and the two background packages I'm buying for sure before I finalize

he HAS bought gets him before he buys MORE stuff."

Crazed Auctioneer Man says, "If you buy background packages, you have
to absolutely commit to them and you can't buy more packages after you
state which ones you want."

then decide you want Foreign Service to go along with it. You need to
buy them both at the same time."

appreciate.  But that's just my feeling." to Mercutio.

Gabrielle says, "I've talked to a couple guys who sometimes never
decide what's in the box until after it's bought."

Gabrielle says, "So they can better tailor it to the PC who buys it."

no Sorcery, and a Logrusfoil equaly useless to the Psy twink."

Lucien says, "Well, I always thought it suspicious that Derith got the
WATER jewel in the box, considering that John knew from the start that
I was going pro-Rebma all the way :)"

Motoko says, "Since part of the point is that it's a _mystery_?  :)"

practice after a series of TW's in which the PC who bought the box,
usually for an exhorbitant price, was always complaining about how
useless it was."

Gabrielle says, "So now he either tailors it, or putssomething
generically usefull into it."

Motoko shrugs.  "Part of the risk of bidding on a mystery item."

Moriya waves Skippy around. :)

Gabrielle says, "Well, Rob (who runs the D&D3E campaign I'm to busy to
play in) usually prefers his PC's to be happy if it doesn't really
matter."

You page, "Arrrgh, decisions decisions... to implement the 16 pt
weapon NOW, or to buy something more normal and to save it for later
with tradein... *wg*" to Akemi.

Motoko shrugs.  "His PCs need to adjust their attitude if they
complain their mystery item isn't always useful."

Gabrielle says, "One or two players have tried to exploit this. They
usually get eaten by bears, or something equally stupid and
embarrasing."

Crazed Auctioneer Man returns.

Finn says, "It's not a bad idea.  I did it in the playtest I'm
running.  3 boxes, distributed appropriately to the players who best
suited the items."

You page, "-especially- with the Gaby Manifestation in there.  But, on
the flip side, Kanna rememebrs the tales mom told of Other Aunt Juri's
frustration with the inability to access her construct in other
universes...." to Akemi.

You page, "Kanna ain't a wargod, but good unicorn, does she have the

Kanna sighs.  It's late, and he can't decide quite yet.  Get back to

Gabrielle says, "Right, Dan. Like I said, if soebody drops fifty
points on a mystery item whose description says it will be 'good and
useful,' or words to that effect, they shouldn't end up with something
their character can't really use."
