"Ready to go, Nagisa?" she asks. Nagisa smiles eagerly, his eyes lit up, "Yes, please..." Dowager Queen Anthy says, "Alright. Climb up onto Silverwind's back, and I'll climb on behind you." Nagisa mounts the pegasus gingerly, as though worried he'd be thrown off almost immediately... Dowager Queen Anthy climbs up behind you; there's no saddle or reins. "Okay, let's go, Silverwind." Nagisa's eyes widen for a moment of panic, "Um... My lady? What do i hold on to? " The pegasus turns slowly, then bolts at the door and leaps skyward. His wings begin to beat, and the breeze presses against you as he rises into the night sky over the city of Amber. Amber city spreads out below you, a circular sea of pinpoints of light, ringed by darkness. The Queen seems unruffled by a lack of things to hold onto, and simply wraps her arms around your waist, holding you in place. What holds her in place, you're not sure. The constellations sparkle high above--the river, the sword, the crown, the unicorn, the serpent, the cup, the cow, and all the others. And off behind you, Tir'na-nog glitters in the light of the full moon, looking almost as real, maybe more real than Amber City and Amber Castle, which look more like pricks of light than a city or a castle. Nagisa gives a sudden yelp of adulation as they take off! He laughs wildly, happilly and for the first time since he got here, he's actually enjoying himself. Really enjoying himself. He gives a shake of his head, letting his already toussled hair be blown by the wind, savoring the sights and the feeling of the flight. The sea is a great funnel of darkness spreading east, lit only by reflected moon and starlight. You sweep out east over it, then gradually turn to face Tir'na-nog, Amber, and Arden. Lights spread southeast and northeast along the sea coast, while Arden is dark, darker than the sea. Silverwind slowly circles, rising ever higher, allowing you to see further and further. Nagisa feels awed by the scope of it. He's flown before, but usually either with his own magic, or in mechanical contrivances, nothing like this. "Its all so beautiful from up here..." he murmurs... You glimpse Rebma far to the south, where light shines up from the sea floor, and the plains of Harad to the north beyond the mountains. Far east, a lighthouse shines and does its work, and far west, there is a glimmer in Arden...perhaps the Warden's home. Dowager Queen Anthy says, "I always envied birds when I was little. I wanted to fly." Dowager Queen Anthy says, "You can't stay up in the clouds forever, but we all need to fly sometimes. And you can see so far." Nagisa smiles weakly, "I feel like I was born in the clouds... Ambre is so much like Amber... especially from this vantage... " Ever higher, Silverwind mounts. The moon has grown noticeably larger, and now you can see the 'bottom' of Tir'na-nog, not a sight you ever thought you'd see. You can see the world spread out far below. Amber City is a beacon of light, the tiny lights blurred together, and other cities dot the land as points of light. And far off to the east, you can glimpse an island covered with forest. Dowager Queen Anthy nods, her hair slipping its usual shackles and tumbling freely in the wind. "Amber and Ambre's differences flow from the choices people made, rather than the arena in which they make them." Nagisa asks, "I think you're right... the biggest one I think was King Gendo... I heard a few things while I was researching in the library... your late husband... grandfather... he was a hard man, wasn't he?" Dowager Queen Anthy says, "Gendo sacrificed everything for Amber, even things he didn't need to, sometimes." Dowager Queen Anthy sounds wistful. "But only I got to see what he was like when no one else was looking, on the rare times when he could just be Gendo, and not the King of Amber." Nagisa nods, his voice wistful, "Ambre's Gendo loved his kingdom too... but he was more easygoing about it... I think it carried over into the people..." Dowager Queen Anthy says, "Gendo believed he lived in a world of sharks, and the only way to stop them was to be the biggest shark." Dowager Queen Anthy sighs, and pushes a lock of her hair out of her face which had dropped down. You can see the hairpiece she was wearing earlier is now tumbling down towards the earth below. Nagisa reaches a hand out in its direction, "You lost your--" Silverwind climbs yet higher, and it's hard to believe how far you can see. Far to the east, you can see lands lit by the sun, distant Cathay and Lipun, and other lands. Far west, great mountains rise unbelievably high in the darkness. To the far south, another sea, and in the distant north, a great pole rises, no, not a pole...a tree. A tree the size of a mountain...no, it must be larger than any mountain. Dowager Queen Anthy says, "I can get another. There is no way to recover it." Dowager Queen Anthy smiles faintly. "I'm sure someone will find it and put it to good use." Nagisa smiles back, "We can hope so... " his eyes are still drawn to the view, so much to take in and this is the one world reflected in infinite shadow... each as complex as this... he shakes his head suddenly overwhelmed... Dowager Queen Anthy asks, "It's hard to believe it's all less than 1300 years old, isn't it?" Nagisa blinks, in surprise, "Yes... yes it is kind of hard to believe." Dowager Queen Anthy says, "I sometimes wonder what everything was like before the Pattern. But it's all a great mystery. Only Fuyutsuki knows, but he will not tell." The Moon is huge now, filling nearly a quarter of the sky. You can see pale white continents upon it, and seas of dark waters flowing, and patches of what might be strange forests across its land. The stars look larger as well, though still far away. And at the far horizons by the ground, there is a shimmering and crackling, like a permanent aurora borealis. Nagisa murmurs softly, "This is what we have to protect, isn'tit?" Dowager Queen Anthy says, "It is a thing of great beauty." Dowager Queen Anthy says, "But all too often, great beauty is fragile." Dowager Queen Anthy says, "Roses swiftly fade and pale when plucked...yet we do it anyway. " Dowager Queen Anthy shakes her head. "Have you ever passed beyond Yig, Nagisa?" Nagisa shakes his head, "No, my lady... it is... not lightly done." Dowager Queen Anthy says, "Chaos is a place of great beauty and great terror." Dowager Queen Anthy says, "Like the wind, it is ever changing." Nagisa says, "I would not know about its beauty, my lady... but its terrors..." Dowager Queen Anthy says, "Are quite unpredictable." Dowager Queen Anthy smiles a little. "Though I suspect they find us as terrifying as we find them." Nagisa says, "My lady... it almost sounds as if you've visitted there..." Dowager Queen Anthy says, "In my youth, I roamed everywhere I could go, revelling in my freedom." Dowager Queen Anthy says, "I have bandied words with the Hanged Man, and gazed down upon the Abyss that stands at the end of all things from above it." Nagisa says, "You must have travelled far indeed then..." Dowager Queen Anthy nods. "I have seen worlds be born, and seen them die, and I do not wish to ever repeat the latter." She shakes her head, and her long purple hair whips about, forcing her to stop and push it out of her eyes. Dowager Queen Anthy says, "And now I am older, and my journeys are shorter, for my duties keep me from wandering far. Enjoy your youth while you can, Nagisa." Nagisa glances over his shoulder at you and murmurs, "You've probably seen so much pain... and yet you can take comfort in something so simple as your roses... I hope that when the time comes I can be as serene as you, my lady." Shizumaru has connected. Shizumaru OOCly toddles in, stuffed with raw salmon. Dowager Queen Anthy says, "Serenity is often a mask for blind panic, but yes, I have found some peace in Amber. I have no regrets." Dowager Queen Anthy says, "And I greatly recommend gardening to anyone who feels the need to soothe their soul." Dowager Queen Anthy says, "OOC That sounds kinda unhealthy to me, Drew. :)" Shizumaru OOCly says, "You just don't appreciate good sashimi. u.u" Dowager Queen Anthy says, "For the King, Amber is his garden, but it often brings him no peace, I fear." Dowager Queen Anthy nods. "It is indeed a great work." She pats Silverwind's head. "Show Nagisa how fast you can go." She smiles brightly, and then the wind kicks up to high speed, as you race eastwards, chasing the far distant sun. Nagisa feels the wind whip through his hair and he laughs once more... reveling in the flight... Nagisa OOCly really needs to get some sleep... its 10 am... O.o Shizumaru OOCly says, "...don't tell me you stayed up all the way through till now." Dowager Queen Anthy says, "OOC No problem. We'll wrap it up here." Autolyca ooc BRB You fly swiftly, ever eastward, across the land like a comet, passing the sun, the sea, the mountains, in an ever faster blur, until finally, you come zooming back down to the stable, and then, Silverwind lands lightly, as if he had not been faster than anything you'd ever seen. Dowager Queen Anthy hops off his back. Nagisa hops off, a little shaken but exhilerated by the ride. Dowager Queen Anthy says, "Goodnight, Prince Nagisa. Until we meet again." And Cut.
