The Session All Hell Broke Loose

	Lots of people woke up in funky places.

	Rianna awoke to find herself in a room of some sort in 
Chaos, in which the Pattern had been used to block it against 
trump. She set about trying to shift shadow out.

	Rose woke up in a swamp, which the sound of hunting 
horns in the distance. Trumps didn't work.

	And Ishmael woke up at the center of the newly-restored 
Fire Pattern, the Fire Jewel missing.

	In a state of mild panic, he tried to use his link to the 
Jewel to look for it. It was somewhere close in shadow, he 
sensed, but also close to another Pattern.

	He spoke to his new Pattern, which responded. It showed 
him what had happened after he finished repairing the Pattern 
- Dworkin was hit over the head by Osric and stuffed in a bag, 
whereupon Osric carefully walked the Pattern and took the Fire 
Jewel from Ishmael. Hastily making a series of trump calls, 
Ish pulled Morrigan through along with several of his enhanced 
enforcers, and set them to guard the new Pattern. Trumping 
Tybalt, he learned that Sawallways was being cut off from 
trump contact, and that some sort of attack was going on 
inside. Suhuy was uncontactable, and Tybalt revealed that the 
Logrus had been sealed off by Suhuy as a precaution. Ishmael 
began to form a plan, and placed the Tir Na Nog edition of the 
Fire Jewel to the surface of the Pattern, charging it with 
Pattern energy...

	Rose, meanwhile, steathily listened as several deformed 
riders approached, members of House Fomori. She learned that 
they were going to hunt her down and kill her, supposedly for 
the death of the Fomori Duke's son.

	Not approving of this concept, she shapeshifted into the 
form of Durk of House Hendrake. Confronting the riders, she 
managed to convince them that 'he' had jsut gotten lost and 
stumbled in to their hunting preserve. After several days of 
searching, the Fomori gave up, and 'Durk' and they rode back to 
the Fomori hunting lodge.

	Trump worked there, and Rose trumped Ishmael.

	Ishmael, who was in a mild frenzy, instructed Rose to 
turn into a feathered serpent. She did, and he brought her 
through. He instructed the Pattern to send them to the pattern 
chamber in the destroyed fire realm of Rebme, where Osric had 
been sensed repairing the Pattern there.

	The two appeared. Osric was walking the Pattern, eyes 
fixed in concentration, using both the Earth and Fire Jewels to 
repair the damage. A tall man who Ish and Rose recognized as 
Finndo stood watching.

	Ishmael pretended to be a messager from John for a few 
seconds as he used his mastery of the Fire Jewel to cause it to 
explode in a semilnuclear fireball. The Rembe Pattern erupted 
as the ball engulfed Osric. Finndo, startled, turned; in that 
instant, Ishmael pulled the Tir Na Nog edition out and blasted 
Finndo with all of the stored Pattern energy. The jewel burst, 
and Finndo was blasted into a wall, dazing him, melting most 
of his front armor, and breaking his right arm. He also 
automaticaly shifted into a fire form to minimize the damage 
form the blast.

	While this happened, Rose flew over the blazing pattern. 
There was no sign of Osric or the Fire Jewel, but the Earth 
Jewel lay on the ground between two of the lines. She began to 
try to swoop down to get it.

	Ishmael began blasting at the dazed Finndo with his twin 
crossbows, cutting off an ear with one bolt. He attempted to 
use his trumpgun as well, only to discover that trumps out 
were being blocked. A very angry Finndo got to his feet and 
began advancing, deflecting bolts with his sword. Ishmael 
frantically backpedaled.

	Rose swooped down, grabbing the Earth Jewel, and flew 
off the Pattern. Ishmael, backed up against a wall, was 
frantically conjuring something; she suspected he would be too 
late. Wincing, Rose grabbed Finndo with Logrus tentacles, and 
began to throw him across the room. A blast of energy from the 
Rebme pattern halted her in mid-throw, blasting her into a 
wall.

	Ishmael finished his conjuration. As the irate, 
fireformed Finndo charged, Ishmael blasted him with a wave of 
fire-extinguisher material. Screaming in agony, Finndo 
stumbled back, reverting to a very mangled human form as he 
did. Ish's crossbows went to work again, cutting off his other 
ear and giving him a shoulder wound. Finndo, enraged and in 
pain, charged. And the swirling form of Osric began to 
materialize in the center of the pattern...

	Rose dizzily got to her non-feet (still being a feathered 
serpent) and attacked Finndo from behind, biting his neck and 
raking at his eyes with forearm talons. As Finndo grabbed Rose 
and smashed her into the ground, Ish aimed carefully and shot a 
crossbow bolt through Finndo's left eye. 

	Finndo fell, screaming, and abruptly vanished. Osric, now 
fully reformed, spat curses at the two and began to invoke 
something. Ishmael blasted at him with both crossbows, but 
flame leaped up to intercept the bolts. Osric leaned back his 
head and laughed maniacally - just in time to get hit by the 
anvil Ish had conjured over him. He dissolved again, and began 
to reform...

	The doorway out of the Pattern room seemed to be 
blocked by some sort of glowing ward. Holding the Earth Jewel 
in from of them, Ish and Rose dashed through it, bracing 
themselves. They appeared over a volcano, and barely managed 
to trump through to Morrigan at Ishmael's Pattern before being 
baked.

	Meanwhile, Rianna had managed to make her way far 
enough out of the room to trump to her father, Mandor. Mandor 
and Despil were fighting for their lives in Sawallways; golden 
statues were running amok, besieging the entire place and 
trying to cut off the routes to the Logrus. Rianna joined in the 
defense, and the Sawall Group waited for the arrival of 
reenforcements. Rianna notified Random of the situation, and 
he dispatched Fiona and Flora to go to the assistance of Sawall 
with troops. 

	Rianna attempted to contact Corwin with Mandor's help. 
They barely got through, and Corwin weakly said that he was 
being held prisoner. They attempted to pull him through, when 
a female voice at Corwin's end attempted to pull _them_ 
through instead. The woman shrugged off Rianna's neural 
disrupt, and to a lesser extent Mandor's death bolt, and so 
Mandor trump-disrupted the connection, noting that they had 
troubles of their own at the moment.

	Amber troops arrived via trump, and Jurt suddenly 
appeared, blinking in and out and tossing bolts of energy into 
the statues while laughing maniacally. The cavalry, such as it 
was, had arrived.

	Rianna trumped Ishmael, who pulled her through.

	Back at the new Pattern, it had informed Ishmael that 
something with Logrus had probed it, and was likely coming. 
Ish got in contact with Random, Tybalt, and Flora and learned 
the following:

	A major sea battle was in progress, as the Shalomar 
Pirates were engaging Amber's fleet. Gerard, Caine, and Albert 
were leading the fight, and were expected to win.

	Julian reported something encroaching on Arden, and was 
dealing with it.

	A flaming bird had landed in Amber, bearing the message, 
"You killed my son, now you're all going to die." Bleys had 
turned pale on seeing it, but professed ignorance of its 
meaning.

	Tybalt was leading an army to the defense of 
Sawallways. Part of it had to turn back as news came from Koa 
that Hendrake was under attack as well by the statue-things.

	Flora had been leading an army of carnivorous trees down 
a black road towards Chaos, but sent them on ahead as she 
came the Ish's Pattern to help. Fiona also arrived, and began 
seeing to the defence of the place.

	Wondering if the message had been from House Fomori, 
Ish trumped their leader, Duke Balor. He said they had not sent 
it, but still wanted Rose dead.

	Ishmael brought an army of two million fire-
enviornment-equipped troops through from Telmar. Fiona 
proceeded to set several Fire Angels loose on the upper levels 
of the castle as guards. She also revealed that the original Fire 
Pattern in Rebme had ben destroyed at the height of the 
Amber-Rebme War by a creature Oberon had built out of an 
entire shadow, and infused with a desire to devour fire 
patterns. The creature had decended upon Rebme and laid it 
waste, while Finndo and Osric were still in it. Oberon then got 
rid of the creature somehow, but Fiona suspected it was still 
about.

	Roderick and Katsura arrived to help with the situation.

	The group, led by Fiona, attempted to trump Dworkin. 
They got through, and found him trapped inside the Master 
Palantir, with the Phoenix holding him in its beak. It seemed 
prepared to attack, when Ishmael stepped forward and asked 
what it's quarrel was. It showed a picture of the past; 
Dworkin, riding the Unicorn, had snuck up behind it and bashed 
it over the head. It woke up, eventually, imprisoned.

	Ishmael played his mind over his memory of Suhuy telling 
him that Finden had imprisoned the Phoenix, and his own 
memory of saying the Phoenix should be freed, and invited the 
beast to check. It did, and Ish made it a bargain - free Dworkin 
to them in exchange for Dworkin's promise to try and release 
it. The bargain was made, and they pulled Dworkin through just 
as someone outside approached the Palantir.

	With Dworkin, they then forced a trump contact through 
to Benedict, who was lying chained in some sort of chaotic 
maze. Ish jumped through, grabbed him, and pulled him back 
through the trump.

	Benedict came around, and related that he had been 
overwhelmed by Lorelei, one of the elder Amberites who had 
left long ago. She had always been a rival of his 'best warrior 
in the family' title, and had jumped him with a small army. 
After killing most of the army, he was overwhelmed.

	They informed him of the situation with Finndo and Osric. 
He said that they were probably seeking revenge for being 
tossed away by trying to wipe out the family.

	Rianna mentioned the woman holding Corwin, who Fiona 
identified as her mother, Clarissa. Asked why she would be 
holding him, Fiona guessed that she held him responsible for 
the death of her other son, Brand. Ishmael put two and two 
together, and surmised that the note was from her.

	Ishmael's Pattern informed him that the Rebme Pattern 
was blocking its attempts to find the Fire Jewel. Determined 
to track it down, and having determined that the Rebme 
Pattern was somehow vital to Osric's plans (indeed, Dworkin 
suspected that Osric was now somehow part of the Rebme 
Pattern, Ish took some blood from Rianna, sent her to the 
shadow genetic facility to clone several pressurized vats of it, 
and fasttimed it. Bringing back several backpack-vats with 
hoses, he announced the plan - to storm Rebme and hose down 
the pattern there.

Arthur: Okay, um, I'm going to trump Ishmael and Rose...
Mike and Kelly: (screaming) BUSY! BUSY SIGNAL!

"Okay, um, maybe I should help out."
"Yes! Good! Hurry! Oh, damn, they cut my foot off!"
"Your Uncle Despil's having a bad day. Now, if you could get us 
those reenforcements..."

the golden warriors

"DIE! WAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
"Jurt's not usually that powerful, is he."
"I never thought I'd actually ever be _glad_ to see him..."

"The Fire Jewel is currently in the possession of a vile, evil 
psychopath intent on destroying Amber to further his own 
twisted ends."
"I'm confused. I though you said you didn't have it anymore?"

"Okay. We're going to recover the Fire Jewel. It's being held by 
Osric, the oldest living prince of Amber, and a master of sword 
and spell. He's got it at his Pattern. We're gonna teleport in and 
grab it."
"You're fucking insane."
"Don't worry, I have a cunning plan."
"You always say that!"

"So, you think to face me, puny scion of Chaos?"
"HA! You don't frighten me, you pansy! Really! Oh, shit..."

defend the place."
