"Sippin' Logrus. I'm not a shapeshifter. Accident. Please hurry. Argh."" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "He blinks, then turns and leads you and your drunken associates down the hallway. And tries a chaos negation on himself, too." to Akemi. Akemi pages, "You try the power word. Your body jolts, and then you pass out." to you. You page, "Oops." to Akemi. Akemi pages, "You wake up feeling really weird, on a soft bed. A tall, blonde woman stands over you, wearing a lab coat over a red blouse and skirt. "Hello, Prince Moriya." Akemi pages, "She continues, "Although you should excrete it from your system within the next two days, at which point it would be safe to shift you back to normal."" to you. She says, "Be glad you didn't sprout extra heads and fly off to conquer Valencia or worse."" to you. You page, ""Argh. "On the other hand...the people we're facing are expecting a man with red hair named Moriya. Not a woman."" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "She nods. "This is quite true."" to you. You page, "Moriya looks down at herself. "But I don't know if I want to...ugh."" to Akemi. You page, "Moriya then blinks again, and looks in the mirror. "I look like my grandmother. And she's one of the captives. This may confuse them."" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "The woman nods. "I would be inclined to say that it would."" to you. You page, ""I just don't know if...well...I can handle...being a woman. In front of everyone."" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "She says, "Being a woman is not veryhard."" to you. You page, "Moriya twitches. "Not the physical state of being a woman. Just...well...." She facepalms. "This is going to be strange."" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "She nods. "New experience, I assume, then?"" to you. You page, ""Given that I am not a shapeshifter, which is what resulted in this--yes, it is a new experience."" to Akemi. You page, "Moriya continues, "I'm also unsure of how the others will react to this."" to Akemi. You page, "Moriya sighs. "Well...I shouldn't let this opportunity pass by. And I'll need to get used to, er, moving in this form. And maybe if I act naturally enough, people won't question me about it too much."" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "She nods. "Your balance will be somewhat different."" to you. You page, "Moriya gingerly gets out of the bed and stands up to get a sense of her new balance." to Akemi. You page, "She then hrms, and tries to do her hair up like Grandmother's." to Akemi. Akemi pages, "With some help from Dr. Inez, who loans you some hair pins, you soon get your hair done up just right. As you do this, you can see Mitsune and Lily lying asleep on two of the otehr beds." to you. You page, "Moriya bows to Doctor Inez. "Thank you, Inez-sensei. I suppose...well...I'll see what happens." She goes over to Mitsune's side and sits down, with a sigh. "You crazy little Fox. Look what you've done to me."" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "Mitsune snores very, very loudly." to you. You page, "Moriya frowns, and starts weaving a detox spell. One that results in rather bad hangover in its recipient, to cast on Mitsune." to Akemi. Akemi pages, "You do so. However, she's still asleep, even after a detoxing." to you. You page, "Use a Lifeforce on her to wake her up." to Akemi. Akemi pages, "Mitsune wakes up, clutching her head. "Ugh, I feel like shit."" to you. You page, "Moriya beams. "Helloooooooo, Mitsune!"" to Akemi. You page, "She grabs Mitsune's hand. "You know, we should have a slumber party sometime. You, me, your sister, Motoko too...just us girls, you know? And you can braid my hair, and I can braid yours...if you grow it out, I guess...and we can gossip all night!"" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "She rubs her eyes. "Atsuko-san, what are you doing ehre? Aren't you being held captive?"" to you. You page, "Moriya blinks. "Atsuko? You don't recognize your best friend Moriya?" She looks almost ready to cry." to Akemi. Akemi pages, "Mitsune stares in shock. her jaw drops. "What the hell..."" to you. You page, "Moriya stares back at her. Then abruptly turns around, crossing her arms. "Hmph."" to Akemi. Beowulf walks into the infirmary, in time to see Moriya's grandmother, Atsuko, standing with her back to a hung over Mitsune, who is just staring at her mindlessly, while Lily snores drunkenly on another bed. The doctor sits on another bed nearby; she's tall and blond and looks rather amused. Beowulf blinks. "Um... hello?" 'Atsuko' blinks, and turns, and smiles cheerfully. "Hello, Uncle Beowulf!" she says. Beowulf asks, "Uncle?" He blinks. "Aren't you Moriya's grandmother?" Mitsune twitches. 'Atsuko' frowns. "No, I'm Moriya. Don't you recognize me?" Mitsune boggles. "Oh man, did we give you some of the Sipping Logrus?" Beowulf says, "Who... we didn't rescue --" He stops short. "Oh. Oh, dear." Moriya tilts her head. "Sippin' Logrus?" Beowulf looks a bit suspiciously at 'Atsuko'. Family resemblence, but -- "Sippin' Logrus?" Beowulf gives Mitsune a Look. "What, exactly, would Sippin' Logrus be? Though I have an unfortunate idea already." Mitsune says, "One of the best forms of alcohol in the universe, but it's just a wee bit not fun for people who can't shapeshift to adapt to it..." Moriya then spins around and eyes Mitsune through narrowed eyes. "Are you saying there's something wrong with me?" she says. Mitsune twitches more. Beowulf sighs. "Um, Moriya... have you looked in a mirror?" Moriya looks at Beowulf. "Of course I did. I just woke up, and I had to put up my hair like this again." She points to her pinned up hairstyle--just like Atsuko's. Moriya moves around the room. Or rather, flounces about. "I wonder why I woke up here, anyway. I was in the room I'm sharing with Mitsune, last I remember." Beowulf nods. "Right. I see. It's a good thing that Sippin' Logrus didn't do anything funny to you, like turning you male or anything." Beowulf watches for the reaction to this. Mitsune says weakly, "You don't remember going on the scouting mission?" Lily snores more loudly. Snore. Snore, snore. Beowulf winces. "How much did Lily have to drink?" Moriya blinks, and shivers. "Turning me male? That would be weird." Another blink. "Of course I remember the scouting mission." Beowulf gives Mitsune the Look, trebled. Mitsune says, "We only each had maybe three glasses...but we mixed it with liquid moonlight to dilute it!" Moriya says, "Oh! I should go see how the others are doing." She flounces out. You page, "Let me be the one to interrupt Jacqueline, please? :)" to Akemi. Beowulf sighs. "Um, Moriya, could you give Mitsune and I... um, better check with the Doctor first, to make sure it didn't -- argh." Akemi pages, "We'll have to see if Travis stops you or not... :)" to you. Beowulf goes to the door. "Moriya? Could you stay here a minute, in case I need help with Lily?" Moriya calls back, "I won't be long! Just want to tell Thoric that it went okay." Beowulf says, "Thoric was trying to get some sleep; he sounded kinda tired. I'd be nice if you let him sleep a bit." Moriya doesn't answer. Perhaps already out of earshot. Beowulf sighs and closes the door, turning to Mitsune. "Right. Looks like we can't stop him... now, what happened?" He sits down next to Lily, cupping her head gently in one hand. "And how much *did* she have to drink?" The Doctor says, "Not too much. PrinceMoriya revived Mitsune with a spell or she'd be sleeping too. Probably best to let her sleep it off." Akemi pages, "That's you in the hallway." to you. Actually, it's more like someone skipping down the hallway. It stops in front of the door. "Um...Thoric?" A female voice. "It's Moriya." Jacqueline says, "powerworddefensiveluckpowerworddefensiveluck." Jacqueline blinks slowly There is a pause, and the voice seems a little heavy. "I just wanted to tell you that the scouting mission went well." Thoric pauses, stops kissing, and says, "That's great! Is everyone doing okay?" "Yes." Another pause. "And...I really am sorry about how I snapped at you earlier. Can we talk later?" Jacqueline whispers to Thoric, "Much later." Thoric says, "Sure thing, Moriya. How about tomorrow morning?" "Okay. I'll see you later, then." There is a few moments of silence, then steps moving away from the door. And then they pick up, and Moriya is apparently skipping away again. You might hear a faint, "Whee!" And then it fades. Beowulf facepalms. "...right." Beowulf. o O (Did he just snap?) You page, "Coming back to the infirmary." to Akemi. Beowulf turns to Mitsune, a crooked grin just barely turning up one corner of his mouth. "I suppose I shouldn't be surprised by any of this, especially with you involved." Mitsune looks really embarrassed. "I wouldn't have done it sober. We gave Dad some Sipping Logrus once, and he turned into an orangutang." You page, "Actually, can I pass by Mutsumi's room first? :)" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "Yes. Youhear the sound of a woman moaning and groaning happily inside." to you. You page, "Moriya slows down. "...Naru?"" to Akemi. Beowulf chuckles and shakes his head. "At least the effects aren't permanent. Poor Moriya... what *was* his initial reaction?" Mitsune says, "I can't quite remember what exactly happened when we gave it to him." As you stand by the door, Moriya, waiting for an answer, three servants in House livery and Suu walk down the hallway. The servants are carrying Motoko on a stretcher. She looks to be asleep. From inside the room, Naru says, "Yes, it's me, Naru. Just me. No one else here but us...but me!" Moriya stares. "What happened? Why is...why is Motoko unconscious? And...Suu of Alars?" Suu says, "I had a bad dream, so I came to find Big Sister, and they were giving her a bath, so I helped, and now I'm going to tuck her into bed." Moriya nods very slowly. "I...see...um." She looks very confused. Then she bends down and whispers, "And who's in there with Naru?" Motoko twitches slightly in her sleep and moans softly, then grits her teeth with determination. Her left hand twitches, rises, then falls limp. Suu asks, "Who is Naru?" Moriya straightens, shakes her head. "Well...never mind." She sighs. "I'll walk with you, I guess. What happened to Motoko, exactly?" Moriya pauses. "Oh. I'm Moriya, by the way. There was an accident, and now I've been turned into a girl." She smiles, embarrassed. "But pretend that I think I really am a girl, okay?" Suu says, "She and Anno-sama fought a big bird or something." Suu says, "Okay, big sister Moriya!" Moriya's eyes widen. "There was an attack?" Moriya smiles again, but a bit weakly. Motoko's sleeping face pulls into a brief expression of disbelief for a moment. "bgstmya...?" she mumbles; then she grits her teeth again. The servants start to unlock the door. There is a sharp shriek from inside and one of them takes a pillow to the ehad and falls down. Suu says, "Big evil fire bird." Moriya reaches over and places a hand on Motoko's shoulder, gently, looking worried. Then she looks up. "Huh?" The servant says, "It would appear there's two people screwing like weasels in here. We need to find another room." Moriya nods, and reaches in to close the door. "Sorry, Naru, and...erm. Whoever. A ha. A ha ha ha." You page, "Do I see who the other person is? :)" to Akemi. Akemi pages, "It looks rather like Keitaro to you." to you. You page, "Oh, great." to Akemi. Beowulf now comes down the hallway carrying Lily. Mitsune walks alongside him looking nervous. Down by Motoko's room, there's three servants carrying a sleeping, thrashing Motoko on a stretcher. Suu stands near them, as does Moriya. Beowulf blinks and moves over to Suu and Moriya. "Is she going to be all right?" he asks worriedly. Moriya looks up, a bit pale. "Hello," she says, rather subdued now. "There was some sort of attack, it seems. Motoko and Anno-sama fought off a firebird, it seems." Beowulf asks, "A firebird?" Suu says, "The two dark ladies had to go sleep too with their baby." Motoko hands clench into fists at her sides. She says, very clearly, "I deny you." And then she calms a little, and begins to breath easier. Beowulf asks, "Dark ladies?" Suu says, "Dark ladies. Long dark hair, dark skin, but the baby was really pale and blonde." Beowulf looks relieved as Motoko settles down. Moriya frowns, looking confused. "Strange. We should ask Motoko when she wakes up. Or perhaps Anno-sama, if he's willing." Beowulf nods. "Did you see any of them?" Suu says, "We need to find a new room for Motoko to sleep in, because Naru's in Motoko's room. Whatever a Naru is." Beowulf says, "Naru's a niece of mine, Suu." Beowulf smiles a bit at her. "It's good to see you again, even if I wish things hadn't been so crazy." One of the servants looks thoughtful. "Is there anyone in your room right now, Prince Beowulf?" Beowulf nods. "Thoric was trying to get some rest, and wanted to be left alone." Another says, "Ahh, yes, that room does have very soft beds." He says, "Oh, hmm." Beowulf shakes his head. "Please, no; he's been through a lot lately." Motoko says, "Bgsmya." Then she opens her eyes. Mitsune says, "I'd offer my room, but it's sort of a disaster zone right now. Oh, hey, Motoko-chan!" Moriya blinks, and kneels down at Motoko's side. "Are you all right?" she asks, worried. Beowulf looks at her with concern. "What happened?" Motoko stares at Moriya in shock. "Lady Atsuko?" She stares around at all the people. "My god... I slept right through it? Did I sleep through it? Davros! Where's Davros? And Anthy-sama? And--" She begins to cough weakly. Moriya quickly shakes her head. "It's me, Moriya. We haven't attacked yet. We just finished the scouting mission, actually." One of the servants says, "Anthy-sama is lying down in Anno-sama's quarters upstairs with her guests." Beowulf stands looking like he wants to lean down in concern, except his arms are full of Lily. Beowulf asks, "Grandmother Anthy's here?" The servant says, "Yes, we bathed her to get the ash and soot off, and now she's asleep." Motoko closes her eyes. "Thank the gods," she says quietly. "And the Serpent, and the Unicorn, and anything else that was involved." She frowns and concentrates for a moment, then reaches into her pocket and pulls out Daffyl's Eye. It hangs out. Motoko addresses the Eye in a somewhat wary voice. "All right. I never do _that_ again with you unless I absolutely have to." Cough, cough. It doesn't answer. Beowulf...'s. "Ash? Soot?" He sighs. "Another person we have to wait until she wakes up..." He looks even more worried, though at least relieved that she's OK. Beowulf asks, "...has it been a bad being, Motoko?" Motoko sighs and smiles weakly. "If you can find me a room that people aren't having sex in where I can lie down, I will gladly tell you the whole story." She shakes her head and almost affectionately strokes the gem. "No... no. It's been very, very good." Suu says, "Are you okay now, Big Sister?" Moriya stands up and nods. "I'll clean up my room for you." Motoko says, "Yes, Suu-chan... I'm okay now. I had to do something very difficult, and I had a bad dream while I was sleeping, but I'm all right now." Pause. "But I do wonder what you're doing here." Beowulf nods to Moriya. "Thanks, Moriya. Um... is there room to lie Lily down, too?" The servants take you all down the hallway until they find a room to open up. Suu says to Motoko, "I had a bad dream that a bad bird ate you, so I had to come make sure you were okay." Moriya blinks a few times. "Well, there's a couch in there, too...." Motoko says, softly, "It just about happened." Moriya hurries off to her room, and cleans it up with a few quick spells. The servants lay down Motoko on one bed; there's a second bed you can put Lily on. John says, "OOC Oh, right, you're going to take her to Moriya and Mitsune's room :)" Motoko sinks into the bed with a very deep sigh. "Bed. Soft. Good." You can put Lily on the couch, then. Mitsune says, "Geez, what a freaky night this has been. Well, at least no one turned into an orangutang." Beowulf gently lays Lily down on couch, makes sure she's comfortable, and turns to Motoko. "Yes. Good," he says gently. "Are you going to be OK?" Moriya sighs softly. "Rest well, Motoko. I'll talk to you later, when you're better." Motoko says, "I don't think I did myself any permanent damage. But if I did... it was probably worth it." Beowulf asks, "Or is there anything we can get for you?" Motoko says, "Something to drink would be good." Beowulf nods. "Anything in particular?" Motoko says, "Water is fine." Motoko props herself up in bed a little. One of the servants goes to get you a glass of water and soon returns. Suu sits on the bed by Motoko. "Was it a scary fight?" Motoko nods. "It was very scary. But we won. Or so it seems... I passed out right at the end." Beowulf asks, "They said Grandmother Anthy was upstairs, and would be all right; who else was there?" Motoko looks around the room at the servants. "Thank you very much for your help," she says quietly. "But I'd like to talk with my family and friends about this in privacy." Suu says, "There were two dark ladies and their little blond baby, who kept trying to get inside the second lady's clothing." Motoko sits up a little more and sips her water. The servants nod. "Yes, ma'am." They bow and depart. Beowulf squats beside the bed, to about Suu's head level, so Motoko doesn't have to look up. Motoko looks around at the others once they're gone. "You all know how I went to the World of the Dead in a dream a while ago, right?" Moriya twitches slightly at that. Mitsune nods. "Yes." Beowulf nods. "Yes. And then I ended up following Grandmother Anthy up into Tir'na'nog, where she apparently went there." Motoko says, "Anthy-sama went to Tir'na'nog to try and save Dios-sama, who I'd met and travelled with for a little while in my--" She laughs softly. "Well, I suppose it wasn't a dream after all." Beowulf smiles a bit. "It doesn't sound like it." Motoko says, "I told Anno-sama about it--" She looks rather ashamed. "I should have told him earlier, but I told him today. And we pushed a trump connection through to Anthy-sama, who was... in somewhere very dark, with Dios-sama and... my grandmother. Well, not my grandmother, but that world's version of my grandmother, only she's just a little baby. It's sort of complicated." Moriya only nods silently. Suu says, "You turned your grandmother into a baby?" Mitsune's eyes widen. "Your grandmother is going to freak." Motoko shakes her head. "No... it's hard to explain." She winces slightly and nods to Mitsune. "Yes. Yes she is." She sighs. "We pushed through and began to pull them out, and then the Dark Phoenix came..." Beowulf nods, with a combination of sadness and guilt. "I... she'd said she was going to be back in a week, so I was giving her that week before I panicked. And then the Serpent's Horn came up... but I should have told Great-Grandfather." Beowulf says, "The... Dark Phoenix." Motoko says, "She was very terrible. Full of rage and death. Flames shot through with black. Eyes like the void of space." She shudders. "She was trying to come through, and the room was full of fire, and Anno-sama pulled them through... but the trump connection wouldn't close." Beowulf murmurs quietly, "Oh... shit." Motoko says, "I'd been using Daffyl's Eye to boost our trump connection, help lower the barriers between the worlds... it was starting to strain me. Time was slowing done. But she was coming through, and so I... pushed a little more, and threw up a barrier to hold her out. And Anno-sama did the same with the Logrus. And then I passed out." She sighs and closes her eyes. "But it looks as though everything ended up all right." Beowulf nods. "It looks like it, since we're not all burning up now." Suu says, "Fire is very bad. Did you stop, drop, and roll?" Beowulf takes Motoko's hand and squeezes it gently. "Thank you for rescuing Grandmother." Motoko laughs. "No, I just sort of fell down." She tries to squeeze back, but can't manage. "I hope they're all all right." She settles back against the pillows. "I... this is all very unexpected." Mitsune nods. "Yeah. It's been kind of a night for surprises." Beowulf says, "They said Grandmother was resting upstairs, after they washed the ash and soot off; it sounds like she's all right. And I doubt anything could kill Great-Grandfather." He smiles a bit. Motoko glances at Mitsune. "Yes, it is." Pause. "Err... why is Moriya a woman again?" Moriya stares blankly at Motoko for a few seconds. "What do you mean, why am I a woman again?" Beowulf makes covert 'hush, we'll talk about it later' gestures to Motoko. Mitsune asks, "Again?" Motoko asks, "I mean, I'm sure someone told me why, but..." She scratches her head and closes her eyes. "How did the scouting go?" Beowulf says, "It went pretty well. Though I accidentally hit Yumi-san with knockout liquid." He looks embarrassed. Moriya says, "We've gotten a layout of Daffyl's shadow and the castle they've built around his tower, which is where the prisoners no doubt were." Moriya recounts the events of the mission. Motoko says, "I'm glad it all went well." Motoko glances at Suu when Moriya is finished. "Suu-chan, does your mother know you came here?" Suu says, "Umm...no." Beowulf smiles gently at Suu. "Well, it's good to see you, anyway. How have you been doing?" Motoko sighs. "Then she's probably very, very worried about you." She glances around. "Can someone get in touch with Lady Kodachi and tell her Suu is all right?" Beowulf looks a bit uncertain, but nods. "I've been meaning to talk to her anyway. Do you have a trump for her?" Motoko shakes her head. "Uncle Miki should, or he should be able to sketch you one." Suu says, "I think Mommy's probably in bed asleep now." Mitsune nods. "I'll go tell Prince Miki, then." She runs off. Motoko sighs. "What time is it? I'm not sure how long I slept." Beowulf asks, "Did you sneak out after you were supposed to be in bed, Suu?" Suu says, "Yes." Suu says, "IT's after bedtime." Moriya shakes her head, tsking. "You shouldn't do such things, Suu-chan." Beowulf sighs. "Yes... then she'll be worried about you when she wakes up and you're not there." Suu says, "Mommy gets mad if I sleep in her bed, so she won't expect to see me when she wakes up." Beowulf says, "OOC About what time *is* it? o.o" John says, "OOC It's about 10-11 PM" Motoko asks, "Have you had any other dreams like the one you had tonight, Suu-chan?" Suu says, "Sometimes, yeah." Motoko says, "Even though you shouldn't sneak out of bed like that, I'm glad you're here." She hugs Suu very tightly. Suu hugs Motoko back. "I'm just glad you're okay." Beowulf nods. "Being there people is always a good thing, Suu. Even if you get in trouble for it later." He smiles a bit, impishly. Beowulf says, "Someone should still go and let your family know you're all right, though. I'll go to their front door, though, so I don't... um... wake her up." Motoko says, "I still don't understand why Moriya is female, but other than that, things seem to be okay." She glances at Beowulf. "Mitsune already went to tell Uncle Miki; I think he'll handle it." Moriya blinks again and crosses her arms. "What's that supposed to mean?" Beowulf nods. "All right, then." He looks over at Motoko. "Do you mind if I stay here until Lily wakes up?" Lily snores loudly. Motoko smiles. "Not at all, although I suspect I may fall asleep again at some point. I wish I could go see Anno-sama and find out how Anthy-sama and the others are doing, but right now, I'm not even sure I could get out of this bed." Beowulf sits on the floor and leans back against the couch, by Lily's head, and gently takes one of her hands. Moriya nods, and looks around. "We should go and let them get some rest." Beowulf says, "It sounded like they were both tired and were trying to get some rest to recover; I suspect as soon as they're up and around, one of them will check in on you." Suu says, "I can stay with you, right?" Motoko says, "We'll have to see what happens once Mitsune-chan gets back from talking to Uncle Miki, but I don't mind you staying." Motoko says, "Some of my relatives you haven't met before are also here, like Mutsumi-chan, and--" She freezes briefly. "You'd probably really like Mutsumi-chan." Mitsune now returns. "Uncle Miki said he called her mother and it's okay if she just goes ahead and sleeps here tonight so she can come back for her spanking in the morning." Beowulf smiles. "She's like the sister I never had, Suu. She loves turtles." Motoko sighs, then looks resigned and fumbles for her trump deck. "If I don't talk with Anno-sama, I won't be able to sleep for wondering what happened after I passed out. Pardon me a moment." Motoko trumps Anno. Anno takes the call. "Hello." Suu says, "Cool. Turtles are really neat!" Beowulf says, "She's a really neat lady." He grins back at her. Moriya OOCly says, "I should probably call it a night soon." Moriya OOCly says, "I've got a lot of logging to edit. o.o" Motoko says, "OOC: As should I. I meant to be in bed an hour ago, but the new developments kept me up." Moriya OOCly says, "We can continue Moriya-chan's Adventures in Gainaxland later." John says, "OOC Yep. Gonna wrap up the talk with Anno and go to bed." ------------------------------------------------------------ Logging Stopped: 09/19/2001 at 2:08:17 ************************************************************ ************************************************************ Logging Started: 09/20/2001 at 0:20:04 ------------------------------------------------------------ More footsteps from the hallway. Motoko says, "Oh, Moriya's a woman. Don't be surprised. He apparently thinks it's his natural state." Jacqueline, seemingly distracted by something, utterly fails to hear this. Motoko says, faintly, "It was a very interesting night for everyone, it seems." And a red-headed woman wearing Moriya's clothing pops in, carrying a tray of muffins. "Good morning! Moriya-chan brought breakfast for everyone!" Bright, cheerful smile. Suu grabs a muffin. "MUFFIN!" Mutsumi says, "Thanks!" Jacqueline elbows Moonshade and grins. "You go, girl." Motoko says, "I will happily have a muffin if I'm not required to get out of bed to get it." Beowulf gives a slight, resigned I-might-as-well-give-in smile. "Good morning, Moriya-chan." Moriya-chan zips between all the people, offering muffins. Thoric takes a muffin. Lily grabs one as well. Motoko takes a muffin and eats it slowly and methodically. Beowulf takes one as well... when did Lily wake up? o.o Mitsune limps into the room, looking like she's been beaten with a stick figuratively. "Heyo." Jacqueline wags her eyebrows at Moonshade for no discernable reason. Motoko says, "Good morning, Mitsune-chan." Moriya-chan says, "Mitsune-chan! Good, you're up. Have a muffin." Mitsune takes a muffin. "Bad morning, everyone." Moonshade pats Mitsune on the shoulder. "Bad night?" Beowulf raises an eyebrow at Mitsune's entrance, ready to toss another acerbic look her way, but refrains when he sees her condition. "You all right, Mitsune?" Motoko says, "If Naru is out of my room, I think I would like to change my clothes." Sniff, sniff. "These ones still smell like smoke." Zip. "Good morning, Jacqui-chan! Muffin?" Jacqueline lets go of Moonshade's hand and rejoins the regular world. Having failed to hear the conversation earlier due to being in psychic conversation, she has no idea who the person with the breakfast pastries is. "Um..... do I know you?" Jacqueline asks, "and... aheh... heh... my name is ANGIE, see? Nametag?" Moriya-chan stares blankly. Then looks at the nametag. "Oh. Sorry." Jacqueline asks, "and you are?" Moriya-chan says, "Muffin, Angie-san? Oh, and I'm Moriya!" Beam. Jacqueline blinks Jacqueline blinks again Suu says, "Jacqui? Where's Jacqui?" she sounds terrified. Motoko swings her legs out of bed, still working on her muffin. "Does anyone know if Naru is out of my room?" Jacqueline looks at Mitsune with a ?!?!?!? expression. Thoric says, "Not a clue." Jacqueline says, "I... I... I'll go and check now... yes. I think I need the walk." Mitsune just sort of looks at Jacqui with the look of a broken woman. Motoko blanches slightly and kneels down to put an arm around Suu's shoulders. "If Jacqui were here, she wouldn't hurt you," she says softly. "She's not a bad person." Jacqueline gives Mitsune a 'You did something, didn't you' look before quickly departing the room and heading for Naru's Lily looks over at Mitsune. "Are you okay?" Mitsune shakes Lily. "This is your fault! You've unleashed a monster! We're all dooomed!" Moriya-chan looks around, and then, suddenly, like a switch was thrown, the manic grin on her face is replaced with a faint smile more reminiscent of the real Moriya. "Something wrong, Mitsune?" Motoko rubs at her eyes with one fist. "Does anyone know if Anthy-sama is awake?" Thoric says, "Not a clue." Suu says, "But Jacqui eats the flesh of the living for breakfast!" There are the sound of footsteps in the hallway. Motoko looks at Thoric with a look that says she knew perfectly well that he didn't have a clue about anything outside of his threesome. Beowulf supports Lily with an arm and grabs Mitsune's shoulder with the other. "Hey, Mitsune! What's happened?" Lily gets shaken, not stirred. Thoric blushes just a bit. Motoko shakes her head at Suu. "No. Jacqui isn't like that. She's just... well, she doesn't eat the flesh of the living." There is a Knocking on the Door. Motoko exclaims, "Come in! Everyone else has already!" Moriya-chan puts the tray down, and goes over to separate Mitsune from Lily. "All right, stop that, Mitsune." The door opens, revealing a somewhat puzzled-looking Kanna. "... oooohkay. So -this- is where everybody ended up instead of the breakfast table. Moriya-chan glances over her shoulder. "Ah. Good morning, Aunt Kanna." Motoko says, "Good morning, Aunt Kanna." Beowulf looks up at Kanna, a little blearily. "Ah. Kanna... good morning. That about completes the set, I suppose." Mitsune just sort ot stares at Moriya mindlessly. Lily . o O (This is going to be one of those days.) Kanna blinks at Moriya-chan. At fried Motoko. At blitzed Mitsune. At bleary Beowulf. At the girl whom she doesn't recognize at all. Motoko says, "Well, I'll be _out_ of here as soon as I know people aren't using my room for other activities." Kanna asks, "Ah... should I come back later?" Moriya-chan says, "I imagine we'll be down at the breakfast table soon enough." Suu looks at Kanna. "Hi, big lady!" Motoko says, "No, no, stay! Introductions!" Flails hands. "Aunt Kanna, this is Suu-chan. Suu-chan, this is my aunt, Kanna. She's my mother's sister, only not. Sort of. It's complicated." Kanna nods. "I already ate most of mine, but... hey there, little girl..." She smiles down at Suu, and then crouches down to get to eye-level. "My name's Kanna. You're... Suu?" Beowulf struggles to his feet, trying to pull Lily up with him, if he's got enough balance yet at this time in the morning to pull this off. "It was a busy night, and apparently a rather populated morning." Lily staggers to her feet. "I'd better go take a bath and change into fresh clothing." Motoko smiles at Lily, as sweet as a particularly bitter cookie. "I'd like to do that too, as soon as I know whether or not Naru is out of my room." Motoko says, "Where all my clothing that doesn't reek of smoke is, you know." Kanna glances up at Bey and Lily. "I can somewhat see that. The details can wait, though -- I must've slept through the entire thing of... whatever went on." Suu nods. "My mommy is Lady Kodachi of Alars, and my daddy has gone to live with the Serpent." She looks very unhappy for a moment, then perks up. "Can you shapeshift?" Beowulf says, "I'll make sure you don't trip along the way." He looks is if he very much wants to ask her some questions about her side of what happened last night... Lily says, "You might find out faster if you go check your room." She says, "As it's unlikely to come walking down the hallway and inform you if it's empty." Beowulf says, "I think someone went to check... but we could probably hurry her along the way." Motoko asks, "Ahh, good idea." Motoko begins to stride off, then pauses. "Suu-chan, do you want to stay here with all my crazy relatives, or come with me?" Moriya-chan looks around briefly, then grabs Mitsune by the hand. "Hmm. Need to talk to you for a moment." And she pulls her out the door, and down the hallway. Suu says, "I'll come with you, okay?" Kanna mmmms, and squeezes Suu's shoulder gently with one of her free hands. "I'm sure the Serpent's taking good care of your father, Suu." She smiles, sadly, and then shakes her head. "I can't shapeshift... but my Uncle can... and I can draw things." Motoko says, "All right." Motoko takes Suu's hand and heads off to her rooms. He leads Lily out of the room as well. Kanna watches Suu head off. She then raises her eyebrows at Bey's statement to Lily. "... oookay." Beowulf asks, "Want to come along, and I'll explain along the way?" Rod has left. Kanna also watches Moriya-Chan and Mitsune depart... and then nods. "Sure, Bey... was planning to hoook up with you anyway early before we got down to planning business." Beowulf nods, slowly. "Right. Revival time. Clean up. Explain. Ergl." Kanna chuckles a bit, and pats Beowulf on the shoulder. "You and Lily look like you've been on the emotiional spin dry cycle. Nevermind the rest..." She shakes her head. "And who was that redheaded woman in Moriya's clothes?" Beowulf, Lily, and Kanna head off down the hallway. Beowulf says, "Um... Moriya." He looks resignedly at Lily. Kanna blinks. Kanna blinks again. Beowulf says, "I'm not sure of the full story, but Mitsune and Lily were apparently..." He searches for a word, then decides the hell with it. "...drunk. Moriya came looking for Mitsune, and one of them gave him some Sippin' Logrus." Kanna pauses, hauls open her Gi top, and checks that she does, indeed, have a pair of breasts there. She then checks the waistband of her tights, confirming that she has panties on. Kanna says, "Well, -I've- got all my parts in all the right places, so either A) Moriya's part-chaos blood decided to kick in to let him get in touch with his feminine side, B) We've now got assistance from a gender-reversed Full Amber Universe, or C) I've been catapulted across dimensions to some place where everything seems the same on first glance, but is in actuality irrevocably slightly off-kilter." Kanna says, "Any which has its own set of assumptions which are just TOO scary for me to contemplate." Beowulf says, "Which turned him into a woman." Kanna says, "Okay, that would be option D), then." Beowulf says, "...right." And avoids making the joke that associating with Lily has lead him to think of. Beowulf says, "Let's see... and Motoko and great-grandfather managed to rescue grandmother, King Dios, and the baby Nanami from Hel's universe. And nearly got burned to ashes by what I'm guessing is the corrupted version of the Phoenix from that universe." Kanna says, "urgl... rescue good. getting nearly burned to ashes bad." Beowulf nods. "Yes. I owe Motoko... quite a bit. I was almost certain we'd have to organize a rescue party for Grandmother as soon as we got back to Amber from this." Kanna says, "Makes sense though, if Phoenix is doing the patrol-the-borders thing for -our- universe..." She nods. "Yeah. Better inform mom of this level of development, which was part of why I was coming to see you, Bey." She smiles faintly. Beowulf sighs. "And Suu showed up last, which now has Jacqui twitching... especially since she came to visit Mutsumi when she couldn't wake up Motoko." Kanna asks, "Ahhhh. That explains 'Angie' in the room?" Beowulf says, "And found apparently found... um. Yes." He looks a bit uncomfortable. Kanna raises an eyebrow, curious but not pressing. Beowulf says, "Ahhh... you'll need to ask her about it." Beowulf blushes a bit. Kanna nods. "I just might, at that." Beowulf says, "Other than that, and, well..." He looks a bit boggled himself, trying to sort out all the various things that happened. Kanna pats bey on the shoulder again. "You two go get changed, sort things out, and I'll wait outside for you?" She quirks a smile. Beowulf smiles. "Yes. Hot shower, hot tea, and I might even be considered human. I hate mornings." Kanna chuckles softly. Lily says, "I'm ready to go DIE." Beowulf looks over at Lily and winces. "Hangover?" Kanna says, "Now now, no dying on my watch. Being exceptionally hungover or fed through a cheese grater... that tends to slip by." Beowulf sighs and gently holds her in his arms, all desire to ask pointed questions draining away. "It's all right, Lily, I'm here." Kanna looks sheepish, and shuts up. "I'll.. um.. wait out here, then. You two take all the time you need." Beowulf raises an eyebrow helplessly at Kanna. "I'm sorry... I'll try to make it quick." You hear the sound of people approaching. Beowulf looks up to see who's coming, still holding Lily. Kanna looks the direction of approaching people. Moriya and Mitsune are approaching. Moriya-chan seems much calmer than before. More like how...he is normally, at least in demeanor, if not appearance. Kanna ahs, and waves to Moriya and Mitsune as they come up. "Hey there..." Moriya-chan says, "Good morning." Beowulf smiles crookedly. "Hello again... we were just going to get cleaned up and dressed. Could you fill Kanna in on what's been happening?" Kanna quirks a slight smile. "I seem to have slept through all the excitement of last night." Beowulf says, "Er, Lily and I were going to get cleaned up." Moriya-chan nods. "Well, there was, apparently, an accident involving a drink called Sippin' Logrus. It's turned me into a woman, unfortunately, and I won't be able to change back until two days from now." Moriya-chan is really quite calm as she talks about this. Kanna says, "Ah... hah." She hrms, and nods. She tilts her head thoughtfully. "Well, for what it's worth, the look works well on you... not planning to fast-time the two days to get changed back? It's make a heck of a disguise." Moriya-chan says, "Exactly. Not only are the Serpent's Horn expecting a man named Moriya facing them, they are expecting Hisame Atsuko to be one of their prisoners, instead of fighting against them." She pushes her hair up into something that approximates her grandmother's hairstyle for the effect. "Like so." Kanna hrmmms, and nods, tapping her chin with her fingertips. "Yeah, it definitely heightens the resemblence." Kanna says, "You think you'll need a little more sparring practice to get used to the different body?" She quirks a grin. Moriya-chan says, "Actually, yes. I've been moving around a lot to get used to the, ah, different balance of this body." Beowulf gently picks up Lily and carries her off to his room. Moriya-chan tilts her head. "In fact, I should probably spar with Moonshade as well as you, since I've already promised her that I'd do so." Beowulf says, "We can clean up in the bag, Lily-chan, there's a very nice whirlpool tub there..." His voice trails off as they walk away. Kanna chuckles, and nods, leaning against the wall, waving to Bey and Lily as they go into their room. "Sounds like a plan. I'll admit, growing up, things were interesting as my center of balance changed, which affected my training with Cousin Ramon and my sword-practice with Aunt Utena. Took a while to get used to. But I've got confidence you'll adjust to the differences soon enough." Moriya-chan looks down at herself. "I may need to borrow some bindings from Motoko, or something. I'm bouncing around too much like this." Kanna tries not to grin. Really, she tries. "Either that, or get a good sport bra." Mitsune says, "I can loan you a bra." Moriya-chan thinks about this. "I think," she says, slowly, "that putting on a bra is a step that I'm not quite yet ready for." Kanna says, "Suit yourself." Mitsune says, "I promise it won't permanently meld with your flesh mutating you." Kanna says, "Be glad you won't ever have to go near a corset, Moriya." She shudders. Moriya-chan's brow furrows. "A corset?" Moriya-chan shakes her head and shrugs. "Well...if you've got a plain, functional sportsbra that would fit me, Mitsune, I guess I'll borrow one." Kanna says, "The... precursor to the Bra. Kinda a mutant combination of chest and abodomen binding, and..." she gestures to her waist-to-chest area. "-Ghastly- things. I tried wearing one once... ONCE...." She shakes her head again. "I pondered finding the inventor out in shadow and..." She says, "You don't want one that converses in swahili and balances yoru checkbook while being decorated with rubies and made of golden thread, then?" Moriya-chan nods slowly. "Ah," she says, to Kanna. Kanna says, "But you don't need to hear my horror stories. Believe me, bras are more comfortable." Moriya-chan says, "I'm afraid not, Mitsune." Kanna says, "No thank you, Mitsune." Kanna says, "And what's this about King Dios having shown up?" Her brow furrows. Mitsune says, "Apparently, he was like the lone survivor in Hel's universe, and Motoko rescued him last night or something." Moriya-chan shakes her head. "That's a question for Motoko or Anno-sama, I think." Kanna ahs, and nods. "Right. Well... you two get settled too, and I'll wait?" She looks rueful. Mitsune says, "Oh, I'm all cleaned up and ready for breakfast. More or less." Moriya-chan nods. "We'll see you in the meeting room shortly." Kanna nods. "I'll just wait for Bey and Lily to get out and ready, then." Moriya-chan waves, and drags Mitsune away. "Okay, I need to borrow some supportive clothing from you, and then we can go meet up with everyone...." Mitsune says, "Oh, okay. See you in a little while, Kanna!" Kanna exclaims, "Later, you two!" ------------------------------------------------------------ Logging Stopped: 09/20/2001 at 1:26:57 ************************************************************ ************************************************************ Logging Started: 09/20/2001 at 20:33:34 ------------------------------------------------------------ John says, "OOC Hmm, he's at the baths...well, since you're unlikely to kill him, we'll slide this in before he went to the baths, so you don't have to wait for Rod to return just to talk to Thoric :)" Moriya-chan OOCly laughs. Right. You find Thoric in his room, putting together a bundle to take to the baths. Moriya-chan knocks on the doorframe. "Good morning again, Thoric," she says. "Good morning, Moriya," Thoric says. "How are you?" Moriya-chan says, "Doing well, considering the circumstances." Moriya-chan says, "Although I am still getting used to the slightly different balance of this body." Thoric says, "Better than being turned into a doll." He shudders. "Never go shopping with Beowulf. Ever." Moriya-chan nods. "I'll remember that. May I come in?" He nods. "Sure thing." He lets you into the room. Akemi pages, "The room smells just a bit funky." to you. Moriya-chan enters and takes a seat. "I'm sorry about yesterday morning," she starts, then frowns and sniffs the air. "There's something odd in the air here." He sits down on a chair. "I'd heard that Sipping Logrus was potent, but I didn't realize it was that potent." Moriya-chan says, "I'd never heard of sippin' Logrus until yesterday, myself." Thoric begins casting a spell. "I'd better air it out," he says. Moriya-chan nods and lets him cast the spell. The room soon becomes minty fresh. Thoric says, "So, have you been enjoying your time down in Chaos?" Moriya-chan quietly says, "It's been quite an eye-opener, I have to say." Moriya-chan says, "A lot's happened. I've become a Chaosian religious figure, fought Outsiders and their minions, tangled with Chaosian Houses, allied with others...." Thoric says, "Man, sounds like you've been really busy. But you never did track down who actually killed Uncle Ota, did you?" Moriya-chan shakes her head. "It wasn't Loewen, thank the Unicorn and the Serpent. Going up against him would have been incredibly difficult; having him as an ally is a huge asset. We know that Taylor was in some measure behind Uncle Ota's death, but we don't know whether or not there were forces in Chaos helping him." Thoric nods. "There's some reason to believe that the real Taylor is dead, right, and there's nothing left but the blood creatures?" Moriya-chan says, "Yes. Among other things, Patternwalking toward the real Taylor leads you nowhere." Thoric nods. "Well, I suppose we may never entirely know the truth of what happened." Moriya-chan says, "Unfortunately so. But we can still try. There are blood Taylors in Chaos, we think; hopefully, we'll be able to go track them down once more immediate business is taken care of." Moriya-chan stands up suddenly, and walks over to in front of the dresser, looking at herself in the mirror. Thoric nods. "I have yet to encounter any of the Taylors myself." He continues, "I guess I don't amuse them." Thoric says, "I'd have thought you'd look more like your mother if you turned female." "Not that I generally think much about such things." Moriya-chan murmurs, "You're lucky, I suppose." She takes the metal band out of her hair that keeps it in a ponytail, and slowly starts putting her hair up again. "I suppose I take more after my father's side of the family in physical appearance." Thoric says, "True. You've got the build and the red hair, and you look more like your grandfather than your father when you're male, so I guess it makes sense." Moriya-chan finishes putting the pins in place, and nods. "I suppose so." Moriya-chan says, "I'm trying to think of how to use this to our advantage, as my grandmother is supposed to be inside their prison, not coming to attack. They'll likely figure it out very quickly, but anything could help." Thoric says, "I doubt they'll think that it's you specifically, though they may figure out the deception." Moriya-chan says, "Yes. At the very least, they'll be expecting a red-headed man named Moriya, not a woman." Moriya-chan pauses. "I just wonder...what my grandmother will think when her twin comes to rescue her." Thoric says, "She'll probably think it's a shadow of her." Thoric says, "That's what I would tend to think if another Thoric walked in and saved me from something. Inbetween bouts of feeling embarrassed." Moriya-chan nods. "In light of that, then, I'm a little worried about what she'll think when she finds out it's really me. Her new granddaughter." Thoric says, "Well, it's going to wear off in a few days, right? She may be somewhat surprised, but she's seen wierder stuff than that at Mom's house." He continues, "Like when Alexander tried to take up fire eating." He shudders. "THAT was a disaster." Moriya-chan chuckles softly. "That's true enough. Just a bit of surreality piled on top of all the other things." She turns slightly. "Fire-eating? That must have been a sight." Thoric says, "It was impressive in a train-wreck sort of way, and then he dropped the torches, and the living room went up in flames, and it was a big mess." Moriya-chan laughs, then falls silent for a little while. "We'll rescue them, Thoric. Your mother, your grandfather, my grandmother, Davros. And we'll bring justice for your father." Thoric sighs. "I hope so. I just want to know one way or another how it's going to come out." Moriya-chan smiles faintly. "Unfortunately, we never know until it's over." Thoric says, "The waiting is the worst part. I was just readyt o bounce off the walls yesterday, waiting for you guys, but I feel better now." Moriya-chan nods. "You do seem to be in a better mood now. I'm glad." Thoric says, "I just hope Naru's calmed down. She got really mad yesterday when she found out about Keitaro and Shinobu hooking up." Moriya-chan blinks slowly. "She hadn't found out until now?" She twitches. "I'm glad I wasn't there for that." Thoric says, "She went off with Beowulf to Leng about the same time things were going down in Akasha with Shinobu and Keitaro." Moriya-chan says, "Yes, I suppose that would delay things. But still...." She shakes her head. "Again, I'm glad I wasn't caught in the crossfire or anything." Then she blinks a few times, remembering something. Thoric nods. "Motoko and I had to stop her smashing up some furniture, and then Mutsumi took her off to talk to her." He shakes his head. "Mutsumi wasn't very happy about it either, but she's not the violent type." Moriya-chan sighs. "I don't imagine she was happy, no. I knew this was going to end in someone getting hurt, but...that's how it goes, doesn't it? I just hope that she does find someone who can make her happy." Thoric blushes. "She deserves happiness." Moriya-chan says, "Indeed she does." Moriya-chan glances over at Thoric again. "Well, I don't want to hold you up from your bath, especially if we're going to be meeting soon to plan." Thoric nods. "Alright. I'll see you later." He gets up and goes to bathe. ------------------------------------------------------------ Logging Stopped: 09/20/2001 at 21:43:31 ************************************************************ ************************************************************ Logging Started: 09/22/2001 at 0:24:15 ------------------------------------------------------------ Moriya-chan OOCly says, "I suppose Moriya and Moonshade will be facing off in one of Gainax's gyms, then." John says, "OOC Yep." Moriya-chan chooses a bokken to fight with. "What do you wish to use, Moonshade?" Moonshade gets a bokken as well. "Might as well use this." Moriya-chan nods, then bows to her, and takes up a battle stance. Moonshade bows back, then charges, sword held high, clearly going for an upper body shot. Moriya-chan leans out of the way and tries to strike at her leg as she moves past. As Moriya-chan begins to move, Moonshade pushes and leaps high into the air. The blow at her legs misses. She lands and spins, spitting in the face of concepts like inertia. But Moriya-chan successfully anticipates this once Moonshade begins to jump, and brings her sword up smoothly to parry, turning on one foot. Moonshade then backflips out of reach, and pauses to think of plan #2. Moriya-chan does not pause to let her think, but immediately charges forward. Akemi pages, "And the plan is?" to you. You page, "Hmm. Will rush forward, looking like I'm about to strike, but stop abruptly just out of reach, and see what she does." to Akemi. You page, "If she swings at me, whether to parry or to counter, strike the backside of the sword, just like I did with Kanna's staff, to add to her momentum, and go for a followup shot." to Akemi. Moriya-chan rushes forward, then suddenly comes to a halt, causing Moonshade's counter-blow at leg level to miss. She reaches out with her bokken and 'helps' the sword along, then brings her sword up to thwack Moonshade in her chest and chin. The top button of her shirt pops off. Then Moonshade lunges forward, aiming a haymaker at Moriya-chan's chin. Akemi pages, "Whatcha going to do?" to you. You page, "Try to dodge as close to her sword as possible, to let her get closer in order to hit her, before jumping away." to Akemi. Akemi pages, "Let me clarify; she's aiming a punch with her left hand; ATM, your sword is basically up inthe air over her after the blow; her sword is off to her right (your left)" to you. You page, "Ahh." to Akemi. Akemi pages, "You going to keep the same plan or change?" to you. You page, "Try to dodge her punch, parry with the sword if it's necessary, while moving as little as possible. Such as bending backward slightly, rather than leaping out of the way. Get a hit in, then slip past her, to move around behind." to Akemi. Moriya-chan tries to dodge the punch. She's about as successful at this as the Belgians were at stopping German invasions in the 20th century. She takes it on the chin, then basically becomes airborne Moriya-chan, flying out of control across the room, then slams down into the ground. She rolls to her feet, even as Moonshade is charging after her, her bokken slashing the air in an x like pattern as she runs forward. Akemi pages, "You'd estimate Moonshade is just a sliver weaker than Kanna, but is pretty close to you in sword skills. Not quite as good, but pretty close." to you. You page, "Use my aikijutsu skill as much as I can. Use her force against her as much as I can, trip her up, throw her off balance." to Akemi. You page, "More of that move I did earlier, with hitting the backside of her sword. With kicks and punches, too, I guess." to Akemi. You page, "Oh...and at a break in the fighting, Moriya's going to step back and ask if Power Words will be allowed or not. :)" to Akemi. Moriya-chan parries one thrust, then helps the second one along again, making Moonshade look pretty frustrated . She then attempts to follow up with an impressive lookign move to use the force of Moonshade's force against her by tripping her and using her own free hand to help Moonshade fall. Unfortunately, as she falls, Moonshade somehow grabs her leg, and uses Moriya-chan as a pivot to bring her own legs up in the air to kick Moriya-chan in the head, sending her sprawling. She then rolls to her feet, even as Moriya-chan comes to her feet. Moriya-chan shakes her head to clear it. "Mmmph. You're quite good, Moonshade." She straightens slightly. "Are we allowing Power Words in this match?" Moonshade says, "No magic." Moriya-chan sighs. "Right." She says, "I ain't got no magic, and if we have magic, I'll just lose. So no magic." You page, "Well, keep my distance as much as I can. Go for quick, light strikes." to Akemi. Moonshade now begins to press Moriya-chan hard. Moriya-chan is able to keep out of her reach, and lands several quick blows against Moonshade, but she's quickly running out of room to retreat. You page, "Do another set of feint moves to circle around to more open space." to Akemi. Moriya-chan unleashes a series of blows off to one side, then as Moonshade's attention is drawn to that side, she successfully slips past the other side of Moonshade to get more room to move. Unfortunately, Moonshade manages to spin a complete circle at blinding speed and bring her bokken around to crack Moriya-chan a solid blow on the ribs, which sends her sprawling. Which isn't entirely bad, as it sends her away from Moonshade and she manages to keep her grip on her sword. But now she's starting to feel a bit wobbly, while Moonshade seems ready to take a beating all day long. She's up on her feet again by the time Moonshade reorients herself and pulls out of her spin. Moriya-chan frowns. "I think, without my magic, you'd beat me eventually." Moonshade says, "I am indeed a bad-ass." She grins. "You wanna stop, then?" Moriya-chan chuckles. "Yes. We do have to go to the planning meeting soon, after all." She pauses, and snaps off a neural disrupt at Moonshade. Moonshade staggers for a moment, then proceeds to whip her bokken around. The bokken cracks into the side of your head. Your vision doubles for a moment, and when it clears, she has you by the throat and is holding you up in the air. "Yeah, yeah, you got magic, and my magical defenses suck. But I don't like people who take fucking cheap shots after the fight is over. Do you UNDERSTAND?" Moriya-chan says, "..." Moriya-chan says, "That...was...meant to be...a...urgh." Moriya-chan says, "No...offense...intended...." Moonshade says, "If I punched you in the nose after the fight was over and told you it was a warning that you need to work out and get stronger so that people can't punch you around like this, would you consider that a fair warning?" Moriya-chan says, "Wanted...to show you...what even...power words...could do." Moonshade says, "I know damn well what they can do! That's why I didn't want any magic!" Moriya-chan says, "Sorry...very sorry...I approached it...the wrong way." She puts you down. "You're a damn good swordsman, but pulling that kinda shit's a good way to get yourself maimed by someone not as kind as I am." Moriya-chan gasps for breath. Moriya-chan holds her head. "I'm sorry, Moonshade. I don't know why I decided to do that." Moonshade . o O (Sore Loser) Moonshade says, "Ahh, don't worry about it. A good fight can be relaxing, but sometimes it gets you worked up where you do stuff ya shouldn't." Moriya-chan bows low. "Damn. I'm sorry. Ugh." Moonshade bows. "Let's go hear the masterplan, then." Moriya-chan straightens up, wobbling slightly. Moriya-chan walks along behind Moonshade. "I suppose...what I was trying to suggest is that you go and pick up some magic. Although I should have said so before demonstrating." Moriya-chan says, "What I just used is something that my father taught me, and he is hardly a mage. A simple power word is useful for sorceror and fighter alike." Moonshade says, "I'd rather stick to what I do well, than do magic and be mediocre at it." She continues, "Although Mom was always badgering me to pick it up." Moriya-chan nods. "Whether it's full sorcery or, as I said, simple power words, even a little magic can severely raise your advantage over your enemy. When I was fighting off the Serpent's Horn incursion at Tremere, I was fighting one person, when I felt someone else start to attack my mind." Moriya-chan says, "I used magic--a fire spell--to finish off the person I was fighting so that I could turn my attention to the other person. If I hadn't had that, it would have been much more difficult to fight off both." Moriya-chan says, "I'm not nearly as good at it as, for instance, Motoko, or your sister, but it's helped me. A lot." Moonshade nods. "Well, it's just not my thing. And I wouldn't want to muscle in on Jacqui's territory." Moriya-chan chuckles softly. "I didn't think it would be my thing either, until Aunt Hiko persuaded me to try it. As for Jacqueline, I think she'd be happy if her sister shared another interest with her. Anyway, that's just my piece of advice. Which I should have said, rather than demonstrated." She rubs her head. "That was really stupid of me." She makes a dismissive gesture. "Don't beat yourself up about it." Moriya-chan nods, a bit reluctantly. "Well...all right." Moriya-chan pauses. "Wait, you do have Pattern. Have you, at least, learned how to use Pattern Defense?" Moonshade says, "Yes. I took a crash course and learned all the basic stuff." Moriya-chan nods. "Good. All right." ------------------------------------------------------------ Logging Stopped: 09/22/2001 at 1:54:17 ************************************************************
