You page, "Beowulf keeps an eye around as they travel, seeing if he can gather more information on the serpents' behavior, and pick up some idea where they're going. Would the SPS on the scanning device help with this?" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "As you study, you realize you're starting to go in a circle." to you. Windir> Morgan looks at the spear, and then the deck and gets up, bowing. "I think I need to be alone for a while." Windir> Lord Odin nods. "Call for someone, and I will supply you with a horse or a boat, and directions to where you wish to go." Windir> Morgan says, "Thank you." You page, "Broad circle, as if moving around some large shadow? Or small circle, as in some position in this shadow?" to Akemi. Windir> They leave you. Windir> Morgan fans through the trump deck. Akemi pages, "As if you were circling through shadow around some central shadow." to you. Windir> It's an abbreviated Standard Amber deck. It just has the Royal Family, and that's it. You page, "Hm. The shadow positions tell me anything about where we might be circling?" to Akemi. Windir> Morgan OOCLY says, "With Mommy?" Windir> John says, "OOC YEs." You page, "And are we still hovering over the bottomless mists?" to Akemi. Windir> Morgan picks out Hiko's trump and tests it. Akemi pages, "YEs. You're starting to wonder if maybe Juri is in a shadow barred to Bessie's powers." to you. You page, "Ah, right." to Akemi. You page, "Beowulf turns to Bessie. "How are you moving through shadow towards Juri? It's starting to look like it's someplace you can't get on your own." to Akemi. Akemi pages, "Bessie says, "Umm...I just sort of think about where I need to go, and I go."" to you. Windir> Hiko does not answer. Windir> Morgan sighs, and then takes out King Tylor's. You page, "Hmmm. Does that match up with any way of shadow travel that I know of, or any of the others? Or Aeris?" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "It's pretty similar to travelling to a Shadow of Desire." to you. You page, "Did it feel like it was shifting shadow using Pattern, then?" to Akemi. "A run-in with a Serpent, some trees, and Lord Alars." Windir> Beowulf blinks. "Lord Alars? You, too? What happened?" Windir> Morgan says, "He trumped me, and it was a case of 'The Lady and the Tiger' or more accurately, the 'fire or the frying pan' and I ended up killing the Tiger." Windir> Beowulf says, "So, he's dead?" He buries his face in his hand. "Damn, I wish it hadn't had to end that way..." Windir> Morgan gets a bit testy. "He had Justice... I swore to myself that Justice would be returned to Jacqueline." Windir> Beowulf looks back up, looking ten years older. "I know, I know, and I was thinking of ways to do it myself... but ways that wouldn't set half of Chaos on our heads. Especially with Shizumaru in prison there." Windir> Beowulf says, "And I do feel sorry for his daughter. She's a sweet young girl, who didn't know anything about the power politics going on; all she knew was that half her family died." Windir> Morgan laughs deprecatingly. "You know the funnest part? House Alars has the Sword of Air now, too." Windir> Beowulf says, "The Sword of... oh, dear." He sighs. "At this rate, they'll have the complete set." Windir> Morgan says, "I am a fool, Beowulf." Windir> Beowulf smiles ruefully. "Aren't we all?" He sighs. "Well, past is past; it's probably time to start thinking of how we can try and fix things." Windir> Morgan says, "I would appreciate some input and advice..." Windir> Morgan asks, "Where are you, Beowulf?" Windir> Beowulf asks, "I'm in the middle of a fairly tricky shadowwalk, somewhere about halfway between Amber and Chaos. Where are you at the moment?" Windir> Morgan says, "I'm in Chaos, with House Aesir." Windir> Morgan says, "I think I'll wait 'til you're finished before contacting you again." Windir> Beowulf blinks. "Right. Aesir's pretty friendly, from what I've heard; I'd try to stay there while you're in Chaos, since a lot of folks are already pretty stirred up about Shizumaru's trial." Windir> Morgan asks, "Approximately when do you think you'll be done?" Windir> Morgan OOCly says in a rather Patinkin-like accent, "You do not think you could speed it up...?" Windir> Beowulf says, "Gainax is also friendly, but with Moriya and Motoko operating out of there, it could be pretty well known as a place where Amberites hang out; you might want to be careful about being seen there, unless... well, that's not a bad disguise." Windir> Morgan holds up his silver arm. "This might help, too... or it could hinder." Windir> Beowulf says, "Um, I'd *like* to, believe me, but it involves unravelling a puzzle... and I'm not sure how long it's going to take to figure out." He looks around carefully. "And since we're in the middle of a shadow with thousands of nasties waiting to overwhelm us if our disguise slips up, I'm trying to be careful." Windir> Morgan says, "Well, good luck then, and may the Gods be with you." Windir> Beowulf says, "Yes, that might help." He smiles ruefully again. "Anyway... you might try talking to Moriya or Motoko; since you're down in the Courts, you probably won't be able to reach anyone in Amber." Windir> Morgan asks, "Thanks for that... anyone else I know in the Courts?" Windir> Beowulf says, "Moriya and Motoko are the main ones I know of... quite by accident, in the destruction of a rather nasty Construct, Motoko got the status of a Chaosian religious figure." Windir> Morgan says, "Oh... my...." Windir> Beowulf says, "Some of the others might be far enough out in Shadow for you to contact them, though, so it wouldn't hurt to keep trying." Windir> Morgan says, "Thank you, Uncle." Windir> Morgan says, "Maybe I should contact Motoko then, and she might be able to intercede for me." Windir> Beowulf nods. "Thank you. Take care, niece, and good luck trying to fix things." He shakes his head. "I've been there before, and it's not fun; best wishes to you." Windir> Morgan closes the Trump and tries Motoko's. You page, "Well... o.o Situation stable for the moment? There are probably a few people I should let know... Who can I think of, first on the list? Miki, as the diplomat?" to Akemi. Windir> You try to trump Motoko. You have two choices--wait until I catch them up to you time wise, or I can say that Motoko's in the bathroom and doesn't take it. Akemi pages, "Miki is a good idea. Tylor too" to you. You page, "Right. Trump Miki first." to Akemi. Windir> Morgan OOCLY says, "She's busy. I can deal." Windir> Who you trump next, then? You page, "Who knows, he might even have some suggestions. o.o" to Akemi. Windir> Morgan sighs, and puts the deck away.
