Ember A shadow formerly containing a broken fire pattern. This changed once Ishmael showed up and repaired it with the Fire Jewel. It's now the site of the Fire Pattern, and in direct competition with the old one at Rebme. Currently, Ember is inhabited by 2 Million crack Telmar troops, a squad of Fire Angels, a Hendrake force, several of Ish's enforcers, and numerous Amberites. Genetic Facility A large, high-tech laboratory/production center out in shadow, frequently used by the Heroic Trio. Used by them to clore basilisk blood, run a DNA analysis of King John, and, most recently, close Rianna's blood. Rose's Basket An embroidery basket, used to keep embroidery materials in. It also has the property of molding the shape of items placed within it, so that a bottle of Coke dipped in it can emerge as a .45 Magnum. Logrus Jewel A very close replica of the Jewel of Judgement, the Logrus Jewel resided in the royal vaults of Amber for some years. It's suspected that Osric had it at some point, and switched it for the Earth Jewel. The jewel is actually the eye of a shapeshifted being of power. Those who master the being in mental combat can command it, manipulating the Logrus by that means. King Random, ignorant of the true properties of the jewel, lent it to Ishmael. Whether or not it will ever be returned is anyone's guess. Telmar A shadow of Ishmael's, heavily guarded and warded, from which he masses forces as needed. Tir Na Nog Fire Jewel A close replica of the Fire Jewel, mounted on a short, handle-like stick with a button in the haft. When pressed, the jewel focuses the mental energy of the user into a laserlike energy blast. Ishmael took the jewel from a doppelganger of himself while in Tir Na Nog. He bore it with him while repairing the Ember Pattern, and charged it with Pattern energy from the repaired pattern. During the confrontation in the Rebme pattern chamber, Ishmael discharged all the stored energy into Finndo in one massive blast. The strain was too much for the jewel, and it shattered, destroyed. Palantirs White, pulsing orbs. There are nine Palantirs, eight linking to one master one. They were supposedly created by Finden, but information from Sand suggests that they're only a recreation of a previous set. The master Palantir contains, captive, one of the great entities of the universe - the Phoenix. By placing a hand on it or one of the lesser spheres, the wielder can call upon a vast reserve of psyche energy. The Palantirs can also be used to power spells, store trump images, and manipulate shadow. Before a person can use a Palantir, he must attume himself to it. Only someone who is already attuned can provide this; Ishmael got around it by creating a glove which faked the already attuned Findy's psyche signature. Only one of the Palantirs has thus far been seen. Findy used one, which was taken from her by the Heroic Trio and used by Ishmael. After accidentally taking on Fiona in a shadow altering contest and winning with the Palantir's aid, Ishmael got uneasy and took it to Suhuy to study. During Suhuy's examination, its connection to the Master Palantir was severed; Suhuy planned to hook it up to the Logrus, instead. It currently resides with him. Elemental Jewels of Judgement The four first shadows of the Jewel of Judgement, each native to one of the four first shadows of the Primal Pattern, and to one of the four elements. While not quite the artifact that the real JoJ is, they still possess immence power. Currently sought by numerous people, including Ishmael and Osric. Fire Jewel of Judgement The Jewel native to Rebme, the former fire reflection of the Primal Pattern. It apparently lay in the Pattern chamber of Rebme until Rianna and Ishmael fought their way in to steal it. Ishmael attuned himself to it, accidentally destroying most of a shadow in the process and nearly killing Rianna and Rose. After studying it and mastering some of its powers, he incorporated it into a laser as the refraction crystal, creating a highly potent weapon. After a talk with Dworkin revealed that he would have to walk a Fire Pattern with it to gain its full power, Ishmael used it to walk and repair the Ember Fire Pattern. It was promptly stolen by Osric, who attempted to use it along with the Earth Jewel to repair, or otherwise enhance, the Rebme Pattern. This attempt was interrupted by Rose and Ishmael, who recovered the Earth Jewel. The current location of the Fire Jewel is unknown, although it's thought to be somewhere around Rebme. Water Jewel of Judgement The Jewel native to Rebma. Under heavy guard in the Rebman palace at the moment. Air Jewel of Judgement The Jewel native to Tir Na Nog. Although the nature of that place makes its location somewhat subjective, it was last seen in a high room with four mirrors and four thrones, mounted on a pedestal formed by the throne backs. Sand is the guardian and apparently the user of it; she foiled Ishmael's attempt to acquire it, and is likely to do the same for any others attempting to gain it. It is unsure if the jewel has powers for spying and survelliance, or if this is just Sand's unique powers. Earth Jewel of Judgement The Jewel native to Amber. It was thought by Dworkin to have been in the royal vaults, but instead was first seen in the possession of Osric. Rose and Ishmael successfully obtained it from him, and it is currently with Ish at the Ember Pattern. It is uncertain when the Earth Jewel was removed from the vaults and replaced with the Logrus Jewel. Ishmael has theorized that it was at one time part of the Crown of Storms in Therin, and was one reason why Osric recruited John. Ishmael has vague plans for the jewel, including incorporating it into the focusing crystal of a graviton beam. Crown of Storms An artifact in Therin, said to be capable of controlling the weather. Cloud-shaped, and studded with gems. Last seen in the possession of King John, and possibly once incorporated the Earth Jewel as part of it. Ishmael's Ring A multipurpose artifact, capable of scanning shadow, harnessing energies, warping magical fields, altering timeflow, and other things as of yet unrevealed. Brass, with numerous tiny wheels, dials, and knobs on it. Cutter and Dicer Ishmael's destructive-damage swords - among other things. Ishmael has used them in the forms of shield, sword, spear, hacksaw, axe, rocket launcher, and, most often, crossbow. Dicer is usually kept in ring form on Ishmael's left thumb as a spare.
