Beowulf arrives in the middle of Kanna having been invegeled into playing Virtual Whack=An-Outsider with the King :) Kanna seems to be going at it with rather more-than-normal-intensity. "Take THAT! And THAT! AND THAT AND THAT AND THAT!!!" Beowulf grins, then schools his face into a utterly serious mask. He bows deeply and formally. "Your Majesty." Kanna hammers at the air with a mallet. "THAT'S for lurking around Rebma! And THAT'S for trying to stomp mom! And THAT'S for the HELLUVIT!" Tylor shouts, "It's Nylarathotep!" He wildly hammers about the vicinity of Beowulf, missing repeatedly. Beowulf blinks and starts dodging. Kanna says, "DIE! Die die die die!" She joins in the hammering. "Go back to doing the moonwalk!" Bannana peels appear for no good reason under Kanna and Tylor's feet Tylor promptly steps, slips, falls down, and hammers his own helmet, then quietly lies there and vibrates. Beowulf blinks and quickly picks up the King, gently pulling off the helmet. Kanna moves, and then goes UWAAAA as she steps on a banana peel. She falls backwards, catching herself on her hands, letting go of the mallet in the process. Kanna sits up and removes her helmet. "Jeeeezus, who..." She looks up... "-Bey-?" Beowulf says, "Hmmm?" He looks innocent. Tylor says, "I think we lost, Kanna." Kanna looks down at the banana peel. Then up at Bey. "Game called on account of banan peels, more likely." Beowulf asks, "Are you all right, Uncle Tylor?" Kanna picks up the peels, and smiles at Bey. "I'll be nice, and not challenge you with a banana peel across the face, Bey." She goes, and tosses them in the trash. He staggers to his feet. "I've been better." Kanna then goes and picks up the VWAO equipment, putting them in their usual spot. Kanna purses her lips. "Your side troubling you 'gain?" Tylor says, "A little." He sits down on the couch and relaxes. "What brings you here, Beowulf?" Beowulf supports him over to the nearest chair. Beowulf says, "Um, well. Had a rather interesting outing over the last two hours and several days." Beowulf looks over at Kanna. "You tell him about the little incident on the dirigible, Kanna?" Kanna sighs. "I swear, that thing's too chronic to be normal, Uncle Tylor..." she hrms. "Oh, good point, that reminds me. How -did- your date with Lily go, Bey?" She grins. "I see you're no longer tanned..." Kanna ehehs, and scratches her cheek. "Not yet. We were giving a good intro to Lucien, and it kinda got shuffled." Beowulf shrugs. "Well, it's what happens when you have to regrow the outer layer of skin." Tylor says, "Oh, late at night is not the best of times to introduce people to the family." He shrugs. Kanna says, "Lucien, you see, is Derith's Son. Ambassador Arimi found him out in shadow and brought him to Amber." Beowulf looks slightly surprised. "Mitsune mentioned something about him. He made it in here all right, then?" You page, "I figure as far as Kanna meant 'intro', show him the trumps of the family and give names, really. and a little bit of kanna opin. *wl* Before the dinner part." to Akemi. In a page-pose to you, Akemi nods. Beowulf smiles at Kanna and Tylor. "I expect you did him proud anyway." Kanna says, "Hale and hearty, apparently. Pretty decent guy. Raised by Merlin Ambrosius and trained under Lancelot Du Lac. And cute." She coughs, blushes a bit through her tan, but grins. Beowulf says, "Cuter than me?" He mock-pouts. Tylor says, "He will be walking the Pattern tomorrow, I believe." Beowulf nods. "Who's going to shepherd him through?" Kanna says, "Well, I -could- draw a sketch of him if you wanted... I don't have mom's mad art skilzz, but..." she grins, reaches over, and ruffles Bey's hair. "I'd say you've both got equivelent but different levels of Cute." Tylor says, "I will be going down to observe and assist him. I suspect Miki and Kozue will be there as well." Beowulf says, "So I found out, I think." He blushes slightly. Beowulf says, "Good. A good group of people to help." Kanna nods. "Depending on things, was thinking of watching as well. To help guard, etc. And having his closest blood-relatives should help too." Beowulf asks, "What time was he planning on it?" Kanna looks at Tylor. "after breakfast, I think he was thinking?" Beowulf says, "I'm not usually a morning person, but I'd like to meet him. I may try to make it." Beowulf says, "Assuming I can get my time re-synched with Amber. It's not long after breakfast for me at the moment." He looks slightly boggled. Kanna asks, "Oh man. How -did- things go with you, Bey?" Tylor smiles. "A common problem of jumping in and out of Amber and playing with time frames." Kanna raises her eyebrows, curiously, relaxing in her own chair. Beowulf says, "Indeed." He grins at Tylor. "And, well... they went rather oddly. As you can tell." He gestures at his skin. Kanna nods. Beowulf looks over at Tylor. "Just a brief catch-up... Lily had asked my help on a prophecy involving Lord Percy, and we'd gone to Talislanta to check it out, as it possibly played a role." Tylor nods. Beowulf says, "Then... let's see. My bag and Lily's trumps were stolen by a street urchin, who accidentally trumped himself to Bizarro World." Kanna says, "Whupsie." Beowulf says, "Lily and I teleported to a very fast-time shadow I know so she'd have time to re-rack her spells, then we jumped to it in Bizzaro World. I'd managed to talk the Bizzaro Cops into giving back our stuff and letting us take the boy back, when the Master showed up and materialized around my bag." Kanna facepalms. Beowulf says, "So, I fought and beat a few Cybermen, Daleks, and Yeti, beat down the Master and got the bag back, and Lily was able to scan his mind on his plans." He pauses and gets a very serious look on his face. Kanna's comment about how Bey could turn even a walk to the corner store for milk into an Adventure(tm) dies on her lips as she catches his look. Beowulf says, "It looks like the map Mitsune put together from the runes on the vases is the map to a Spikard, Kanna. The Master had found out about it from some Chaosian books of lore, and attacked me to steal the vases." Kanna says, "... oh shit." Kanna's blue eyes widen slightly. Beowulf nods. "I think we've got a brief window of opportunity, here, since those egyptian cultists stole one of the three vases before I could sell them to Lord Khan. At the moment, I believe I'm the only one who has a copy of the map, and the Master'd have to rob *two* people to get his hands on it." Beowulf blinks and shakes his head. "Never thought I'd end up being grateful to those cultists." Kanna says, "This now begs the question on why -Lord Khan- wanted them too... *pause* Okay, no, Kanna be stupid, -he'd- want the spikard -too-, but for what -purpose-..." Beowulf says, "Well, he *might* have known about the map... then again, he might not have. If we get a spare moment, we may want to check into it." Kanna nods. "Sadly, Spare Moments, I suspect, are going to start becoming very -rare-." She frowns. Beowulf says, "Indeed." He looks at Tylor. "In any case, Uncle... this looks like it could be serious. Spikards are too troublesome an item to leave lying around, especially with nasty people looking for it." Tylor nods. "I think investigating this would be a good idea." Beowulf OOCly blinks? o.o Lily says, "OOC DOH. Color me brain dead" Nuclear Powered Jacqueline OOCLY ? TYLOR says that. Sigh. Kanna OOCly snrks. Beowulf asks, "In any case... may I have your support on this, Uncle?" Tylor nods. "Yes. I think recovering it would be a good idea." Kanna says, "I think that was a 'yes', Bey, but... see?" *smile* Beowulf nods. "Good. Looking ahead... if we manage to recover it, who do you think I should give it to when we get back? Anthy already has one... hm. Do you know if she will be available tomorrow morning?" Tylor says, "I believe she should be." Kanna says, "Well, it should be checked over nine ways to sunday anyway, but.." she nods. Tylor says, "As for who should have it, I think it would be wise to pass it to Nanami, as I know she's studied the lore of the spikards." Beowulf nods. "Anthy probably has some of the most experience with spikards of anyone here; hopefully she can translate some of the remaining Sidar runes from the vases, as well. If not, I'm planning a trip to Panopticon to talk with a person I know there." Beowulf says, "And yes, Nanami would be a good person to have custody of it." Beowulf says, "I'm going to talk to her sometime soon about an obelisk we recovered from the cultists, and I can talk to her about it then." Beowulf says, "After Panopticon, though, I was planning a quick trip to CAFAM to pick up a few things I might want for the temple visit." He seems to relax a bit, and smiles for the first time in a few minutes. "Anything I can pick up for you there, Uncle?" Kanna quirks a slight smile, still sitting in her chair, quietly thoughtful. Tylor says, "I could use a new fishing rod. I broke my old one." Beowulf nods. Fishing rod, right. "Carbon-fiber, or traditional bamboo?" He grins. Tylor says, "Bamboo so it will work anywhere." Beowulf nods. "Right. Someday, I need to get your list of classic fishing holes." He grins again. Kanna chuckles softly, and hrms. Beowulf looks over at Tylor to see if he's feeling better. Tylor looks better now. Tylor asks, "I suppose you'll be leaving some time tomorrow then?" Beowulf says, "Yes. Probably see when I can visit Anthy, then head off to Panopticon right after that if she can't translate the runes." He pauses in thought for a moment. Beowulf says, "I might see if Keitaro and Naru can make it as well; they're trying to get in Panopticon, so they might appreciate having a look at the place." Kanna says, "A quick trip for the two of 'em? It'll have to be quick, tho, if you're planning to go after that spikard ASAP." Kanna shrugs. "depends on how much you want to ride herd on 'em." She grins. Beowulf grins back. "Well, Naru and Keitaro aren't the ones I'd be worried about." He sighs, and gives her a rueful grin. "It's looking like the only way to keep Mitsune from coming along is to lock her up in a slow-time shadow." Kanna says, "That's true." She chuckles. Tylor says, "Sometimes you just have to ride the lightning." Tylor smiles. Beowulf says, "Oh, indeed." He smiles. "Although after the last few subjective days, it won't be anything new. I *hate* being burned." Kanna acks. "Well, at least you apparently got over it." Beowulf says, "Yes. Being dumped in the shadow of infinite hellfire hurts for a bit, but Lily was able to heal me." Beowulf looks over at Kanna. "Have you heard from Lian yet?" Kanna winces. "Damn. Those aren't pleasant without protection and experience..." She idly taps her crossed-hammer badge. She then looks at Bey. "Not yet. Was thinking of checking down with her mom if she was in, and if not, trumping her, after I finished that last round of VWAO." Beowulf says, "Heh. Well, would you like a third person for that final round?" Tylor says, "I've only got two helmets up here, but I'll be happy to let you play in my stead, Beowulf. Beowulf says, "Well, maybe we can give you a good enough show to make up for not playing." He grins. Kanna chuckles a bit, and gets up. "Eh, might as well give it one last go before heading out, Uncle Tylor." She grins at Bey. "Besides, gotta live up to my namsake, eh?" Beowulf says, "Why not?"
