Kanna OOCly nods.  So, last we checked, it was day 38, and Kanna,
Sumire, Misaki, Mia, Gabrielle, Shinobu Minor, Moonshade, Touga, Kozue,
Drake, Vash, Beowulf, Lily, and Mitsune (and their little chibi dinoguy)
had just wasted several packs of werewolves en-route to trying to find
Jacqui, Wakaba, and Utena.

Beowulf OOCly nods in agreement. "Have we heard from Mikage/Falme yet?"

Kanna OOCly nods.  No, I don't know yet.

John says, "OOC HAven't heard from them yet."

Beowulf asks, "OOC Right. Time to trump them, or Tylor?"

Kanna OOCly says, "Tylor generally doesn't take trumps, as a rule.  You
usually have to go through intermediaries."

Kanna OOCly says, "(which makes sense as he is, indeed, the King.)"

Beowulf OOCly says, "Certainly makes sense. Right, then."

John asks, "OOC Going to try and trump Mikage, then?"

The_Prof pages, "Well? :) You were the one who set him up..." to you.

Kanna OOCly says, "Give it a go, I suppose... or if that doesn't work,
then Falme."

Mikage and Falme do not answer.

Beowulf asks, "OOC Do not answer as in cold/dead, or as in not taking
calls?"

John says, "OOC As in not answering."

Kanna frowns at that.  "Mmm.  No answer on either."  She tries to
think... "Hm, I'll try trumping Misato, see if there's any dirt from the
palace on stuff."

You call Misato.  "Hey there!"

Kanna quirks a smile.  "Hey there, Misato... what's the word from home?
We've been out of touch for a while."

Misato says, "We caught a shapechanger trying to steal a magical tome one
of the Chambermaids had somehow gtten.  We're trying to figure out what
happened."

Kanna blinks at that.  "Well, -that's- odd.  Chaosian shapeshifter, or
some neutral group?  And what book?"

"The book of Eibon.  She seems to be working for someone called 'The
Gaunt Man'.  Her name was Andrea Bright, and she was some sort of VERY
powerful shadow shifter."

Kanna hms.  "Hold on a second... lemme grab Bey's hand... maybe he'll have
some insight."

Kanna grab's Bey's hand, bringing him into the conversation.  "Hey, Bey?
 Know anything about 'The Book of Eibon' or 'The Gaunt Man'?"

Kanna's hand trembles a bit as she mentions 'The Book of Eibon', though
only Bey notices.

Beowulf hmmms. "Well, the Book of Eibon is a legendary tome of Outsider
Lore; all copies were thought to be destroyed. As for the Gaunt Man...
he's the traditional 'evil tempter' figure in many shadows. The one who
cuts a crooked deal with you to bring you down."

Beowulf looks up slowly. "Where did you come across this?"

Kanna purses her lips.  "And said book's turned up in Castle Amber. 
Wuuunderful.  Any idea who the chambermaid got it?  Or any images drawn
from Andrea Bright's mind as to who the Gaunt Man is?"

Misato says, "The Chambermaid claims she found it under someone's bed."

Beowulf frowns. "Any idea whose? At least that she'll admit to?"

Kanna glances at Bey.  "A shapeshifter, by the name of Andrea Bright, was
trying to steal it from the chambermaid to take it to the Gaunt Man."  She
then listens.

Misato continues, "And the Gaunt Man seems to rule a world of monsters,
feeding on the fear and terror they generate."

The_Prof pages, "I have a nasty suspicion... remember Jacqui had a copy of
it?" to you.

You page, "If he grabbed the location from Jacqui's mind... -_-;;;" to

The_Prof pages, "I suspect the chambermaid took it out of Jacqui's room,
thank goodness, and thus this Bright person couldn't go straight to it."

Kanna dryly comments.  "Sounds like a fun place to vacation."

Misato says, "She says she found it under Jacqui's bed."

Kanna says, "...."

Kanna would facepalm, if she had any free hands.  "Bey?  Facepalm for me,
would you?"

Beowulf obligingly facepalms. "Jacqui? But why would she have it?"

Misato says, "Ask her when you find her."

Beowulf rolls his eyes. "Undoubtedly a good idea."

Kanna says, "Damned if -I- know, but given we're trying to rescue a
captive Jacqui, the timing of this is TOO damn 'coincedental'.  At least
this Gaunt Man doesn't have it... you probably want to notify the king of
Anthy if you haven't already."  She quirks a slight smile.  "Speaking of
whom, how're the two doing?"

"They're just fine right now.  Everything else here is going pretty
well, other than the Ashante ambassador getting stuck in a door for half a
day."

Beowulf can't help quirking a slight grin at that. "I see. Well, was
there anything else you were able to find in this Andrea Bright's mind?
Like how she got to Amber in the first place?"

"She had the ability to assume forms that allowed shadow travel."

"She also had ten vampire flunkies.  Fortunately, she forgot to bring them
along during her attack on the castle."

Beowulf says, "You might check and see if she has anything that might be a
construct manifestation... oh, right. Drat. Was hoping there'd be
something we might be able to set up feedback through."

Kanna chuckles softly, adn then nods.  "Hm.... Any words on Mikage and
Falme?  Last I heard, he was in Daiga."

Misato says, "Damned if I know.  He's not my job, and I'm glad."

Kanna nods.  "Well, thanks.  Could you forward to King Tylor that we
found the site where the Jewel was summoned by Jacqui, and found the
remains of an Outsider construct there, we think... turns out it was
Dinosaur World.  We're now on the trio's trail, and have Beowulf, Lily,
and Mitsune with us."

Misato nods.  "Will do."

Beowulf asks, "*Did* you find anything else notworthy in the way of
items on her?"

"Not really.  She seemed to largely rely on her rather impressive
shapeshifting."

Beowulf smiles slightly. "Well, make sure you've got plenty of silver on
her, yes?"

Beowulf says, "After seeing... well, I've had a bit more of a taste of
what advanced shapeshifting can do lately, and I'd rather keep it in safe
hands." He smiles.

Misato says, "I think Nanami melted her down once she'd been thoroughly
interrogated," Misato says.  "It would have been very hard to hold her."

Kanna says, "Right." She quirks an eyebrow at Bey. "Well, we'll get out of
your hair now, Misato ..." She whistles.  "Yup, that's permanent, all
right."

Kanna asks, "Take care, okay?"

Beowulf boggles a bit. "...right. I suppose that shouldn't surprise me.
Yes, take care, and keep everyone safe up there!" He smiles. "You're
*very* good at that."

Misato grins.  "I do my best.  Good luck, Beowulf, Kanna."

Kanna grins.  "Thanks." She then cuts the connection.

Beowulf looks at Kanna. "Well. And things get yet more interesting."

Kanna says, "Nooo kidding." She sighs, and then quickly fills in the
group about the Book of Eibon under Jacqui's bed, and this Gaunt Man
guy, and solicits opinions.

Beowulf says, "It's at least a hopeful thought that he was looking for
it... means he hasn't learned everything yet."

Gabrielle purses her lips. "Jaqui is incredibly naive. It's possible
someone gave her the book and never told her what it was, hoping it would
corrupt her."

Gabrielle says, "That's a typical cheap Outsider trick."

Kanna nods.  "If indeed he's the same guy.  Though given the timing of
events, it's a damn high-level coincedence."

Kanna rolls her eyes. "Well, we never -did- get the full story of where
she was during those years she was missing."

Beowulf smiles sadly. "I suppose so. And it's possible... well, I don't
really want to consider the possiblility, but she could indeed be playing
dumb with how naive she's acting."

Gabrielle says, "I think we need way more proof than we have to start
considering that possibility seriously. "

Beowulf shrugs. "But, well, regardless, we need to get her out of
there."

Kanna says, "There's just SO far you can take that theory, yeah." She nods
to Beowulf.  "And your mom and your aunt and whoever -else- might've been
captured."

Gabrielle cocks her head.

Kanna looks at Gabrielle. "Hm?"

Gabrielle holds up a hand in the classic 'just a second' pose.

Kanna brings the group to a halt, though they weren't really moving much
at the moment, anyway.

Gabrielle says, "Hmmm. That's... very... interesting."

Gabrielle says, "Jacqueline was given the book by Taylor d'Arden."

Kanna arches an eyebrow in unconcious imitation of her mom.  "That's
good, Gabrielle... eh?"  Now -she- tilts her head.  "How'd you find that
out?"

Gabrielle says, "Jacqui walked me to get her Pattern imprint."

Kanna blinks at that, and ohhhhs, nodding in understanding.

Gabrielle says, "She didn't want to take it, but he convinced her
somehow."

Beowulf's eyes widen a bit. "I see. Well, that would make sense, given
Taylor's apparent origins on Leng."

Kanna says, "Yes, very interesting, if this Taylor is the same guy who
tried to get to Valinor, and the same who came from Leng."

Beowulf says, "The more I hear about Taylor... assuming the figures are
one and the same... the less I like him."

Kanna asks, "You too, huh?"

Gabrielle says, "Jacqui has a ton of holes in her memory." She frowns. "I
can't even find her memory of accepting the book, but she must have,
because she had it." She sighs. "Well, we can always ask her when we find
her. If she knows."

The ground begins to shake.

Your various companions look about, frowning.  You're still heading
through forest.

Beowulf grimaces. "Yes. But holes in her memories? I've never heard of
ones that a PatternWalk couldn't erase, unless they've been literally
burned into her..."

Beowulf blinks at the ground. "Less talk, more move, I think."

Drake frowns.  "Everybody move it!"

Kanna blinks at the Earthshaking.  She scans the horizon as well,
patternsights, the environment, and then looks at Gabrielle.  "Sis,
think you can supress the earth-shaking with a bit of Funky Metal stuff?
 RIGHT!"

Gabrielle moves as Drake specifies.

Kanna gets them moving off, shifting shadow so that they're still going
for the trio, yet out of the earthquake/tremors/whatever zone.  If that's
even possible at the moment.

Otherwise, she'll keep trying to keep the group together and just
riding. We shall see, I imagine.

Beowulf holds up his scanning device as they ride. "Doesn't look like
anything going on as far as external powers."

The ground starts to be pretty torn up.  The tremors continue; this
earthquake seems to extend across a fair # of shdows.

Beowulf asks, "OOC Does it seem to be getting stronger?"

John says, "OOC It's lasting unnaturally long for an Earthquake, and you
seem to be riding into worse damaged areas."

Kanna OOCly says, "Options are to try and shift shadow to steady ground,
or hold in one place for Gabrielle to stabilize the area? -- great,
Shadowtrap."

John says, "OOC You think that if you keep riding towards Jacqui by this
route, you're gonna inevitably ride into worse quakeland."

Beowulf says, "Gabrielle, any thing look odd in the air? I suggest we pull
Ajax out of the bag and take off."

Gabrielle says, "Yes. Yes we should. Air is good."

Kanna says, "I think we're being herded!  I'm gonna shift us to stabler
ground for the moment!  Get off the path of Jacqui for the moment."

Gabrielle says, "Given the fact that a number of Cthonians are closing in
on us."

You bring out the Ajax and you take to the skies.

Kanna gets everybody aboard right quickly, doing a headcount as she does
so to make sure everybody IS onboard.

Kanna says, "Gee, this seems familiar."  She grins, wryly.

Beowulf says, "Well, at least this time there aren't any prisoners to be
left behind."

Kanna sighs, but nods.  "You'd have to remind me of that." She winks.

The_Prof pages, "One nasty thought I had... did anyone make sure Nanami
and Drake were brainscrubbed after getting them out of Ebenscrux?" to you
and Akemi.

The ground rips itself apart below you, but you could care less as you go
flying along.

Beowulf says, "Well, they didn't get us on the ground; I suggest we keep
an eye out for aerial attacks. And parachutes to hand, everyone."

Kanna looks down at the environment, the land below them.  Curious as to
see what the hell it is that's causing the earthwaukes.

Kanna nods.  "Flightspells and 'chutes, yup.  No chances, here."

The ground begins turning more jungley.

A rather earthquake devastated jungle.

when she got close to the construct." to you.

You page, "Right.  We don't have 'range' yet, but either would do..." to

The_Prof pages, "Checking with John to see whether the zep form or the
pterodactyl form would be wiser to use, warfare-wise... and notice he
never answered whether Drake and Nanami had been brainscrubbed after
coming out of Ebenscrux?" to you.

Beowulf looks out at the ground. "Nice thingamabobers. Right."

Kanna whistles softly at the devestation.

Beowulf says, "Thanks for the warning, Gabrielle. Psychic
earthquake-creating tunnelers would not make our day. Especially ones that
can sometimes cross shadow boundaries."

Kanna deadpans.  "Cute."

Kanna then goes and makes sure everybody's parachuted if they haven't got
one nearby already.

Gabrielle waves a hand. "Not a problem."

as in -having- parachutes, not actually jumping.  Just to clarify.

Everyone has a parachute.

Kanna hms.  So we're still shadow-travelling towards Jacqui and Co... does
it feel like we're getting 'closer'?  What day are we on, now?

Late in day 38.

John says, "OOC YEs.  I assume you're going to cook and eat in the air?

Kanna OOCly says, "I'd assume that the place has Dining facilities,
somehow... *(looks to bey*"

Beowulf OOCly says, dryly, "The thought had crossed our mind, yes. Keep at
least two people on skywatch while we're eating. And yes, there is a
kitchen... remember the Graf Zeppelin? :)"

Kanna OOCly says, "Of course.  And during this... Kanna shall try
trumping Lian, once she's eaten."

Gabrielle makes meatloaf for all. Delicious, delicious meatloaf.

Okay, you trump Lian

Lian looks rather surprised at the trump call, but the surprise is
quickly replaced by a big smile. "Kanna!"

Kanna blinks, and grins.  "Oy, Lian!  I see -you're- all smiles right
now..."

Lian grins. "It's been -ages- since I last saw you ... I'm allowed to be
happy, am I not?"

Kanna arches an eyebrow.  "Yes, yes you are." She  grins.  "I take it you
found the silmaril and got into some fast-time in the process, then?
 It's only been --" *quick mental math* " -- about five days for us on the
Jacqui trail."

Lian nods, her expression changing to serious. "Oh, I found the
silmaril, and a lot of trouble. One White Witch, and one Heart of Ice,
which contained the silmaril. I have the silmaril now, and the witch is
dead, but the construct's still around. I was hoping to get your and
Gaby's help in dealing with it when your current mission is over. No, the
fast time was to recover from the experience. Several years to get my arms
back, reconfigure Mechanus, and finish the Dragon Knight."

Kanna ohhhhs, and nods.  And then pauses.  "Fucking shit, how'd your
arms get torn off?"

Lian says, "The witch was pretty much your strength class, and I had to go
in to kill her for good."

Beowulf OOCly sighs. "What *is* it with you and arms?"

Kanna winces.  "Well, fuck.  Shoulda come a long, but..." She then looks
puzzled.  "How'd the Sil work its way into the Heart of Ice?"

Lian says, "I have -no- idea, and I wasn't about to stand around and ask
the Heart some questions. It was rather intent on killing me."

Kanna raises her eyebrows. "I thought the Master's notes were implying it
was neutral..." She then considers, and shakes her head. "You good for
coming through?  We're on the Ajax now, still shifting shadow towards the
Tenjou Trio, and it'd be probably better for you, me, and Bey to chat at
the same time.  Thre's been some interesting developments."

Lian says, "Neutral my pretty behind. 'Die, pattern scum!' isn't a
neutral greeting." She looks down at herself, "I'll be ready in a
second. I'll get my stuff, wind Mechanus down to standard time, and
trump you so you can get me through."

Kanna says, "You got it.  I'll go and grab bey."

Lian gets the full set of equipment after the call ends and trumps Kanna
back.

Kanna accepts the call from Lian, not having gotten -that- far due to the
vagarities of time differentials, and pulls her through.  And then hugs
her, breifly but non-crushingly.

Lian drops her pack on the floor and hugs Kanna back, smiling. "Hello
again, stranger."

Beowulf looks at Lian, as presumably Kanna's said something about what
she's been through. "Well, you *look* solid enough. Maybe we should just
put detachable sockets on the shoulders, for quick re-attachment?"

Mitsune snorts at that.

Kanna says, "I let you wander shadow for less than a week and you get into
trouble..." She quickly tousles Lian's hair, and then lets go.

Kanna says, "No, I'm not about to comprehend a Mecha-Lian.  Sorry."

Kanna grins.

Gabrielle waves. "Hey, Lian. Did you bring any giant steam-powered
engines of death?"

Beowulf says, "Oh, but it would be a creative use of natural skills... no?
Oh, well."

Lian arches an eyebrow, "You're one to talk about getting into trouble,
big girl." She grins and pats her rather large pack. "No giant
steam-powered engines of death, I'm afraid. Just a good supply of Holy
Handgrenades, and a plasma rifle or two."

Beowulf says, "Plasma rifles? Could be useful."

Kanna chuckles, and then looks to Lian.  "Well, those should hopefully
help.  And who us?  I'm little miss safety concious.  Ignore the werewolf
attack and tunneling-critter earthquake."

Lian says, "Werewolf attack. Tunneling-critter earthquake." She looks
around, "Looks like you have quite a few tales of your own to tell."

Kanna says, "Provided they work in the destination shadow... but with
metal and fire at sis's command, I -think- she could tweak things to work
there?  Though you'd be fighting against the construct's control at the
time."

Kanna says, "Oh, and the not-really-random Ninja attack."

Lian says, "Ninjas too? Oh fun ..."

Gabrielle says, "Well, the Metal thing is really just incidental to what I
_INTEND_ to do with this thing."

Beowulf says, "Well, it wasn't too fun for them, I'm afraid."

Lian eyes Gaby. "And what do you intend to do with whatever thing you're
talking about?"

Gabrielle smiles and brandishes the Eye of Metal. "You'll see."

Kanna says, "Aaanyway, to make a long-story-short.  The Shadow theatre was
powered by the Lion Spikard of Dreams.  The Lizardmen from Dino World dug
'em up, then Jacqui, Wakaba, and Utena followed 'em to dinosaur world. 
THEN while Aunt Utena was slaughtering dinoguys, Jacqui summoned the Jewel
to torque the environment there... we believe it was the center of a
construct, which was why it was so inhospitable to sane people."

Kanna says, "And then Jacqui and co got bushwhacked, the Jewel came back
to Amber, and she and her grandmom and grandaunt, unconcious, got captured
by a tall, thin, puritan-type guy with what we think is something
Dragon-Spikard related, grabbed stuff from them and out of the tree that
was the construct, and then left."

Kanna shows Lian a sketch of the thin guy and his staff.

Lian looks at the sketch and hms.

Lian says, "Never seen him. Or heard of him, for that matter."

Kanna says, "And then he left... and now we're following them.  We hit
werewolves earlier today, and earthquake-critters this afternoon."

Kanna says, "Oh, and the ninjas were after Sumire.  They had construct
manifestations in the shape of cellphones to let them travel through
shadow."

Lian asks, "Earthquake-critters?"

Kanna says, "But that's tangental."

Kanna looks at Bey and Gabrielle. "I didn't get a good look at 'em... you
said they were 'Cthonians'?"

Gabrielle nods.

Beowulf says, "Nasty tunnelling creatures, that use psychic powers to
create earthquakes. And some of 'em can cross Shadow."

Lian facepalms at the mention of Chtonians. "Someone clearly doesn't
like you."

Beowulf smiles. "My, fancy that."

Gabrielle says, "Many people don't like me. I've yet to lose sleep over
it. If I slept."

Kanna hmphs.  "But hey, I'm a nice girl!  What's not to like?" She
smiles.

Lian grins. "Don't ask me ... I like you well enough. But then, I don't
send servitors after people."

Gabrielle says, "Now, that's your Mom and her deranged little puppets."

Lian says, "Mom's no Outsider though, Gaby."

Gabrielle says, "Yes, this is true."

Kanna says, "Hrm... what else of note... Well, let's see, we're
operating right now under the assumption that whoever this thin guy is,
he's likely running a Construct that'd be of the same nature as
Ebenscrux... which means he's probably plugged in Jacqui, Wakaba, and
Utena to use their abilities.  Plus who knows who else he might've
grabbled.  Quite possibly with two spikards as well, one Dragon, one Lion.
 I imagine we'll get something of a confirmation of construct type if we
encounter any drained shadows along the way... there was the same around
Dinosaur World."

Lian nods, "I encountered one on the way to the Heart, too. Darkness,
black sand, and half an ice bridge. Ugly place."

Kanna says, "Blech.  No sign of bridges, but we didn't stay around long
enough to check.  Uncle Touga says there's been an increased number of 'em
the past 40 years."

Beowulf sighs. "Nasty places. Where's Greenpeace when you need them?"

Kanna says, "Eh, give 'em a few millenia, maybe they'll recover."

Beowulf says, "There were bridges going into Ebenscrux's shadow, tying it
to other shadows."

Kanna asks, "Cute.  Was that the only way you could make the approach?"

Kanna says, "Though, admittedly, we just shifted shadow normally once got
out of the black area.  When we went to Dinosaur World, that is."

Lily walks in.  "We have a bit of a problem.  Someone's firing rockets at
us from the jungle."

Beowulf asks, "Well, we went into one of the linked shadows... ah.
Perhaps we should take care of them, yes?"

She says, "And magic doesn't seem to work here."

Beowulf quickly takes a look at the rockets... what's their apparent
range, and can Ajax climb above it?

Gabrielle asks, "We're not in one of those 'Nam shadows, are we?"

Kanna sighs.  "Cute."  She moves to see the source of the rockets. 
"Lian?  What's the range on those rifles of yoursl?"

Someone's firing anti-aircraft missiles.  A zeppelin is not going to be
able to rise above them.  On the other hand, tehir aim sucks.

Lian takes a plasma rifle out and strokes its barrel. "30 mm plasma
bolter, max range in single fire mode is about 1.5 km. Slightly less in
autofire mode."

You can see the general area they are coming from, but the canopy of the
jungle hides their exact origin.

second and I'll start a fire to burn off the canopy."

Kanna hrms, and accepts one, makes sure it's safed, sights along it to get
a feel for its weight and accuracy.  "Hmmm.  Anybody trying to shift magic
back, or shall we hold on that for the moment?"

Part of the jungle begins to burn.

The fire begins spreading towards the site.

As the fire spreads, the barrage stops.

Kanna hrms, and moves to one of the observation platforms (exterior?), and
prepares herself to be a living anti-missile screen.

Kanna starts firing to take out any missles that got too close.

The fire burns over the missile site, revealing the launchers, which
seem to have been abandoned by their crews.  With the weaponry you all are
packing, you easily level it.

And continue onwards into the night.

Gabrielle nods in a satisfied way. "Fire. Is there nothing it can't do?"

Kanna practices her markswomanship.

Beowulf says, "A few things, I'm sure," he says dryly.

Touga says, "Fire isn't very good at making things wet."

Kanna opens her mouth, and then just closes it, quietly.

Gabrielle hmmphs and pouts prettily. "You're just jealous of my l33t
sk1llz."

Touga says, "I am the very spirit of good will towards all."  He smiles.

Beowulf says, "Anyway, we went into one of the linked shadows and
entered Ebenscrux's shadow over the bridge for a clandestine approach.
Unfortunately, the clandestine approach may have been one reason the
diversion didn't work."

Kanna sighs wryly, and slings the plasma bolter on her back, along with
the rest of her gear.  "Onward, then, I surmise." Once again, we shift the
shadows towards the Tenjou Trio.

Your flight continues into the night.  Are you all going to stay up all
night?  Sleep in shifts?  Or what?

shift the jungle to better absorb the impact.

Kanna glances at her watch, even as she tries to get magic/technoolgy
back, and the balloon filled with nice happy helium.

Technology fancier than fire and stone spears is turned off here.

Mitsune begins trying to rouse people, but no one seems to want to wake
up.

frowns, trying to get the tech level back up, while touga and Gabrielle
try shifting stuff as well in their individual tasks.

You reach out to shove the tech level.  Something shoves back.  However,
you stop plummeting shortly 'afore hitting the canopy.

And now you can hear strange whistling noises in the night sky growing
closer.

Kanna phews slightly.  "Oh ker-fuck.  I think we're in range of the
enemy construct."

Kanna shifts one of her rings to crossbow form, and tests the action,
unloaded, to verify it'll work.

And then the Zeppelin gets dispelled.

Kanna exclaims, "!!"

Gabrielle grabs Kanna as her flamewings unfold from her back.

Touga casts a spell.  Nothing happens.  Touga curses.  Mitsune manages to
sprout wings and save Beowulf and Lily, because by sheer chance, she was
in their room, trying to wake them at the time.

Kanna grabs onto Gabrielle, even as she herself doesn't seem to be
sprouting the wing-thing.

Gabrielle swoops down so Lian can grab onto her back, then angles so
Touga can grab her legs. And that's about her limit.

Kanna makes sure everybody grabbing onto her sister are secure.

Lian, sadly, is asleep and can't grab Gabby's back, and falls out of

Whistling noises are closing in.

Kanna shifts rings to crossbows, and starts shooting towards the
whistling noises.  "Get us to the ground!  Quickly!"

Gabrielle heads downward somewhat awkwardly, given the large sister
she's holding and Touga dangling form her legs.

Kanna hsm, and concentrates, trying to use her headband to shift to a
smaller-bodied form -- the Juri/Shiori one.

Some of the whistling noises stop as invisible creatures get mowed down by
Kanna.

Kanna keeps mowin' them down, then.

As you fly downwards, you can see packs of hungry werewolves waiting for
you and attacking the people who fell to earth.  Drake and Vash are trying
desperately to defend everyone else, but they're hideously outmatched.

Kanna snarls.  Can Kanna make a safe drop, now?

Yes, you can.

Touga says, "Gabrielle, we need goatloads of silver."

Gabrielle hefts Touga up into her arms. "Right, right." She
concentrates.

Mitsune settles down Beo and Lily into the branches of a tree and begins
trying to revive them.

them.  She just finished casting a spell disrupted by the sinkhole.

plate closing over her as the eyes start to glow.

Kanna also decides to take a breif moment to nicely STARE at the Big Ass
Mech.  Then shakes her head and rejoins the group.

You hear drake scream, perhaps as if he was forced to retreat through a
wall of fire.

Kanna would facepalm if she had the bloody time.

Mitsune reverts to human form now.  Angel form really.

Lian regards the wounded through the eyes of the mech. (OOC: Anyone

likely to have the capability for mental defense at the moment.  I think
I'd best go after Drake."

her other weapons.

Gabrielle lets Kanna and Co. out of the dome. "Knock on the outside with
the Naginata when you want back in."

Kanna purses her lips, but nods.  "You've got it, sis."

And then she turns into a flaming mist.

The sword falls down as Kanna reaches the tree.

And then she rushes at the man and flows in through his nostrils.

Lian runs for rapier boy too, then stops as Mitsune goes into him.

Werewindle lands point first in the ground.

Kanna is sprinting for the tree, and grabs Werewindle as it comes into
reach.  She pulls up short as Mitsune goes flaming mist into Rapierboi's
nose.

Kanna throws her pattern skills and her affinity as the daughter of the
Queen of Ember into quash the flames.

The rapier man burns away from the inside.

Kanna snarls.  "Sis!  Prep for quashing Mitsune's flames and a Fire
Pattern Teleport OUT of here!"

Gabrielle suddenly twitches. "No, wait! I think I can hold the dome up
against it!"

Kanna bandages Lily's wounds as best she can given the circumstances.

Lian opens the mech and puts something in its free hand, then closes the

Mitsune reforms; Gabrielle can put out her flames, but she's a burnt up
mess.

Vash bandages Drake's wounds, looking sad.

Gabrielle exclaims, "I've weakened a small portion of the
south-southwest qudrant enough for you to walk through safely. GO!"

Kanna . o O (oh good pyricorn don't let drake be dead...)

Lian doesn't acknowledge, just breaks into a run. And the mech can run
fast.

someone out here staying guard, and someone *inside* to heal folks, and
cure Mia... but we're so badly fucked-up right now that we need to
recuperate before anything more happens."

Kanna OOCly says, "Though admittedly, if we get most in the bag and...
what Bey said."

Gabrielle asks, "OOC: Nothing can get in to hurt us. Why give up all the
ground we've gained?"

Vash draws his big ass gun.  He slides the Eye of Metal into a hole in it.

Beowulf gets ready to help Kanna if needed.

And then Vash aims his gun and fires at Rapier Boy through the Fire
Wall.

Kanna sprints in that direction after the shot, so as to retreive Lian,
following the path.

Rapier Boy turns into a fine mist.

Beowulf says, "There's probably gonna be another one of 'em in a minute!
The construct can transfer skills like *that*."

Vash pops the Jewel out.  "Who here is attuned to this?"

Gabrielle says, "No, there won't. Vash, give me back the Eye."

Kanna is already sprinting to get Lian and to get her back inside the dome
ASAP, though hopefully to get the Metal Demi-- oh, okay, so it -wasn't-
shot.

Vash hands the eye back to Gabby.

Kanna runs to Lian's side.

Lian is still in her mech, which isn't moving.

Beowulf exclaims, "Gaby, extend the wall out around Lian's mech!"

Gabrielle unfurls her flame wings and rises upward off the ground,
hovering in full Archangel Mode.

Kanna exclaims, "Lian!"

Gabrielle says, "This is something... I learned... from someone... who was
a very great inspiration to me." She tilts back her head.

Lian pops the chest hatch open and climbs out, looking annoyed. "Damn. I
almost had that connection traced."

Kanna hops up to the front chest areas, ready to tear off the covers so as
to extract... okay, so she doesn't have to.  "Nevermind that, we've gotta
go back in!"

The fire dome drops. Machin Shin howls in at you, revening.

And Gabrielle holds up the Eye of Metal.

The energy rushes over all of you, but since none of you are evil
Outsiders, it does no damage to you whatsoever.

In fact, it leaves you minty fresh.

Machin Shin and the army of werewolves, on the other hand, evaporate.

Lian then quickly heads toward the others, scanning the area. "I hope that
got all nasties ... at least until the next set drops in."

Gabrielle coughs again. "I think even Lina would be impressed, eh, Vash?"

Vash says, "Lina would be proud."

Gabrielle hugs Kanna. "I want a plasma bath, Nagisa, and dinner. In that
order."

Jacqueline says, "OOCly ...."

Moriya OOCly says, "D'oh."

Moriya OOCly says, "Wait for Travis to come back. o.o"

John says, "OOC This entire shadow is pure as the day is long."

Kanna OOCly holds, then, for Travis to get back.

Windir wakes up.

Beowulf OOCly AARGHS!

Kanna OOCly notes that this is definitely a Kanna adventure, though.

Kanna OOCly pats.  Didn't miss much.

Beowulf says, "OOC Last thing I saw was Kanna taking cover."

Kanna OOCly says, "Gaby, Vash, repose?"

Kanna OOCly says, "OKay, you missed more than a little bit."

Kanna OOCly says, "Suffice it to say, the Shadow is now Minty Fresh."

Kanna OOCly says, "(ie, Outsiders?  What outsiders?)"

Kanna OOCly says, "Machin Shin and werewolves are very very evaporated."

Kanna OOCly says, "Gaby, Vash, Bey, Lian, Kanna were not affected 'cause
they're not outsiders."

Beowulf says, "OOC ...right. o.O Still gonna be guys the construct can
imbue with fighting skills, though, I think."

Damasq says, "OOC:  I think the minty fresh Patterny goodness of the
Shadow means that attempts to reach inside with an Outsider-based
Construct will fail.  :)"

Kanna hugs back.  "... looks like it.  Good effing Pyricorn... We might
not be able  to get the drop off on 'em again that way, but if this IS the
shadow with the construct in it... we're not out of things yet.  But I
think you may need to be  benched a bit."  She looks around.  "Fuckin' A."

Gabrielle grins. "I was saving that for the Construct. But I think we all
needed it just then."

Lian says, "IT didn't hurt at all, at least."

Kanna nods.  "Right." She whews, and rubs her brow.  "Okay, decision
time.  Bey can fasttime the Bag and start getting folks healed... the
question is, do it in here," She nods to the shadow, "or pull out back to
more -saner- shadows."

And then there is a flash of light, and Jacqui appears, holding the
Jewel of Judgement.

Beowulf just shakes his head. "Right. Good question..."

Gabrielle manages to lift herself off Kanna. Then she blinks.

Lian starts to say something, then just stares.

Gabrielle asks, "Okay, am I hallucinating now?"

Kanna exclaims, "JACQUI?!"

Jacqueline falls down to her knees, clutching a bloody wound on her head

Jacqueline says, "save.... them...."

Beowulf says, "If you are, I think we all are, Gabrielle..." He just
shakes his head, too stunned to even be excited.

Jacqui is gushing blood, you can see her brain.

Lian murmurs, "Doesn't look like it, as I see her too, Gaby." She heads
over to Jacqui, shaking her head as she kneels down next to her.

Kanna says, "Shit!  That answers... oh effing pyricorn.  Sis, take the
Jewel."

Gabrielle staggers over to Jacqui and scoops it up. "Already... on it."

Kanna says, "Get Jacqui inside, and start the healing process, we do NOT
have much time."

Beowulf nods. "Right."

Kanna says, "Stabilize, if nothing else."

Lian checks the wound, then lightly touches Jacqui's head. "Working on
that already."

Kanna nods, biting her lip.

Beowulf says, "OOC Who has healing skills right now? Lily does, but
she's inside the bag."

Lian . o O ( OOC: Gues who's your doctor tonight? )

Kanna OOCly says, "if somebody goes inside to fasstime and start various
folks healed, and then pops out to shift back to slow... then that might
be viable."

Beowulf says, "OOC Right, but we need someone to start the healing
chain... right."

Gabrielle starts drawing power through the Jewel to buoy herself up.

Jacqui's head wound gets a little smaller.

Lian says, "Bey, we need to get her into the bag."

Gabrielle then sits down heavily and lays a hand on Jacqui's side, the
Jewel starting to glow quite redly.

Jacqui's head now closes up and stops showing off her powerful brain.

Beowulf gets ready to set the bag to normal time, get Jacqui in, then
fasttime it.

Kanna says, "You two head in and fasttime.  Vash and sis and I'll guard
out here.  Mia'll need to be kept under until her brain can be cleaned and
she can walk Althena's Tear again."

Gabrielle says, "Little girl... you've caused quite a lot of trouble." She
smiles wearily.

Jacqueline asks, "OOCly am I unconscious?"

John says, "OOC JAcqui, you're barely conscious."

Beowulf says, "Who can stay outside and guard the bag while we heal?" He
looks over at the remaining effectives.

Kanna says, "Me and Vash, at the least."

Vash says, "I can."

Jacqueline says, "gramma.... auntie... taylor...."

Jacqueline says, "s-save...."

Kanna looks sadly at Jacqui.  "rest and heal, Jacqueline.  save your
strength, we'll rescue them."

Beowulf nods. "Right." He opens the bag and gets folks ready to enter;
just before going in himself, he sets the bag to normal time, so he'll
have time to fasttime it once he's inside.

Kanna . o O (Taylor?  Oh boy?)

Lian nods and enters the bag.

Kanna says, "Let drake know we have Werewindle, too."

Beowulf nods.

Kanna waits outside with Vash as the three head in the bag to do the
thing of fast-healing and scrubbing and stuff.

Jacqueline closes her eyes and just tries to keep breathing

Gabrielle does something with the Jewel of Judgement, then places it
back in Jacqui's hand and closes her fingers around it. "It should keep
feeding her energy, but take it away from her the second she's fully
conscious."

Kanna says, "And ditto with the naginata," as Bey ducks in.

Kanna lets out a shuddering breath as the three duck in, and looks at Vash
and sis.  "Good Shooting.  Both of you." She manages a tired, but
heartfelt smile.

Gabrielle massages her neck. "Mmm. I feel a little better. The Jewel of
Judgement recharged me, a bit." she looks at Vash. "That's a DAMN
interesting gun you've got, Vash the Stampede."

Kanna says, "I really effing fucking hope we don't have to go through MORE
of this.  Though given Jacqui got out... mmmm."

Vash says, "I found it in an ancient ruin.  It works anywhere."

Kanna says, "I want one." She smiles a bit.  "But I probably won't get
one, so I'm not gonna fret over it."

Vash says, "Utena and Wakaba...What about them?"

Kanna frowns.  "I don't know.  Presumably they're still stuck in that...
whatever.  Hopefully they'll be able to get more of the story about
Jacqui.  Probably means they're still in the construct, several shadows
over."

Gabrielle nods. "I was saving that surprise for the Construct." She
guestures around. "But I won't be up for another one for a LONG while."

Kanna hrms, and decides that since this probably going to be the ONLY time
EVER she's ever gonna have Werewindle and Butterfly's Wing in her hands at
the same time, decides to patternsight 'em.

Kanna nods.  "We've got breathing room, though.  That's better than we
WERE doing."

Kanna asks, "remind me.  NExt time we have something like that happen, we
shift back OUT in the REVERSE direction, not plow on ahead?"

Kanna says, "Give the folks inside time to heal, since they're in fast
time, and then we'll figure things."

Vash says, "Has anyone got a trump of Utena or Wakaba?

Gabrielle tosses Vash an entire deck.

Kanna says, "Um, BEy was warning that trumping them could be damn
dangerous...."

Vash frowns at Kanna's warning.

Kanna looks down at Werewindle again, ruefully, and resheathes it.  "One
day, gotta get the story from Uncle Drake how he got this." She quirks a
smile.  "And how Sumire -really- forged this."

Gabrielle blinks. "Please don't tell me Sumire has an actual Pattern
Naginata, Kanna."

Kanna says, "Sumire's Naginata is about as close as someone could get to
duplicating it without quite managing the task."

Kanna says, "Still, it'd damn fucking impressive that she did.  And at
-21-, too.  Good Pyricorn."

Gabrielle blinks. "wooo. God for Sumire."

Gabrielle says, "Good, even. Did I say god? Wow, that Slave took it out of
me."

Kanna pats Gaby on the shoulder.

Lian uses spells to heal the worst damage and get people at least
conscious again, especially the spellcasters.

bring up that i'd blasted the gaunt man o.o"

John says, "OOC Go ahead, Jacqui"

Beowulf says, "Lily, you going to be OK? Damnit, I almost had a heart
attack when I saw you burning..."

Lily says, "I'm going to be fine, though I ache all over."

Beowulf says, "Thank goodness," he says, heart in his eyes.

Jacqueline exclaims, "no!  we can't leave!"

Jacqueline says, "gramma and auntie are still there!  and... and... I
might've killed the gaunt man."

Beowulf says, "Huh?" He goes over to Jacqui. "What's this, Jacqui? Stay
calm and don't stress yourself, then tell me."

Beowulf blinks. "Yes, I know, we're definitely going to get Mother and
Aunt Utena out. What was the situation when you left?"

Jacqueline stretches her hands out and casts a spell, replaying the
events... shapeshifting out from her painful crucifixion, summoning the
JOJ, being attacked by the gaunt man while blasting him seemingly to
pieces with the power of the JOJ

Lian comes over halfway through the story.

Reeling from the blow as the cane struck her, teleporting away...

Jacqueline says, "we have to go there.  we have to save them."  Her
visage darkens considerably.  "We have to make sure he's dead."

Jacqueline says, "OOCly ported out first."

Beowulf talks as he checks. "Right, we will."

Beowulf asks, "About how close are we to where they were, Jacqui, or can

Beowulf smiles at her. "What's up?"

Jacqueline shakes her head. "No... I couldn't find the others.  Ara.... do
you have a spare spell rack?" she asks, embarrassed. "I lost mine."

Mitsune has recovered, though she is still kind of weak.

Beowulf says, "We can work something up in a bit, Jacqui; we're in fast
time here, 1000 years passing here for every Amber second."

John says, "OOC They'r elying up in beds."

John says, "OOC Ask Beo, he laid them all out."

Jacqueline asks, "OOCly Beo?"

Kanna OOCly says, "Beowulf."

Beowulf says, "OOC I suspect for time reasons we just set up cots in the
entranceway, instead of trying to move 'em further."

Jacqueline says, "OOCly ah. so they're not in the immediate sight area"

Beowulf says, "OOC It's about the size of an aircraft hangar."

Kanna OOCly says, "though presumably, they're all in the same close
relative grouping."

Jacqueline says, "OOCly ah, okay."

John says, "OOC I'd think they'd be nearby."

Beowulf says, "OOC Though... yes, brainwave, mine, off. :)("

Beowulf asks, "OOC From the replay, what could we tell of the layout
inside the construct?"

Kanna OOCly looks innocent.

John says, "OOC All you saw was the cell that Jacqui was held in; a
closet sized area with two big rods she was impaled on, and a bit of
hallway."

Beowulf says, "OOC Right."

Kanna OOCly says, "Ewwwww."

Jacqueline says, "OOCly not impaled THAT way"

You page, "Well, we're not dead, and folks are healing, and we've got one
captive out and the Gaunt Man MIGHT be dead... we're doing better!" to

The_Prof pages, "Ayup. Might not be quite such a disaster after all." to

Lian smiles briefly and goes back to working on the wounded.

Jacqueline says, firmly, "We can't leave until we get them back.  We
just can't."  She then notices Shinobu Minor on the cot. 
"Shinobu-chan!"  she rushes off to her side.....

Lian looks over to Jacqui across several beds. "Be careful, you. I don't
need -more- work here."

Beowulf follows Jacqui, making sure she doesn't stumble and hurt herself
or anyone else. "Jacqui, what do you remember of what it's like inside the
construct?"

Everything.  And he could do anything we could do.  Even play bagpipes."

Beowulf asks, "I understand," he says gently. "But do you remember
anything about the layout of the place?"

Beowulf smiles. "Well, except use the Jewel. I hope."

Shinobu Minor mumbles about cooking potatoes in her sleep.

Beowulf, someone is trumping you.

Jacqueline shakes her head.  "I... I was too scared of running into him if
I wandered too far. I wanted to stop him like I stopped the lizard man....
take the Jewel and ..." an odd look enters her eye a moment. "... crush
them."

Beowulf looks over at Lily and Lian. "Get ready to break me out of this if
it's nasty... someone's trumping me." He also readies the ring with trump
disrupt.

Beowulf waits quickly until they are close enough to help, then takes the
call.

Lian nods and heads over to Bey.

It's Wakaba.

She's in some weird black void full of ladders every which way.  Utena
clings to one near her.

Wakaba says, "Beowulf, can you PLEASE pull us out of here before we
collapse from weeks of torture and plummet to our deaths?"

She sounds rather irritated.

Jacqueline says, "OOCly whacks Beo"

She continues, "I've spent the last week with magical rods jammed
through me while forces of evil eat my brain, and I'm not exactly in the
best of moods to have a chat right now."

Beowulf looks around. "I'm going to pull them through; get ready if it's a
trap or they aren't what they seem."

Jacqueline asks, "them? who?"

Beowulf says, "Mother and Aunt Utena."

Jacqueline's eyes widen.  "PULL! PULL!"

Beowulf pulls them through.

Lian drops a hand to her trusty whip. "I hope it's them ... "

You pull them through.  Wakaba comes through and drops to her knees. Utena
looks, sees Jacqui, and rushes over to her.  "Are you okay?"

Beowulf asks, "Mother? Aunt Utena? if the construct is still there, we
need to destroy it, *fast* -- what was the situation in there?"

Jacqueline rushes to Utena's arms and holds her tight, crying. "Gramma!"

Wakaba says, "The whole shadow blew up and plummeted into the waiting maws
of the Outsiders."

Utena hugs Jacqueline desperately.

descended from Van, trumped us and saved us.

Jacqueline asks, "Gramma... did you see... did you see Taylor anywhere?"

Beowulf says, "So Kuonji left you in that place with the ladders?" He
blinks. "That wasn't very nice of him."

Jacqueline says, "love you too gramma."

Wakaba says, "He gave us a trump to call you, then left.  I don't know
why, but given I'd be dead without him, I'm not complaining."

Beowulf asks, "OOC How's everyone inside the bag look as far as healing
status?"

John says, "OCO Everyone is alive and functional, though some are
resting."

You page, "Now I'm -glad- I gave Kuonji the trump deck." to Chris and

Gabrielle OOC notes that _Moonshade_, with her huge hank of hair the
same shade as _Utenas_, is in there.

The_Prof pages, "Uh-huh. o.o" to you and Chris.

Kanna OOCly says, "They're in shock a bit.  Give 'em a few."

Beowulf says, "He seems to be playing a very odd game."

Beowulf asks, "Did he say anything about the shadow you left behind?"

Wakaba says, "I don't think the Guant Man's shadow exists any more."

Beowulf nods. "So long as whatever gateway dropped it into the Outsiders
closed behind it, I'm happy."

Jacqueline blinks and asks nervously, "Um, when the, um, shadow was
destroyed, er, did you see any, pattern, like, blast?"

Utena nods.  "Yes, we did."

Jacqueline blinks very slowly, and just hugs Utena again.

Beowulf says, "I know Gabrielle set off *something* full of Patternly
goodness not long before you trumped me... that may have been what let you
get out."

Beowulf asks, "So, one minute you were hanging impaled on rods, the
next... how did you get out? Or were you dangling from them over the
monster when Kuonji rescued you?"

Utena says, "The rods shattered for no apparent reason, the shadow fell
apart, and we plummeted into the void."

Beowulf says, "...wow. That must have been some backlash effect from
Gaby's PatternNuke."

Jacqueline just remains silent, still hugging gramma, trying  not to
sweat.

'Taylor' that fell into the horror was a blood creature?" to you and

You page, "As we've heard a tale of a smiliar thing happening when

Gabrielle says, "OOC: We may wanna end soon anyway. Seven hours is a bit
much even for me."

Kanna OOCly hehs.  and Mia's still under to get her brainscrubbed later, I
think.  As mom would be ticked to have her court mage fzted.

Jacqueline kneels before everyone in a typical lipunese manner and bows to
everyone.  "Thank you.... for coming to save us."

Beowulf shrugs and smiles. "Least we could do."

Jacqueline asks innocently, "can we blow up Lowen's shadow next?"

Shinobu Minor ruffles Jacqui's hair.  "No swat.  That's what family is
for."

Beowulf smiles again, makes an 'after you' gesture, and ushers everyone
out of the bag, Lian first so she can prepare 'em for the surprise.

Jacqueline smiles and gives Shinobu Minor a BIG hug

Lian says, "Didn't quite work out the way we imagined, but hey, it works
... " She grins and leaves the bag. "We're back, and we brought guests."

Kanna blinks, and looks up as Lian exits.  "Eh?  How are the others
doing?"

Beowulf says, "Let's worry about making sure everyone's all right first,
and that we don't get the folks still down there in more trouble."

Jacqueline waves to Aunt Kanna happily.  "Hi!"

Wakaba waves to Kanna.  "Hi, there."

Kanna blinks at the apperance of Wakaba, and instinctively patternsights
her, Jacqui, and Utena as soon as they appear.

Jacqueline looks at herself like she forgot to brush up some dirt or
something....

"Your face wll freeze like that someday, sis," Gabrielle says wryly.

Kanna replies, dryly, sotto voce, "so sue me, i'm paranoid."

They all check out as you would expect.

Beowulf exits last. "Well, according to Mother, the construct and its
shadow fell into the Outsiders' maws, and she and Aunt Utena were rescued
by Kuonji, who dropped them off in a shadow of endless ladders."

Lian grins and stands aside, watching the family reunion.

Kanna lets the tension out.

Kanna says, "Thank effing Pyricorn," and moves to hug Utena.

Kanna then Blinks at Bey.  "Bwa??"

Utena hugs you.  "Thank you for coming to help us."

Gabrielle wearily holds up a hand, and the Jewel of Judgement flies into
it with a smack.

Kanna says, "least we could do, Aunt Utena." She smiles a bit.  "I need to

Kanna holds one hand out in case folks need to join in.

Jacqueline pales slightly, hoping uncle King isn't upset about the JOJ

Beowulf says, "I'm guessing there was a spikard, possibly two in there,
and perhaps some other goodies the Gaunt Man stole from inside the
construct you first fought in Dinosaur World."

Kanna lets out a deep breath.  "Right.  Uncle Tylor must've noticed the
JoJ bopping back and forth and figured we'd finished things here.  He's
gonna be sending Wasyuu over to give us all a second go-through on the
healing end."

Beowulf says, "Oh. I'm sorry... I'm still a bit stunned, I'm not being as
polite as I should be." He sags a bit.

Beowulf asks, "Yes, why uh-oh?"

Lian says, "It's -mom-."

Kanna says, "Ah."

And then Wasyuu simply appears.

Wasyuu says, "Well, well, what a carnival of patients I see before me."

She smiles.  "Hello, everyone, King Tylor sent me."

Jacqueline steps back, recalling this was the person who was supposed to
cut her head open to get the JOJ out.

Lian waves. "Hi, mom."

Kanna says, "Oh yes.  I -do- recommend that everybody who can walk the
pattern after this little escapade.  Just to make sure.  When we're all
healed up and not the walking comatose."

Beowulf blinks. "Uncle Tylor jewel-teleported you here?"

Beowulf NODS to Kanna.

Wasyuu says, "Oh, I have my ways of keeping track of my lovely
daughter."  She smiles.

Jacqueline frets and siletly says to nobody in particular, "We really
should check..."

Kanna casually patternsights Wasyuu.

Lian asks, "Spying on me, mom?"

Wasyuu casually kicks Kanna in the knee.  "That's rude you know."

Kanna owches.  "Well, Tylor -said- you were gonna -trump-."  She
eyerolls.

Kanna says, "Can I -help- it if my paranoia levels are high right at the
moment?  Nooooooo...."

Beowulf smiles tiredly at Wasyuu. "Sorry, Wasyuu-chan, but we've been
through a bad few hours... days, months..." he bogles a bit. "After going
through destroying two constructs, we're a bit paranoid."

Wasyuu says to Lian, "A mother worries when her daughter's limbs keep
getting severed."

Jacqueline looks around the area for a big castle, or a tower, or
something

Lian mutters something. "It's not MY fault!"

Beowulf says, "But yes, we should probably check out where the construct
used to be and make sure that the gate is closed, see if anything got left
behind, etc."

No one here but deep forest.

Kanna quirks a smile at that, and goes and quietly returns Werewindle to
Drake and Naginata to Sumire before they decide to hurt her.

Drake thanks you and looks embarrassed.

Beowulf smiles at Sumire. "Sometime, you're going to have to show me how
you made that."

Kanna chuckles a bit, and pats Drake on the shoulder.  "No probs, Uncle
Drake.  Not many manage to -survive- Aunt Utena's lunges."

Lian wanders up to Drake. "Saaaay ... would you be interested in a nice,
quiet vacation?"

Drake says, "Does it not involve being crucified or impaled?"

Lian says, "It involves much sun, drinks, and relaxation."

Beowulf raises an eyebrow at Lian. "On a nicle little mechanical world you
know? Or some nicle little shadow someplace?"

Lian smiles innocently, "Well, I have this perfectly nice planet ... "

Jacqueline looks around nervously, then tugs Auntie Wakaba's arm. 
"Um... do you have a spare spell ra-.... oh, no, the gaunt man would've
taken yours rack too, nevermind."

Wakaba says, "I'll conjure you one, sweetie."

Beowulf sighs. "Like I said, Lian." He looks over at Drake. "It should
be... entertaining. Hope you like metal." He smiles.

Lian says, "We have forests and lakes too, actually."

Drake says, "I have long had a certain fondness for Metal, yes."

Beowulf says, "Thanks, Mother. I was going to do it for her as soon as we
hit Amber and recovered, but..."

Beowulf turns to Lily. "And after we're all scrubbed minty clean,
suppose we visit Rick's Place again? Or someplace like it?" He smiles.

Lian smiles at Drake, "Well, we can go there once we're done here. And
with the time difference, only hours will pass in Amber, so we won't miss
anything."

Jacqueline casts a minor flight spell and goes straight up, trying to see
if she can spot her former prison on the horizon, or something.

Lily says, "I'd like to visit Talislanta again, too."

Beowulf says, "This time without our things getting stolen?" He smiles.

Lily nods.  "QUITE."

Jacqueline flies above them all, fretting and looking about,
occasionally with patternsight

Beowulf whispers in her ear, "Though you certainly can't complain about
how it turned out." He tickles her behind the ear.

Kanna mmmms.  She looks up at the flying Jacqui.  She scratches her
cheek, and mmms.
