliant."

Anthy says, "Do you have time to spend helping us, or are you busy right
now?"

Travis, the Royal Librarian says, "For example, this part here -- 'When
the land cries out in pain, beware the terrors that lurk in the mind.'"

Mikage says, "I could help, and I have a few questions to ask you as well,
Anthy."

Travis, the Royal Librarian says, "'Swift are they, and many-fingered.
Only the strong mind will resist."

Mikage says, "When the land cries out in pain..." He shakes his head.

Anthy says, "That's always the problem with prophecies.  They often come
clear too late to be of use."

Travis, the Royal Librarian says, "I think the writer must have been
suffering from the aftereffects of mind-altering substances; she claims to
have heard voices coming from the earth itself."

Mikage says, "Shub-Niggurath, perhaps..."

Anthy nods.  "That would make sense.  Fungus is easily within her power."

Travis, the Royal Librarian blinks and starts, then starts quickly
flipping through the book. "This part here might have something to do with
it -- it states that the Red Death comes as the land is wounded, torn away
from its natural state."

Mikage asks, "OOC Xenofungus, John?"
Anthy says, "OOC Heh.  Clever man :)"

Anthy nods.  "No doubt due to the increase in the heat and loss of water."

Mikaze wakes up.

Mikage nods. "Perhaps the fungus is sentient, or symptomatic of some other
consciousness, which could explain the voices..."

Mikage says, "OOC Heh. My GM last Saturday found out just how clever I can
be."

Anthy nods.  "A group mind, perhaps."

Travis, the Royal Librarian says, "I wonder if we could make contact with
such a mind."

Anthy says, "Possibly.  It would take a very powerful mind to do so and
survive, I suspect."

Mikage says, "Perhaps, although it would take a strong mind, or a group of
such, to prevent their minds from overwhelming ours. I had contact with
Shub-Niggurath's mind briefly. Not pleasant."

Corrine OOCly says, "Torch the fungus, let the ashes sort 'em out."
Travis, the Royal Librarian OOCly says, "Oh,  but what if they could be
turned? :)" Moriya OOCly says, "Let Shizu at 'em. Though he might want to
get Silya first, just to be safe."

Mikage asks, "Where is this fungus located?"

Corrine OOCly says, "Uh... huh."
Mikage says, "OOC 'www.thekeep.org/~trunner/lostfragments.mp3'"

Anthy says, "It's over run Talma and is moving east across Uila towards
Arden."  She frowns.  "I'm trying to think of a countermeasure."

Mikage says, "Perhaps we can make a stand at Arden. I do not wish to be
too far off from Amber when the moon rises."

Anthy nods.  "That's the problem.  We can't spare anyone to help him, but
his army is falling apart due to the fungus attacks."

You page, "I suppose this will be part of the report Corrine's gotten from
Amber/Arden?  Yaaaay." to Akemi. You page, "Did Corrine's reindorcements
help at all? *wl*" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "They helped some, but they
weren't ready for Psychic Attack Fungus" to you. You page, "Le Sigh." to
Akemi.

Mikage says, "The trouble is that we've got our own problems."

Anthy nods.  "Unfortunately.  Well, it can't reach Amber in one day, so
once the Gate closes...hopefully we can fix things."

She says, "Well, once we prevent it opening."

Mikage smiles. "Precisely."

Mikage says, "Well, let's look over the rest of this prophecy. Perhaps
Gendo left a few clues for his old friend." He smiles softly.

Mikage is oocly reading how Ranma 'asked' Travis to help him out. Ooo.

Looking over the various notes and prophecies, Gendo seemed to have been
working on some sort of attack Kudzu to counter it, then abandoned the
project when it got out of hand.  He tried walking the Pattern and
discovered the Red Death couldn't be teleported to, which likely meant it
didn't exist yet.

that would have been some eighty years ago.

His final conclusion from the prophecies was that the solution was to be
found 'On the Second Planet', whatever that meant.

Travis, the Royal Librarian taps his chin. "Hm. If it's 'terrors of the
mind,' I wonder if some form of psychic barrier might be effective against
it?"

Anthy nods.  "A good idea.  We know the strongest willed can
resist...you'd need a projectible barrier.

Mikage says, "Maybe. Or some way to tell when an attack is imminent, so
the person being attacked can prepare."

Travis, the Royal Librarian asks, "Perhaps someone with higher Trump
skills could create something that could be projected through Trump?"

She nods.  "That's a good idea too."

Mikage asks, "Could be, though Corrine is still at the Keep. Anything
referring to tonight?"

Anthy takes out another notebook and turns to the opening line. '  "All
your stairs are belong to us," the Lion roared.'

She continues, "This makes less than no sense."

Mikage exclaims, "OOC D'OH!"
Corrine OOCly says, "D'OH!"
Moriya OOCly beats John repeatedly about the head.

Mikage says, "OOC Great, now we have to deal with Cats, too."

Mikage says, "Hmm. Sounds like the individual whom we faced at the Keep."

Mikage says, "Is there anything else about Annadil we ought to know about?
I wouldn't pry if it weren't this important. You know that."

You page, "Oooo.  "Lost Fragments".  Niiice.  I can see either Corrine or
Mikage playing this, prolly with Michelle as accompaniment, unless that

Anthy says, "All my information is centuries out of date.  We can expect
him to be skillful at Magic, Shapeshifting, and Logrus.  While he seems to

She says, "I was greatly concerned for you.  You were going into grave
danger.  I could not but think of you and all who went with you."  Her
smile is warm and gentle.

Mikage nods and adds, "I thank you for your concern."

Mikage smiles wryly. "But is that all, my lady?"

about your trip, as we had no news of what had happened."

Mikage asks, "Oh. I had no idea. Would you know where he might be?"

She says, "I think he's down with Nanami and Wakaba, making items for the
battle tonight."  She smiles a bit.  "I'm glad to see him finally snapping
out of his funk.  He'd done nothing but lie around and look depressed
until recently."

Mikage asks, "Oh? What made him snap out of it?"

She says, "I don't know, really."  She looks thoughtful.  "I've seen him
talking to Utena quite a bit.  She's rather good at cheering people up. 
Ever since he found out about being your father."

Mikage asks, "Would you care to accompany me to see my father, then?"

Mikage offers an arm.

She shakes her head ruefully.  "I need to stay here and work on this.  But
I hope we can spend some time with each other once this crisis is over."

She says, "I know some good duets for piano and flute, and I have always
enjoyed playing with someone."

Mikage nods, smiling. "I hope so as well."

Mikage bows. "By your leave."

You soon find your way down to Nanami's labs.  Inside, Nanami, Wakaba, and
Gil-Galad are all busily enchanting various items in a frenzy.

Mikage says, "Greetings, your Highnesses."

Wakaba laughs, Gil-Galad smiles, and Nanami nods, continuing her work.

Gil-Galad puts down the wand and comes over.  "There you are!  How did
your expedition go, son?"

Mikage says, "Quite well. I submit this for your study." He removes his
shadow spikard and lays it down on a table.

Mikage says, "The Keep is ours."

All three home in on it like flies to honey.

Mikage says, "And this, as well." He places the Horn next to the spikard.

Nanami says, "This ring is quite a fine piece of work."

Mikage nods. "Indeed."

Gil-Galad picks up the horn.  "A man could make a fortune with this."  He
looks thoughtful.  "Father had one of these, didn't he?"  Nanami nods. 
"Tylor has it now.  He uses it to open routes to new Golden Circle
Kingdoms."

Mikage says, "And that is only my share of the spoils. There are many
others, but I've gone ahead to see to the preparations for tonight."

Wakaba says, "A Flawed Pattern Spikard.  Very nice."  She waves her hands
over it, then closes her eyes, concentrating.

Nanami says, "You could easily use this to build a quick highway to your
home shadow if you wanted to, Mikage."

Mikage nods to Nanami. "I believe we've obtained flawed Demi-Jewels for
wood and water, as well as a flawed Jewel of Judgement. Cousin Shizumaru
is in charge of dispensing the spoils."

Nanami blinks.  "An actual Wood Jewel?  For some reason, those are usually
very hard to find."

Shizumaru OOCly poiks Mik. I'm your brother, remember? :)
Mikage says, "OOC We don't know that yet. ^^;"
Shizumaru OOCly says, "I've called you brother, and mentioned that
apparently, we share the same mother. ICly, even." Corrine OOCly says, "It
keeps slipping his mind. *wl*" Mikage says, "OOC Oh, yeah. I thought you
were talking about us allegedly being descended from Annadil. ^^;" Mikage
says, "OOC My mistake." Shizumaru OOCly nods. Mikage says, "OOC Make that
Brother Shizumaru, then. ^^;" Corrine OOCly says, "Well, there's that
possiblity as well. But hey."

Mikage says, "I know. Strange what you can find when you're not looking
for anything."

Nanami laughs.  "I know."

Wakaba says, "This Bleys fellow who made this ring must have been quite
ingenious."

Mikage nods to Wakaba. "That he was." He turns to Gil-Galad. "Well,
Father, I hear you've been feeling a lot better lately."

He laughs nervously.  "The King told me to stop being a wet blanket.  So
I'm trying."

"I guess it's finally sinking in that I'm not locked in a cell getting my
daily beating any more, too."

Nanami says dryly, "I'm sure we could arrange one if it made you feel more
comfortable."  Wakaba glares at her.

He ignores her and says, "And...well, I never really expected to have a
child, but...there's something comforting in knowing..."  He stops.  "It
sounds stupid to say it.  To know that even if I die, there's someone to
carry on after me."

"I spent a lot of time being afraid I'd be forgotten.  There was a man..."
He shakes his head.  "I should have listened, but I didn't."

Mikage asks, "A man?"

You page-pose, "Aerianne starts playing the Twilight Zone theme...." to
Shizumaru and TimeRunner. TimeRunner pages, "Gah. I wonder if he remembers
me. That'd be really weird." to you and Shizumaru. You page, "That's be
theoretically technically impossible, since I'd like to think Eowyn would
have been AROUND in Amber doing stuff, but... Right.  After various
immediate crisises get taken care of (Arden, Ember, etc), 'Eowyn' gets a
grilling." to Shizumaru and TimeRunner. TimeRunner pages, "Yeah. Btw, in
Lost Fragments, it's a cello accompanying the guitar. ^^;" to you and
Shizumaru. TimeRunner pages, "Uh-oh..." to you and Shizumaru. You
page-pose, "Aerianne twitches much at John.  Evil, Evil man... and oooo. 
Perhaps, if the drum set has a synthesizer mode to it.... Mik on guitar,

He frowns.  "I can hardly remember his name.  He was one of Father's
advisors, and he tried to convince me not to go.  Not to go yet on my
quest to rescue Beleriand, that is."  He scratches his head.  "Michael. 
Sir Michael.  That was it."

Mikage asks, "Michael... Tell me, how did he try to convince you?"

"He told me I wasn't ready to lose."

Gil-Galad laughs bitterly.  "He should have broken my legs or something if
he had any inkling of what I was going to get into."

Shizumaru OOCly sleeps.
Mikage says, "OOC Ja, Droo."

Mikage touches his father's arm. "But..."

Mikage says, "I told you..."

He starts.  "No, I wasn't.  No one is ever prepared to lose."

Mikage says, "I am, father. Remember that. When I ascend the steps of
Tir-Na'nog tonight, remember that I told you; I am prepared to lose."

He says softly, "And what will you do if you lose?"

Mikage smiles. "Then I will die, remembering those I love, knowing I gave
my life to protect them."

Mikage squeezes Gil-Galad's shoulder. "A crusade is always fought for
something greater than yourself. Remember?"

Mikage says, "OOC Playing Lost Fragments. ^^;"

He starts and stares at you.  "I remember.  But how would you?"

Mikage says, "Because I told you them, in a dream..."

He scratches his head in confusion.  "I don't get it."

Mikage smiles, softly. "Grandmother was beautiful, wasn't she? Well, I
won't keep you from your work any longer, then."

He nods and smiles.  "Mother was a beautiful woman.  She was murdered
right after I left.  I keep wondering who did it, but it's three hundred
years too late to find out."  He sighs.  "Good luck, my son."

Mikage nods. "Thank you." He stands, wears his spikard again, takes the
Horn, and turns to the ladies. "Is there anything else I could help you
with?"

Nanami asks, "You do conjuration, right?"

Mikage nods.

Nanami says, "We have many items to make for the guards.  Your help would
be most useful if you have no other preparations to make."

Mikage regards Nanami, now much older than when he saw her last.

Mikage says, "None. Mother is arriving later, so I have time 'til then."

She gazes back on you, blissfully oblivious as to your memories. 
"Excellent.  Okay, here's the list..."

Juri of Avalon says, "Touga's new design is one of the few ones I really
liked, along with Saionji and Miki's.  The men look better in the movie. 
The females... less so."

Mikage says, "Yeah. I didn't like Utena's new wavy hair."

Juri of Avalon says, "Shiori's new design is pretty nice.  So is Kozue's,
from what we see of her.  Movie Utena when she's disguised as a boy is
awesome."

Mikage says, "Yeah."

Mikage exclaims, "Kozue and Miki in a bathtub... whee!"

Juri of Avalon says, "And Kanae, what we see of her, looks pretty good. 
Otherwise... I don't like the new female designs at all."

Gabrielle says, "Shioris new desing is entirely based upon TWo words, my
friends:"

Gabrielle says, "Thigh-highs."

Mikage exclaims, "Yahoo!"

Gabrielle says, "Those, and she's just so damn evil."

Juri of Avalon says, "Movie Shiori is like Satan's smaller, cuter, viler
little sister."

Mikage says, "The duels are better staged, though. I loved the part where
Miki goes 'Who's..... Touga?'"

Juri of Avalon says, "Were she the only Shiori within the Utena canon, I
would gladly join any society advocating her death, preferably by having
her flung into the sun using a very large elastic band."

Mikage says, "At any rate, the wooing of Anthy is too epic to undertake in
a mere 75-day campaign."

Corrine hehs, and then yawns, needing to head to bed.  G'night.

Corrine waves.

Gabrielle says, "I always kinda thought that if Shiori showed in WR, or in
Rake, it would be as evil moth-girl. "

Mikage says, "Night, Phil."
